I'm an Eagles fan too. I know this could probably never happen, but what if after this season the Eagles let Wentz go and had the opportunity to sign Dak.
@@TR-ow7dh Wentz is having an awful season but every game he has slowly gotten better I think by the end of the season he will be back and a trade like that wouldn’t help. Wentz is just having a return slump which isn’t really what we want
@@CMP_18I'm a Wentz supporter, I'm not ready to give up on him yet but he is under a lot of fire in the Philly Sports media. I also think that the Eagles are kind halfway in and halfway out on him. Drafting Hurts was kind of a warning sign for me. But I really don't know if Hurts can play at this level. It would be hard to see Dak here, but I thought it was an interesting proposition since he would be a free agent and it seems like Wentz and Pederson are not really on the same page right now. The good news is that we are in second place and can play our way out of the horrible start. I hope for all our sake that Wentz gets his confidence back soon. Hope his receivers get healthy too.
I’m a Philly Eagles fan and a Wentz fan, idk how much of our fan base I speak for, but I feel heavily for Dak in this situation especially with the franchise tag. I hope I’m speaking for most of us. Shannon had it right on the money though, he’s an upstanding guy and has been through so much already off the field. I hope he’s able to heal up and continue on with his career.
I have to admit, I totally forgot Andy Dalton was the backup QB. At first I was like, 'Dallas is done', but when I saw Dalton was the backup, Dallas should definitely win this division. In his days in Cincinnati Dalton played well when he had lots of talent around him on Offense, it was when those playmakers started having injury issues (Tyler Eiffert, Aj Green, etc...)that his level of play started dipping. Fortunately the Cowboys have lots of weapons on Offense, so the Cowboys will probably be ok. However Dalton had problems winning big games, and nationally televised night games when all eyes were on his team. And he never won a playoff game. Should be interesting to see how he plays in more meaningful games in the future when expectations rise.
I've said the same to others saying the seasons over without Dak. Dalton is actually a serviceable qb, especially with weapons like what the cowboys have, he's got plenty of experience as well. He isn't with Cincinnati anymore only cause he could never get them past the first round of the playoffs everytime they went, but his QB play should be good enough to get Dallas winning the weak division they're in at least.
Freedom County Wilson is just a different beast, with the o lines he’s had and the amount of sacks and scrambles he’s had it’s so damn impressive glad he got weapons like DK now
@@shadowangel5547 andy is a GREAT QB, i know from being a browns fan... the cowboys are not the benagls and Andy had TERRIBLE LUCK in the playoffs with dumb running backs fumbling and getting hurt or his team. tbh i think dallas is lucky because i had your cowboys 3rd or 2nd in your division with Was on top.. but you will win at least 8 games now with Andy at QB when i only gave you 5 or so with dak, suck he got hurt you dont want to see that but this is a blessing for your cowboys

As someone who lives in Kansas City and has become for a lack of a better word "Numb" to other Qb's Dak has always stood out to me especially these past couple of years. Maybe not for the same reasons as Mahomes (Bias opinion) but for how tough this man is and his story to go along with it. Nothing but absolute respect and prayers for DAK, I have no doubt in my mind he will come back no matter what team or contract he gets. There is no coach or gm or owner in the nfl who wouldn't want him if Jerry doesn't set things right. The fine and true definition of a leader and teammate. Get Well Soon Dak- Sincerely everyone who loves the sport.
As a eagles fan this hurts me to see Dak go down like that.Dude always play his heart out no matter what I hope he comes back twice as strong which I believe he will
A true class act. I remember a game where the offense was about to take the field, and Dak was finishing his cup of Gatorade. When he was done and about to run onto the field, he threw the cup toward the garbage, but it missed and fell on the floor. I remember he stopped, turned around and ran to pick it up the cup, and placed it into the garbage. Then ran onto the field. It was a small gesture, but it spoke volumes about the character of the man.
Regarding the contract issue, the team didn’t “do this”, they didn’t force Dak on the franchise tag. Dak and his now-fired agent, Todd Frances, refused a legitimate contract offer and chose the route of the franchise tag. Let’s not start re-writing history. Hope he’s well and back at it next year.
No. Dak earned every penny he asked for. The cowboys absolutely forced the tag. They gave romo the money he wanted, dak proved more in his first 4 years as a cowboy starter than romo did. He earned it and should’ve gotten it before. I’m glad he got it.
Man, I feel for Dak. I'm praying for a speedy and unobstructed recovery. Also, someone keep an eye on this man. His Mom, Brother and now possibly his career? That's a lot for any one person to handle so close together.
I dont think anyone else with that same injury and situation would have been as sad. But I will say this, I will never bet against Dak. Next season is his season.
@@erroneouse1929 he actually ask for 4 years cowboys offered 45 I believe for the 5th year because of the tv contract they wanted to have him locked in already
I feel for Dak. His injury proves that players should have fully guaranteed contracts. The NFLPA is undoubtedly the worst union in professional sports.
I agree owners play games they know contract is year to year. They cut when they can’t resign. Not sure why the players don’t strike this year was perfect chance revenues are down anyways.
They already made an agreement before the season begin. This pandemic really messed up a lot of things and people lives. Prayers to everyone on this site. We need to come back stronger than ever

Really sad to see any athlete go down like that, especially one with the talent and potential that Dak has. God be with him through this difficult time.
Not in a great way. Considering Dak was at an NFL record high for average attempts per game (over 50, which is ridiculously high) and Zeke was at a career low for rush attempts per game (which is also stupid considering how great Zeke and Pollard are), those are what we call empty stats when the touchdowns and wins weren't coming in. That strategy wasn't working and not sustainable.

