LMAO I just commented on another Dashboard video "I wish I could build a time machine for moments like these" - then saw your comment... and was going to reply but saw that I already did with the time machine (totally forgot I commented) hahahaha
I just got into this band about 2 months ago. I found them because Chris Carrabba was featured in one of my favorite Neck Deep songs, "December", so I decided to look him up and I found Dashboard Confessional and I'm really happy that I found them.
I’m 20 years old and I remember my parents burning all their CDs onto an old eMac that I had in my room when I was around 6 years old and listening to Dashboard. At the time I had no idea the concept of emo music or how good this band really was as I played with my legos. But all I know is that ever since then Hands Down has been one of my favorite songs throughout my entire life. Thanks mom and dad for sharing Dashboard with me even when I was too young to relate to the songs.
Your post reminds me of my own son who is a few years older than you....and he grew up listening to Dashboard, Taking back Sunday, Lost prophets, Alkaline Trio, etc etc....he's 24 now and grew up listening and eventually learning to love the same bands...we still bond over music..sharing music back and forth over messages...We have "our" songs that remind us of certain events...I can remember screaming the song "Vindicated" with him in the car when he was so little......When he was in middle school and got to the age of wanting to pick his own clothes and shoes, the first time he wanted to buy a pair of converse and Vans and started shopping at PacSun, it was a total proud mom moment...Your parents raised you on good music..and it's great it is being passed down to the next generation..music today simply can't compare to the natural raw talent from bands like DC..
Can't help it No cure Love love love love this song, i fall in love with this great song since the first time hear it ...... 2003 and now 2021 still no cure... Chris can you take me back to the day i fall in love 😍😍
I just saw Dashboard perform last week and can't get there music out of my ears ! used to love this band. I'm so glad they are on tour again! this video Is what made me want to see them live in the first place !!
I'm sending this ass my valentine gift realizing the only gift you can send when you think you have nothing else is love so pure thank you chris ! God bless fans and you ! Love so pure...
His lyrics were really insightful and passionate. He was like a romance novelist belting vocals out over punk influenced muted acoustic guitar. I was in love with my first gf when this came out, first as an acoustic ep called So Impossible. It feels so good to hear these songs that it also hurts to know 19 years have passed and those innocent days are gone. Also, my peers from this time grew up to be woke, progressive liberals obsessed with race and gender ideology. Maybe that’s what emo does to people
Well maybe take a lesson from your peers. They have evolved but youre still stuck in the past listening to old songs & thinking about your first girlfriend. As time progresses so should we. The only people who are obsessed with race and gender are you conservatives because you're clearly scared of change. It is ok to not hate everyone bro. Give it a shot and join us in the present instead of clinging to the past.
Most people get older and become more conservative, eschewing the radical thinking of their youth. But, some grow older & become even bigger potheads and then they just fall in with the next generation's radical ideologies for the sake of being current & cool. The OP is the former, you are the latter. I support the OP for fondly remembering the past, recognizing innocence lost, and lamenting friends who lost their way. As most Americans already know, woke is a joke.
He had a horrible motorcycle crash that nearly killed him. Multiple surgeries. Had to even relearn how to play guitar. Give the guy a break, it's great he came back at all.
can u take me back to the days when musics sounds this great :'''(
:( i feel u
I've been working on a time machine for this reason.
LMAO I just commented on another Dashboard video "I wish I could build a time machine for moments like these" - then saw your comment... and was going to reply but saw that I already did with the time machine (totally forgot I commented) hahahaha
