    ARMY STRONG! I became a 19E M60A1 Tanker in 1982 at Fort Knox Kentucky OSUT THE HOME OF ARMOR. In 1985 I completed M1 Abrams NETT, 1986-1987 M1A1 Abrams NETT and in 1993 M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tank NETT. #ONTHEWAY

      I saw alot of you guys in Grafenwhoer in 1983 . .. Mostly M60s but there were some M1s too. I was impressed with how BIG they are driving in an M35A2 'Deuce n Half' and looking UP at the Tank Commanders as the drove by in the dozens at a time.

      @@MikeRogers44 M1 Transition for some units in Germany started in 1981-1982 and many still had M60A3 Tanks in 1983. The total force transition to new equipment in Germany for the U.S. Army ended in 1988 with the first phases and we were in strict training up until 1990 when deployments to the Gulf were happening starting in 1989 July-August.

      @@MikeRogers44 right and I was there in West Germany during the Cold War while the Berlin Wall was still up in 1984-1986 with 2nd Squadron 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment performing border patrols and in 1989 in West Germany when the Berlin Wall was taken down. I have a piece of concrete from that wall.
