STOP 🛑 Getting Up Like THIS In Pregnancy!

- I see so many ultrasound video where Mom’s are on there back and then they get straight up 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ Most women at the end of pregnancy cannot handle this much intro-abdominal pressure. If you notice that when you do this you get “doming” vertically down your midline … then it’s too much pressure and stretching the muscles/tissues apart even more. Increasing risk for Diastasis Recti.
Protect your core by rolling to your side and pushing up with your arms. Also exhale and pull your baby in (shrinking your stomach) while you sit up (or do any challenging move).

My mother in law had me practicing this from the second trimester. I’m so thankful.
Was ist das genau?
Well crap. I’ve been doing that wrong for 34 weeks. 🤦♀️
Uh I did it through my whole pregnancy now I’m wondering if that’s why my stomach is so soft under my sternum
37 😬
🤣
@@alorakennedy7539 😮
Doesn't it hurt the baby?
The irony is the only time I sit up like that first one is when I’m in the tiny bed at the doctors office 😂
😅
Exactly that’s what I was thinking lol
Es una locura. Cuando va una al ginecólogo 🥴🥴
Exactly!!! My blood pressure is so low I can't even lay on my back so I always get dizzy during my visits lmao I even fainted once during a monitoring
U explained really very well. Most of the RUclipsrs tell how to and not to get up from bed but nobody gives explanations. Even my doc didn't give me. So never believed this earlier. Now onwards I will take care. 👍👍
I saw a video on RUclips about this type of injury, in which the doc was explaining what it is but also mentioned that they only hear about it from their patients because they are not taught in med school
Don’t reject wisdom simply because you don’t understand why it’s said. Ask questions and explore. Empower yourself with wonder and wisdom; you are brilliant and powerful.
@@tarrynthedoula thanks 🙏🙏
I keep having to check myself because I am so used to using my core strength for everything. Thank you for the instructional video 😊❤
I don’t know what pregnant woman that will even have the strength to rise up like that over and over again. I had no choice but to roll over, or roll out of bed literally 😂😂😂 I couldn’t even stand up too quick or I was going back down by fainting, I learned this the hard way!!
Same im only six months and i take a while to roll over 😂 im already slowing down hahhaha
😂😂
Lol I do it, but not anymore after watching this😂
40+6 weeks here and still stand up like this.
There’s a male out there who got same issue but less reason more of a excuse
So true. I'm 19 weeks pregnant and when I use method #1 to get out of bed I feel extreme pain in my pelvic region. When I use method #2, I don't feel that pain.
Below is what helped me deal with the pelvic & hip popping from trying to lift yourself up in the morning. I no longer pop, or have those sharp or dull aches in the lower regions from trying to sit up. Baby puts alof of pressure on everything down there. all 4’s will release all that and significantly reduce this popping and pain because the weight is evenly distributed. and not all pressed to one area.
Start from laying on your side, then turn to being your stomach and with your knees holding you up, butt in the air, then from elbows, push up until you’re on all fours, (wrists and knees,) like a table top, and push yourself up from there, to sitting up/kneeling until you’re up and out of bed that’s the best way i’ve found :)
I started doing this second trimester mainly because I was getting pelvic girdle pain and thankfully have been consistent with it into late pregnancy as well.
What a CUTIE!!! 🤗🥰🐕
I'm at the point now where trying to get out of bed looks like a turtle stuck on its back trying to roll over. It's very humbling. 😂
The roll honestly feels better too
Thank you so much 💙
The music at the beginning is 😮holycrap
Thanks for sharing ❤
Thanks for the technique
Good practice for us c-section ladies, even helps after!!
Thank you 💕
Thank you for this reminder. Been ten years since my last ❤❤
I've been doing it right the whole time 😊 I'm 36 weeks now.
How is your bbaby doing now
Omg I didn’t know this! Thank you!!
Thx lmao i needed this 😂😂😂
At my most recent appointment at 30 weeks, they made me lay down so doctor can feel my tummy and I had to get up like this because there’s no space for me to turn over. She didn’t even help me or say anything…
Some people are awkward or dont want to be too invasive or percieved as handsy. Ask for a hand sitting up next time and I'll bet they'll be happy to help.
