- Rogue Wave Ep.5: This is the first episode of many documenting our restoration of a 1976 Nautaline houseboat that we paid $6,500 for. We are also attempting to chop the boat in half and make it longer. What could go wrong?
Motiv8 Labs is a group of friends who make videos about cars, boats, racing, science, technology, fun projects, and having fun together. We have two shows we do, Speed bump which is for everything with wheels, and Rogue Wave which is everything related to boats.

when you said you were cutting your boat in half to add another section I had to subscribe. thumbs up!
Looking forward to see what happens...
Looks like a couple years and a lot of money to go for that big project.
I admire your courage a hope you get thru it without getting burn out.
Just replacing stringers looks like a big job.
The blue one appears to be a 1976 43’ Nauta-Line and the brown one is a 1977 to 1980 43’. I owned a 1973 43’ and then a 1978 43’.
House Boats are awesome .Once you own one and live on it for a season . You feel sorry for all the regular boat owners that have to go home at the end of the boating day .Cuz its to small and cramped in there tiny no window cuddy to stay over for the whole night and or days .
Hey cricket, it's soaknseated! Sorry to hear about enigma but if it ever gets back on the water, it will be you guys! Good luck!
Thanks man! Hope yall are doing good. Remembering all the good times out there with the Lakepirates gang and everyone is keeping us motivated.
The engines sound like merc-cruiser 350's?
Can a boat like this be in the ocean, do the great loop? Make it to the Bahamas?
The Great Loop is on the bucket list and this boat should be fine for that. It used to be a Mississippi River houseboat since it has a pretty shallow draft. As for the open ocean like the Bahamas, that might be a little tough for the ole houseboat to pull off.
To much work for 7 more feet....dang
related to Jim Stafford?
So it was totaled, but you could still drive it?
Yep the previous owners’ insurance called it a total loss so they were selling it cheap. We bought it and fixed the railings and some of the fiberglass good enough to use it for about 10 years until we brought it home to fully restore it.
