As a boss myself that's exactly how I used to be, and my teams liked and respected me for that. I had at one point 178 people under me and not one of them ever wanted anyone else as their boss. I was proud of all of them all, and knew they policed each other and especially newbies. Those were indeed happy days.

It's a shame honestly that they did a way with this character, the idea of two people in a relationship together both dying from different causes is conceptually very interesting and certainly a better arc for 13 than what she got.