Welp I will definitely start doing this hopefully it’s not too late haha I’m already almost 32 weeks
You think I can even do a sit up? First one hasn’t been an option since first trimester ended 😂
Sometimes I can't even roll on my side because my pelvis and legs hurt so much
Same here
Ikr, after pushing the lower area hurts so bad
Thank you
I’m just now seeing this video 😮
Im almost 39 weeks pregnant and based on how my pregnancy has gone, I’m honestly surprised that this had to be shown. I couldn’t raise up the first way even if I tried lbs. My body naturally started to raise itself up the 2nd way. I’m not sure how anyone would have the strength to do it the first way, seems nearly impossible and/or like the harder approach.
That stretching noise killed a small part of me 😭
Thats the sound the baby hears. lol jk
I’m glad I don’t have this to worry about anymore!! 😅
That puppy 🐶 😍 ♥️
Thank you for the quality content ✨️
He’s my love! Thank you! 💞✨
Good information ℹ️🎉
Lol I roll on my side, get on all fours ;then get up.😂😂😂 this look’s easier.😆
I was told by a few physical therapists that this is how everyone should get up from a laying position, not just expecting mothers. It prevents all sorts of issues that can go wrong, especially in the back.
Even when you're not pregnant, doctors still advise his/her patients to roll over sideways to get up, sit there a bit and focus before getting out of bed to prevent dizziness.
This is absolutely common sense…. I’m shocked how many women do not know this.
Bravo 👍
I can see my favourite pet ever 🐕😘
Thanks for sharing
Ouch! Does it go back to normal after the birth of the baby?
Husband to the rescue that’s what we all need😂😂
Thanks for this info. I get up this way and more people should know!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Glad it was helpful! 💞
Well, I've been doing that wrong for 27 weeks. That pupper is so adorable.
In my future self i will not forget this
Honestly sometimes I forgot that I'm pregnant and doing that #1 full strength to get up. 😅
wow i must have had an instinctual urge. Because i started getting up like this, or doing the side lay, then pull myself up on all fours to stand up after that. Once i got to around 30 weeks this was the only way i could get out of bed!
lay on your side, then rotate to your stomach and knees up, butt in the air, then from wrists push up until you’re on all fours, (wrists and knees,) and push yourself up from there. that’s the best way i’ve found :)
this will help the pelvic, hip popping and the pain from trying to lift yourself up in the morning. I no longer pop, or have those sharp or dull aches in the lower regions from trying to sit up from laying. the baby puts alof of pressure on everything down there. all 4’s will release all that and significantly reduce this popping and pain.
Oops. I guess I just learned where my rectus diastasis came from. 😂😢
I do it without my knees up to flip in bed late in my term and it is less straining. Using your arms/shoulders is key.
I did not understand half the words used there, so I honestly don't understand the consequences.. but first before I do this, I need to stop forgetting everyday that I'm pregnant 🤦♀️
Ended up with it after my first, now I'm on my third. I figured this get-up method on my own based on the level of comfort and ease, but I still would like to find a way to bring the muscles closer together after pregnancy is finished.
With me it’s the opposite, rolling to my side hurts like hell and pulling myself up doesn’t hurt at all
Thanks dear
I didn't that when they doctors hrd finished checking me and my baby and she told me no lie down again and put my arm straight and use the other one to push myself up just slowly ❤❤❤❤❤❤ from that day I have been doing it correctly
What about in early pregnancy? Or is this only second trimester and on?
Omg I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby and getting up from the side is WAY more comfortable than getting straight up with a big-o baby belly.
This also occurs in obese men. Also it occurs because the abdominal muscles are separating to make more room for baby.
