    Thanks for the video. It helped. I sick of buying 100 euro clippers that fail after a year. I think I will go with the Super Taper corded this time.

    Ever had problems with V5000 motor getting hair stuck?
    I used to use one Braun beard trimmer, and it occasionally got hair stuck, now that it died I'm buying for better ones.

      It haven't happen to me yet, usually if it get get hair stuck is because the blade is worn out not because of the motor.

    Since Wahl Icon is discontinued in my country, I have to choose between Super Taper and Legend. I prefer the taper blade, but am worried about V5000 motor. How would you compare the power for bulk removal between V5000 and V9000? How big is the difference? Also you mentioned the blade heating faster, is the body heating faster on super taper? Cheers.

    • @cheungman83
      @cheungman83  Год назад +2

      yes i also prefer the taper blade as is good for all type of haircuts, to be honest there's not much difference between V5000 & V9000 is not worth paying the extra money for V9000 in my opinion. for bulk thick hair they struggle abit you need to go over bulk hair slowly. yes the blade heats up if you leave it on running too longer but all blades do unless you put ceramic blade on and the body heats up aswell because the housing cover on super taper is very thin but it doesn't get hot that is untouchable.

      @@cheungman83 Thank you! After catching an amazing discount, I actually got Wahl Legend corded. I loved the way their blade opens.
      I am curious, when fading, does it open enough so I can skip 0.5 guard? How do you fade with legends? Do you go from no guard open to 1 closed, 1 half open, 1 open? What is your method?

    My 20 year old Super Taper looks like it has a bigger motor inside compared to the legend. Is it true that old wahl motors are more powerful than newer ones? Maybe for energy saving/efficiency regulations?

    • @cheungman83
      @cheungman83  Год назад +1

      yes the corded clipper has much bigger motor inside hence is why is slightly bigger & heavier than cordless, because it's corded the power is consistent, when you turn it on you can instantly feel and hear the torque of the motor. the most important is the reliability, the cordless super taper is now stop working, i can change the battery but it cost £40 to buy, the clipper cost me only £70...just battery thats more 50% of the clipper.

    How many taper blades do wahl make? It seems most of their clippers have fade blades.
    I was considering getting a powerful clipper and using the magic crunch blade along with a taper blade just trying to figure out the difference in their taper blades

    • @cheungman83
      @cheungman83  2 года назад +1

      Wahl only make one taper blade which super taper.
      If you have the money then buy one of each blade so you can experience it.

    • @heythere6983

      Thanks for the response. Yeah I’d be getting probably a wahl clipper so it would come with a fade blade if I get the magic or senior.
      I was wondering, you know if I could put an andis taper blade on a wahl clipper? I was thinking of maybe using an andis taper with the wahl crunch. I was reading people say andis may be better for thicker hair and the finish is overall a bit smoother.
      I don’t need super short scalp cuts. It’s more for long hair that is a bit thicker and am trying to narrow this down. I just don’t know if I can combine an andis witt the wahl like I’m saying.
      The andis master is a taper blade? I was looking into their guards, oddly it seems andis uses wider teeth blade but then closer width guards and wahl does the opposite, shorter width blade and wider guards . That knowledge has been confusing me lol

      @@heythere6983 I don’t like Andis product as they not reliable and always break fast, I’m not sure if u can put andis blade on Wahl I don’t think so But I got a few Gamma clippers like x-Ergos & mythic and they are absolutely amazing clippers, now I stop using my Wahl clippers, Gamma always improving their technology were Wahl don’t really Improve and keep it the same.

      Yes its good & powerful to be honest there’s really not much difference, I had this clipper for 4 years now but my colleague had the same clipper for 16yrs and it’s still working perfect now no issues where cordless they have problems after 1-2yrs everyday use.

      If you are beginner then get corded wahl clipper because you will take longer time to cut hair because your new and you don’t have to worry about battery finish on cordless clipper, also corded clipper is much cheaper