Both Dak and I lost our parent around the same time (his mom and my dad). Speedy recovery bro
Dak wasnt crying from the pain. He was crying because he could see his NFL career ending. I think he will come back and play. Even if he is not the same physically he has so many intangibles he can still be a franchise QB if not at Dallas somewhere else. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
I was there at this game yesterday. Man how quiet the whole stadium got, it felt as if someone had died. People in tears. It’s heartbreaking to say the least. I wouldn’t want this on anyone, and with everything going on his life just makes me hurt for him. Rest up Dak, I hope you come back better and stronger. You have so many people rooting for you man!!!
It would be one of the coldest moves in the NFL if Dak gets released by the Cowboys. He has been more than patient with Jerry and has been a team player. I'm done with Dallas if they don't give him another shot. Providing that he's healthy enough to play. Jerry comes off as the bad guy if he doesn't handle this the right way.
Great to see all the love people are showing to Dak.. not only other nfl players, coaches, and other personnel, but players and personnel of all sports and even actors/actresses, and fans of sports everywhere. What a class act Dak is! I knew right when he was tackled that it was an awkward landing and that something was probably seriously wrong. Sucks man because hes so durable and it's a contract year for Dak. Hopefully Jerry and Stephen make it right and pay this man! It was a freak injury that's likely to never be repeated with the franchise. Man.. get better, Dak!

As a Giants fan, I was completely devastated!!! I can't stand the cowboys but I hate this happened to this dude. He should have thrown the ball. You have offensive weapons on your side. You got great receivers, 2 great running backs in Zeke and Pollard what was he doing running that ball? Smh I wish him a speedy recovery!!! 🙏🏿💯
Jerry is probably drooling over the prospect of possibly drafting Trevor Lawrence. Andy Dalton...please get us to the playoffs. Make it impossible to draft Lawrence. Dak is our guy.
Why would you wish that on your team? Dak isn't an elite qb. Jerry was absolutely correct in NOT paying him as such. Dak is not in the same atmosphere as Russ, Rodgers, and Mahomes.
To be honest, the qb talent that is coming out of college is insane. It makes more sense to build a good football team and then draft a young qb on a rookie deal and win with him. Keep rotating them out. Never max out your your cap to pay a qb. Stack your team with a starter caliber back up (aka Philly with foles) and ball out. Great teams win SB, not great qb talent. Rodgers is one of the best. He got 1 ring.
I don’t like the narrative Dallas bet against Dak because they wouldn’t pay him what he wanted. They offered him a long term deal and he believed he should be paid like he’s a top 3 QB “which he is not” no disrespect due to the circumstances but we’re talking football. Dak bet on himself and unfortunately the dice came up snakes eyes. Get will and come back better than ever Dak.
No he wanted to be paid like every other franchise quarterback... Matt Stafford , Matt Ryan, Sam Bradford he wanted to get the next big contract. All of sudden Jerry said nope and Jerry won. Good luck Andy!!
@@jasoncollins3956 He wanted to be paid more than all the quarterbacks you listed. Jerry did not win. Paying a guy $31 million to break his ankle in week 5 is not winning.
Jonathan Johnson at the time Stafford wasn’t worth the big contract... Ryan wasn’t worth the big contract... Both Mannings weren’t worth the big contract. But you know what they were... the next man up.. that’s how it works... as for winning... Jerry made a business move that keeps him unbound to a QB that just shattered his ankle... He also has the opportunity to see if the back up is “good enough” in the weakest division in football... if that isn’t winning it’s the closest thing.
I’ve been fan of Dak every since he was at Miss St. It’s so many things you can say about him but He’s a Champion. He will rise from this. God Bless you Dak.
Dak still hasn't signed a contract with the cowboys he'll probably get comeback player of the year with a different team maybe with the Buccaneers after Brady retires or with the bears who knows 🤷♂️
I don’t think that you can blame the cowboys because they have him a 5 year contract that was 38 per year like he should’ve signed it and that’s on him but I feel so bad for him still
I'm by far not a fan of the cowboys but by no means do I enjoy seeing a player get injured Dak is a class act since he played in the SEC love how he has been putting in the work and being 1 of the best QBs over the last 4yrs I wish him a speedy recovery and a return like no other Jerry should have paid him
this season is for u #4!! WE LOVE U DAK!! 😔🥺 pls dont give up. ur always our QB1! :( edit: the team will make this right bc the fans will demand it for dak! this is not ok. the man was the leader of this team.
Jerry Jones made a great business decision. He made an offer and Dak didn’t accept it. Life’s all about choices. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. In football, it’s not what you’ve done for me, you’re getting paid for what you will be able to do this season. So far neither on both. Sucks he got injured. Hope he gets well soon.
When you're that big a qb and prone to run this is a very real possibility. The bigger you are the harder you can fall. All that 240 pounds put pressure on an ankle. It's still a sad sight and Dak is a great warrior who will come back stronger than ever.

Russel Wilson is just as durable. Has he missed any games since 2012? I don't think so!

A true class act. I remember a game where the offense was about to take the field, and Dak was finishing his cup of Gatorade. When he was done and about to run onto the field, he threw the cup toward the garbage, but it missed and fell on the floor.
Yeah funny how offering him over 100 million guaranteed is betting against him. It would be better phrased that he bet on himself and was wrong.
The franchise tag is a cop-out move used by teams to avoid paying players. Waiting for them to age or lose productivity. Yes, that is betting against.
