Daft question, but how do you know where each unit is based?
P.S. I've just joined the British Red Cross as an Emergency Responder, which is now based at Kirkstall Road
It says in the Officer In Charge (Front Passenger Seat) Side of the pumps, Watch Managers usually you can tell by the helmet when they get their helmets out the back (E.G 50 Rawdon, 20 Leeds etc)
@@yorkshire9998 ahh. So you add that detail later. Nice one.
I need to memorise all the station numbers
Was it a moorland fire, or a heath fire, or a wildfire. What's the difference, and I'm not trying to be awkward.
Thats a good question always ask these type of questions dont be afraid
basically there no really difference between its just how they more fight it then anything and the response
@@connorwilliams4859 In 21 years of being at a busy retained Dorset station with dozens of square miles of gorse, heathlands and plantation, we never called it a wild fire. To americanised.
It’s a moorland fire. The area in question is open peat moorland that is in the south Pennines this particular spot is just below the Pennine Way.
Happens every year despite a ban on open fires, bbqs etc. visitors come into the area and accidentally cause these fires.
Except for the time a guy set off a firework to impress his girlfriend… he got sent to jail.
Mountain Rescue teams are often deployed to assist F&RS too.
