For the guy asking about the clay, yes you put all the clay inside the tip of the nose cone. The newest version of this rocket includes clay to add to the inside of the nose cone to make it more stable when flying with "C" sized engines. The earlier version of the Hi Flier did not include clay in the kit.
I appreciate the video. It brings back so many memories of when I used to be really into rockets 15 years ago. You helped strike up my enthusiasm again and now I cant wait to get a Rocket kit. Thanks.
I inverted the color scheme on mine so the body is black and the fins and nose are red. This thing flies straight as an arrow and high as hell even on an A8-3 motor. I didn't even do a B6 launch yet and I can't even imagine what would happen on a C6. It might end up in orbit or at least in the next county over lmao. I added a small 8in parachute to mine because I like how it looks when it deploys. But on a Windy day it can carry the rocket some distance away. On a Windy day it's better to use the streamer for that reason lol. I'll probably use the streamer if I ever get to do a B6 or C6 launch. I love this little model. I have bigger ones but this one never fails to bring a smile 😁
You could also get an engine adapter and run this rocket 🚀 with mini engines. It is the size of a typical mini engine rocket anyhow. I ordered an engine adapter from amazon, just put it over the mini engine and it makes it the same size as a regular engine.
@@ckobo84 definitely, it's small and light enough. I've still never sent it on a C motor, although I did send it on a B6-6 and it was quite spectacular. I found a bulk pack of A8-3 at my LHS for a good price, basically the same as the mini engines, so I usually fly it with those. I have since gotten into the mini engines too, I made a mini hi flyer, minimum diameter on a mini engine. And I made a 2 stage minimum diameter rocket to use the mini engines, they have the A10-0 booster engines back in production and they work awesome. I think it weighs around 46 grams with motors Installed, witch is well under the 100 gram maximum take off weight off the mini engines.
I just got mine today, and I can’t figure out why it says to stretch/roll out the clay so it hangs out the nose, but then the next step implies that it should be all crushed into the tip of the nose. Sry to reply to such an old comment
It doesn't come with an engine.... I ordered it off of amazon and there was no mention of that. Just know that you need to purchase anything that propels this separately ..
You can buy it at hobby lobby, it’s like a anti flammable toilet paper that stops your whole thing from catching on fire. No it does not come with it and by all means DO NOT USE TOILET PAPER

Thank you so much! Exactly what I was looking for

What is the clay for? In the directions it shows it being used in the cone. You skip that

I recommend using the bag it came in as a tray for the glue. But I'm cheap and always save my balsa scraps for extra fins. Just a tip for the frugal.
@1959NASA No, you don't have to sand them that much. Just a light sanding will be ok.
I recently used it and even though the fins were off it worked perfectly...
I would buy it again
two videos in a day... wow!!
great job will :]
Nice rocket building
Thanks! More rocket videos coming.
Did you put all clay inside of the nose cone???
hmm, you don't have the instructions? I might have it on my website. I will look.
What about the clay in the nose cone?
But I bought this rocket and i got clay: In instructions says that i have to put clay in nose.

@@t65bx25 cut/tear just a bit off
thanks i needed it for Boy Scouts
nice rocket but is there a slot on the fins for the engine hook ring
@lizzyurias123 Hobby stores, amazon online and I get them sometimes at toys r us but you have to ask somebody. They usually keep them in a back room.
hey when you sanded the fins(when the were still on the sheet of fins) did you sand them until the lines went away
I have a tutorial on my website for this rocket. I put the link in the description section of this vid. Can click it there.
Where is the tube marking guide and shock cord mount? I cant find it! Is it part of the instructions.
TehZured yeah you cut it out of the instructions
Failed to add clay to NC ;(
Instructions on the clay are very vague.
how do you launch it????
Amazon sells them online you can see links and info on my website stormthecastle. You can also get them at almost any hobby shop.

Does hot glue work as well as Elmer's?
for this project no. Best to stick with white glue.
Good deal. Thank you!
i just bought this one cost 10$ on amazon these models are high priced even the full kit around 30$ with everything
Thanks for the tutorial!! What is used for the recovery wad? Does it come with the kit?

no, the nose cone is an empty plastic shell!
Boston ish :)
I like tutles
