83-year-old Holocaust survivor finds family after 76 years

- Shalom Koray, an 83-year-old Holocaust survivor, found some of his family in the U.S. after 76 years. Koray's second cousin, Ann Meddin Hellman, found him through a online genealogy company.

Love these stories, my one and only son, now 54 yrs old, just met a brother and a sister thanks to Twenty Three and Me. That 3 met in Las Vegas for first time. It was the best gift from God they believe.

We found a half brother that had to be put up for adoption. His wife had posted our Mom’s details on a genealogy website and the post came up in a Google search I did on our Mom’s relatives in Ireland.
I replied to the message and got an email from my sister in law the same day. She had been looking for 9 years.

It's like a family business with those people.
What a heartwarming, but at the same time it’s so sad what he had to endure with having no family with him all of those years; but thank God for that precious lady who helped save him and the other 99 children. God bless her. So glad he ended up being united with his family. Amen.🙏🏾

How are there so many survivors so many years later?
If its what they say it was, how are there so many survivors at all?
Some escaped to other countries but lost family that stayed behind. Some we’re able to get false papers and hide their identity. Some were hidden away with other people’s help. And some were liberated from the camps at the end of the war.