Makes sense smh I been at this a long time 😂😂😂 I will correct it now
The sounds are scary enough 😂
Once my baby bump got in the way, I didn't have much choice except to roll over to get up
Lord messed my abs up lol
The sound makes it sooo painful to watch 😫 but yeah doing this ‘cause it’s so uncomfortable to do it straight up.
not just women. men, child also, for the back bone too.. Prophet Muhammad pbuh taught us ❤
My first pregnancy I was getting up like that from back.. I didn't have diastasis recti.
2nd pregnancy I did the same. I can't even have from side roll to get up. Now I'm having diastasis recti.
Using my arm is literally the only way I can get up with this big ass thing 😂
Well lucky me because I cant even get up straight if I wanted too lol. Im 34 wks and have been rolling to the side to get up for weeks.
I’ve doing it right but only cause that’s the only way I can stand up 😂
The side roll is real, I feel you girl 😆
I’m crying I had been getting up like this 😭
Around which week ?
Oh my god I’ve been doing it wrong this whole time and I’m pretty sure I did it too for my first pregnancy 💀. Well…damn
So what about if you’re trying to do sit ups? Or is that a work out move that you never do while pregnant?
I don’t recommend sit-ups during pregnancy. If you are looking for safe core exercises: ruclips.net/video/_FUbuVmpxAY/видео.html 💞
@@PregnancyandPostpartumTV thank you! I’ll check this out :)
I didn’t know this until the 3rd trimester and I’m pretty sure I have diastasis recti from it 🤦🏾♀️ oh well! I will know better the next time!
Omg I've been doing that 😭😱 never again
This is petty much the only way I can get up yeah 😂
how you get out of a recliner?
Yeah I really worried about that during my first pregnancy. Went the whole time so careful about it and then I pushed a baby out of my body which, you guessed it, split my stomach right in half. Don't worry about this kind of crap your body was made to birth children and that includes recovering from diastasis
"This kind of crap" is what makes your core unstable and your pelvic floor weak. No one wants to be peeing themselves because they birthed a baby or two. That's not normal nor is it okay. And not everyone recovers from it.
I struggle even to roll on my side. Getting up from flat on my back is definitely the hardest though. Why don't gynecologists tell us this is bad for us?
I’ve had that “ dooming “ effect since I was a young girl. Yo ur e telling me I had that that young?
Learned that in nrsg school
Are there exercises or things we can do now if we are already experiencing signs of this (coning/doming of abdomen) while pregnant or should you wait until postpartum to address?
I wish I knew this sooner, expecting my 3rd baby in 10 weeks!
U speak for both of us. Having my 4th in 10 week😂. Hope all is well with you and your little heaven ❤
Now I understand what happened to me!
That looks like the most painful experience 💀😭
Someone should have told Ronnie Coleman to do this
Ma sha Alloh barchamizga nasib qilsin ilohim ma🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
How did you know that this is how I wake up? 😢 I really struggle but am freaked how did u know that this is the way I struggle waking up? 😢
Per instinct I roll to the side and then get up the other way is just painful
Thankyou 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
My stomach was so open i could see my organs pop out and jiggle, i always got up on my side too, even 17 months later i still feel a bit of a gap between my abs
Pregnant again and the gap is huge, bigger than my hands i think, 39 weeks pregnant now
Wow. I never got up that always have to roll over
Safer that way 💞
Yes ma'am. Glad I did that.
I didn't even know pregnant women could get up like that... I only roll over to get up
Im on my second baby and im 8 months in and i wasnt told this
Ugh I have been being so bad about this :((
I was using second method in my 2nd and 3rd trimester, then also I have 2.5 finger distasis recti😢
Wish someone would have told me 😢
Thanks
You are welcome 💞
28weeks, already diastasis recti abdominis..happening.. want to know wht will help,, if it has began starting
Ohh
Nobody told me
I got up that way, but my baby lay horizontally instead of upside down…
I remember after birth I could touch that gap and could feel my spine. No joke
This short was "recommended" to me. Why tf does youtube think I am pregnant-
And thank you for the comments & everyone sharing their experiences
Well pregnancy has affected my wrists so idk about this 😭😭
See if I roll on my side to try and get up. I tear a muscle in pelvic area every time! 😑
