Did not work for me under any circumstances. I have tried upwards of 20 times with varying pieces of foil and have yet to have any attempt succeed. I do not know what is going wrong, I did everything the same as is shown with no results.

It’s a lot more in depth (no shade thrown at the guy in this video) and kinda a “for dummys” type video which was perfect for me!
This actually worked for me, the tricky part is making sure the foil makes it into the right spot, after the 3rd try for me it worked!

Hi - mine goes to black screen so it seems to work to get it into recovery mode, but when i run the Tehra Rcm on my PC it does not regocnize the switch? nothing happens. My switch is not patched and i have installed drivers on my PC. any ideas what to do?

I have been trying this for like an hour and a half. My tin foil piece looks exactly the same and I put it in the same place, and I slowly slide it on making sure it stays. Switch keeps turning on. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

What year did you buy your switch? If you bought one after 2019 you wont be able to rig it

aaa thought i’d leave a comment attesting to this! i was gonna 3D print my own, but when i saw this i thought i’d give it a try, and it worked like the third time (i think the first two attempts failed because i held down the buttons, a quick press of both at the same time works). my only tips are please, PLEASE make sure your tinfoil only touches pins 9 and 10, as pins 4 (and maybe seven)? have something to do with power and can brick your switch if the foil is touching either of them, so please make sure you’re precise!! i did tape mine but honestly you could probably get away with just making sure it’s secure and fastening it with the joycon on the rail, but my hands are shaky so i opted for tape :,) it’s def not a permanent solution, but it worked really well and only took me around ten minutes, would def recommend!!
For anyone wondering, You're supposed to short 10 and any of the ground pins(1, 2, and 7). And try not to short the 4th pin unless you want to mess up your switch.
How to recover the piece of tin ? I can't take it, it is at the bottom of the rail
Remove the joycon dude and just take it out , once you’re in RCM you can remove it then

How thick/thin does the tinfoil piece need to be? Will it fry the console if it's not positioned well?
Just make sure it doesn't touch the pin 4 otherwise you'll fry your console

@@gaurav270 You WILL fry the console if it's not placed correctly. Basically inside the rail, there are 10 pins from left to right. The goal here is to bridge the connection between pin 10 and a grounding pin, which is either pin 1,2, or 7. From what I'm guessing in this video, the tinfoil is only on the right side, so it's probably making pins 6-10 touch. HOWEVER, if ANY other pin touched pin 4, you will fry the console. Pin 4 is the 5v power pin, you CANNOT let it touch anything else.

You shouldn’t touch pin 4. start counting from the display side. It can fry your switch 😮

Your Switch is probably patched.

If it goes into recovery, how can you turn it back on ?
Inject the custom firmware payload or hold the power button for 20-30 seconds the press the power button again
Great, but how do you get out of the recovery mode if pushing the power button does nothing ?
You battery has to die, unless you inject a payload im not 100 percent sure but i think thats about right.
Just in case someone stumbles upon this in the future and reads this:
No, you don't have to wait for it to die. You just have to hold the power button for like 10-15secs'ish. That will turn it off.

my tin foil ether keeps falling out or crumberling up idk what to do?
Make sure it’s not too thick,and bend it tightly when you put it on the joycon so that it stays in place and try not to move the joycon when it’s in place just slide the console on it

If my switch is patched can i get into recovery mode? I seemed to have gotten into recovery mode but after booting up TegraRCM and "successfully injecting the payload, i turn on the system and it's back to normal. Any advice? thank you. I use to mod and hack PSP consoles, and have quite a bit of experience with this type of thing, but it didn't work the few times that i did try to port over fusee.

Wouldn’t this hit the fourth pin? If you contact the 4th pin it bricks your switch.

You just need to keep the tin on the right most side of the joycon and try to slide the switch while the foil stays on place

Joycon will not work as the foil will not let the pins to he properly connected
