I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy done with one of these robots last year. I have 5 tiny scars (less than an inch) plus one for the drain. I was able to walk around my room a few hours after surgery, though still woozy from anesthesia. I didn't even need stitches, just some glue like a liquid bandaid. If you are scared about this robot, don't be, it is even better than traditional laparoscopy. I think they are so cool, these videos helped me be less nervous before my surgery too 🙂.
I just had a lung lobectomy with this robot and similar experience for me too. 4 incisions, plus chest drain. They had me up and walking several hours after. 2 weeks later and I'm back to bicycling, jogging, etc. Never thought this would be possible.

This video is one of the few that convinced me to have my surgery via Da Vinci Robot. I am very very pleased with the results, and the incisions are nearly invisible. Amazing team at Porter Hospital in Denver! I was surprised to see how huge the whole console is, it seemed like a giant preying mantis. They dock the patient to it, and tape you down so nothing can slip or move. Too cool.
I had to You Tube this because I just had surgery using the Da Vinci robot. Up and walking four hours later, out of the hospital the next day. Truly amazing!
:( well they tested surgery already (on the grape) so they are probably testing its coordination skills it’s not that far fetched if you think about it
You know the smaller in scale an airplane is, the less efficient the lift the wings generate. So such small airplane needs much higher speed relative to its size in order to fly, than bigger sized ones.
Speed is relative to size, a 172's rotate speed is far less than that of a 747 however, the 172 is well over 2 times smaller than a 747 and therefore has a faster relative to size rotate speed than a 747.
