I treat my guardian turret like the mini sentry from tf2. I keep distance from it whilst i fight someone in order to force them to fight two things at once. Ultimately increasing the odds that I win a particular fight
one note about the heal beam and gas, gas was recently (sorta) changed to have increasing damage the longer you stay in it so I believe you can still heal through a full gas cloud (assuming you enter it soon after it was spawned) but I'm not sure if lights can survive it or how much healing it takes as the beam was also made to overheat quicker

I always used to go heal beam, just because I had a banging duo strategy with my one friend who plays the finals, except that he barely plays anymore and I do solo lobbies and just never thought to change. And obvs the random teams I’m in are most of the time awful and still die in a battle that favours them
Yea and no, it still can counter just can’t crutch it if teammate is already low on health, so it still works but your teammate will be very low and if it’s a light you might not even be able to steal.

The healing beam is good if your team plays closely together but as a solo player I find that happens less than half the time.
