I didn’t hate the book but it felt really juvenile in its tone. And omg it pissed me off sm every time Elion called himself a pirate, like bro ur not😭😭and like if the biggest theme in the book is the change of heart AT LEAST do that well but Christo said nah🥴 It just annoys me how this book could’ve been better if it wasn’t this predictable, and offered at least something new
I hate this book. This really put me in a reading slump. The writing, the characters, the love story. It’s all terrible. I forced myself to finish this book because I hate DNF’ing.
@Linda Les I don't watch their videos. About the book I didn't like the main character and how the feminist theme was portrayed (I consider myself a feminist). I don't like when in a book the only female character that has a bit of depth is the main character and the others are just her enemies. But hey if you read the book maybe you would like it :)
Alexandra Christo's written another book set in this universe. I gave it one star and a rant review. Apparently it's basically the same thing as to kill a kingdom as well.

I read an excerpt online. So far the only good thing is the worldbuilding, everything else felt very repetitive and predictable.
@sussybaka thanky youuu i thought i was the only one who felt like this

Not only did the cannon scene happen in pirates of the Caribbean, but the captured siren trope also happens
