Lily Chung from Hong Kong wasn't a real winner Miss HongKong 1987, it suppose to be Pauline Yeung (the real Miss HK), but due to date problem, she wasn't be able to compete Miss Universe 1987 so that she been send to compete Miss World '87(which suppose to compete by 1st Runner-up), and Hong Kong that time decide to make a simple competition to find out the winner so they sent Lily Chung... After that in 1988 Pauline Yeung is able to compete Miss Universe 1988 and she ended up as 4th Runner-up!

Absolutamente Chile no tenía competencia, Cecilia tuvo una gran personalidad demostrandolo en todas las pruebas hasta el final tranquila y desenvuelta no como Italia que lloraba histérica.
Nunca me dejará de doler que por que las posturas frente al narcotrafico se les castigara a las representantes de Colombia en estos concursos, ese fue el caso con Paticia López Ruiz miss Colombia ese año, una niña Hermosisima e inteligente , bien preparada pero no la dejaron clasifica por ese tema, lastima de verdad y una pena que deja mucho qué pensar del concurso de miss universo
Es pretexto, se topó con otras misses mejor preparadas. Si fuera por el tema que dices nunca las colombianas debería ser finalistas , sin embargo siempre dan la pelea y figuran en los primeros lugares

Yes Greenland participated in Miss Universe from 1987 to 1990 and the national director then lost Miss Universe license. Many years later, Miss Universe Organization has the new rule that the country or territory that is a part of any sovereign states (except overseas territory) must compete in the mainland country before compete at Miss Universe. Since Greenland is part of Denmark so the territory can't participate at Miss Universe as Miss Greenland anymore but can participate as Miss Denmark.
Miss Philippines Geraldine Asis was the most cheered contestant from Asia because of her East Asian-Eurasian features which is the standard of beauty in Asia.
