They are technically all part of the "good guys" but Soushi (the child piloting Mark Sein, the purple mecha) was implanted with fake memories making him believe they are his enemies and is more or less throwing a tantrum so they decided to beat some sense into him. Literally. 😂

He got captured by festum and implanted with fake memories that tatsumashima island people are the enemy. This scene is right after he is rescued, still confused and doesn't know what to do,he pilots mark nicht to kill the man who destroy his peaceful life (fake life) Aka Kazuki.
