Not actually. The additional instruments were added into the track. IMO this performance was recorded in the church, but of course NOT in one take. Post-production handled the natural acoustic reverb. The acapella version was of course one take, before the final consolidated version we see here.

I would like to know how you know this because my producers ear tells me this isn't recorded in the church. You wouldn't go through all the effort of canceling the reverb and adding instruments from a live recording just to make it sound like a studio version. You'd just do it in the studio. As I say, you can clearly see the vocals don't quite line up with the video in parts too. It's slight but it's definitely there

I don't know how or why exactly, but her voice can give me goosebumps multiple times in the same song, even one I've heard many, many times like this one. It is uncanny and nobody causes me to physically react in this manner like Angelina. She is so special.

@TheCharlieSmithChannel Fortunate for me, I do live in the US. It will still be a three hour flight from Texas to LA. I had a similar thought to the one someone else had about seeing her while she still performs in smaller venues. I saw a Rolling Stones concert at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas a few years ago and if it had not been for giant video screens on either side of the stage it would have looked like tiny stick figures walking around the stage. The Cotton Bowl is a football stadium here in Dallas, Texas. It also rained on us as it has no cover. Fortunately is was only a light drizzle and had it been a full thunderstorm they might have stopped the concert for safety reasons.

This is a studio recording and is the version that appears on Toby Gad’s Piano Diaries album. The church was used as a backdrop for the video. There is another video with Angelina walking through the streets of London. That video uses the same studio recorded vocal track but has more contemporary instrumentation. There is also another video in this same church that is a live performance. These videos were made while Angelina and Toby were in London a few months ago.

Enjoyed your reaction. There are numerous videos of her singing this, most live. This is the Toby Gad "Piano Diaries" version, included on his recently released album of the same name. The same vocal with different instrumentation & informal scenes is on AJ's channel as the official music video. There's the live version in the cathedral and live performances at other events in London and the USA. One I especially enjoy is on a channel named Sofar.

There are some instruments in this version which are not visualized as well as possibly some backing vocals as well so I agree that this version was not entirely recorded here. Two here, one of her walking around London, one at the Palladium in London, one in LA where she also sings Bad Valentine, and another backstage at the IVORS. Actually Toby collaborated on the song with the original artist BC Jean. Toby said recently that he doesn’t write for artists. He usually writes with artists.

Sometimes cuts mean multiple things. It can mean she made a mistake with the mouth not shaping the words well or something that will not match with the recording. Or it could mean she moved inappropriately not like she should, meaning that's why there are cuts and multiple takes of the video. If I'm wrong I won't argue though, I'm no producer or editor, I just believe this is exactly like a music video.

I think that the acoustics from the part acapella version would have been too much for the tracks Angelina and Toby used on their own productions. Angelina on the streets walking video and Toby for his "Piano Diaries" album. That's possibly why the acapella one is a stand alone version. (IMO). Not actually. The additional instruments were added into the track. IMO this performance was recorded in the church, but of course NOT in one take. Post-production handled the natural acoustic reverb. The acapella version was of course one take, before the final consolidated version we see here.

I would like to know how you know this because my producers ear tells me this isn't recorded in the church. You wouldn't go through all the effort of canceling the reverb and adding instruments from a live recording just to make it sound like a studio version. You'd just do it in the studio. As I say, you can clearly see the vocals don't quite line up with the video in parts too. It's slight but it's definitely there

Hi Charlie AJ has elevated this into a masterpiece there are I think 7 performances in different venues I also love her and Toby in a small London venue Sofar live you can hear every part of her unmatched voice she is incredible, and yes Husky Heaven.

What can I say, this is a fantastic version of the song, (there is also another fantastic live video version with the wonderful echoes of the church that make her voice even more magical), I would listen endlessly to her wonderful and powerful voice with that incredible low register of her and those wonderful progressions, I admire her fantastic musical sensitivity more and more, it seems impossible, but every song, simple or complex, which she rediscover becomes a new and splendid song. For me she is simply unique and with an incredible melodic perception. @TheCharlieSmithChannel Fortunate for me, I do live in the US. It will still be a three hour flight from Texas to LA. I had a similar thought to the one someone else had about seeing her while she still performs in smaller venues. I saw a Rolling Stones concert at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas a few years ago and if it had not been for giant video screens on either side of the stage it would have looked like tiny stick figures walking around the stage. The Cotton Bowl is a football stadium here in Dallas, Texas. It also rained on us as it has no cover. Fortunately is was only a light drizzle and had it been a full thunderstorm they might have stopped the concert for safety reasons.

There are some instruments in this version which are not visualized as well as possibly some backing vocals as well so I agree that this version was not entirely recorded here. There are six versions of this song on RUclips by Angelina, possibly seven. Two here, one of her walking around London, one at the Palladium in London, one in LA where she also sings Bad Valentine, and another backstage at the IVORS. There may be another version that I'm missing. I can see that version in my head but can't place it. Needless to say, they are all fantastic. 😊 mabye, it was on stage at the IVORS.

Actually Toby collaborated on the song with the original artist BC Jean. Toby said recently that he doesn’t write for artists. He usually writes with artists.

Sometimes cuts mean multiple things. It can mean she made a mistake with the mouth not shaping the words well or something that will not match with the recording. Or it could mean she moved inappropriately not like she should, meaning that's why there are cuts and multiple takes of the video. If I'm wrong I won't argue though, I'm no producer or editor, I just believe this is exactly like a music video.

I say one official music video is for the mainstream , then there is this music video for Toby Gad's album "Piano Diaries" which is this, and then the live in Cathedral.

Also, if you enjoy Angelina’s Low Tone and Vocals, there is nothing better than her Elvis’s rendition of “Where Art Thou” where she sings the entire song in that Un-Earthly low tone. I think that the acoustics from the part acapella version would have been too much for the tracks Angelina and Toby used on their own productions. Angelina on the streets walking video and Toby for his "Piano Diaries" album. That's possibly why the acapella one is a stand alone version. (IMO). When she belts on the acapella version the reverb is very strong and very stunning. Thanks for the great reaction, keep "Bad Valentine" in your mind for a future reaction, it's something else.
Your comments suggest you are relatively new to Angelina. For range - the lows, check I Put A Spell on You -recorded with full band in the studio.
