I finally understand now after watching the entire ”Tenchi Muyou! Ryo-Ohki” why Tenchi, Ryoko, Ayeka, Sasami, Washu, Mihoshi & Noike were so radiant. It’s because they did it… 😂
It is kind of bizarre that he is marrying a mom and her daughter and also siblings. But he is also marrying a humanoid ship. Which would kind of be like a car. Beep beep
Ryo-ohki is a bio-crystal computer unit. The space ship is merely a "shell" (for lack of a better term) to allow her to travel through space, similar to how Juriain Royal Trees use ship shells to allow them to travel around. Ryo-ohki can reproduce as she's a fully functioning humanoid, so the car reference doesn't follow, unless your car can turn into a woman with a vagina, ovaries, and the ability to accept human seed for reproduction purposes. 😉
Mihoshi is also Washu's like great granddaughter. And since the choushin are basically Tenchi's daughters, that make Tenchi kind of Washu's and Tsunami's dad. Might as well not talk family in tenchi Muyo, incest is everywhere.
Technically Seina could have at least twelve wives. Kiriko, Amane, Ryoko Balta, Neju; Gyokuren, Hakuren, Karen, Suiren (Seto's handmaids from the Renza Federation); plus Fuku and her three clone Cabbits, who have AI personalities in the novels (replicated from characters in Dual Parallel Trouble Adventure). The novels also have Seina marrying Jovia Jovis and possibly Airen from the Renza Federation as well. And those are just the obvious ones I know of, as there's a canon list with a dozen more names of prospective brides. (Poor Seina! Never could shake that bad luck of his.)

And by the time of the scene shown in this video, Kenshi looks to be about eight. Ten to twelve years, give or take, has passed since the series start. Sasami isn't that little girl staring at her reflection in the water with existential dread anymore. Toss out the stasis and focus on years actually lived. Tenchi Muyo takes the social concepts of age and maturity, and throws a titanium crowbar into the machine. You have to evaluate based on context instead of the standard principles applied to society. Ryo-Ohki is even more complex because she's not even human... She's not even a lifeform as we understand it, actually. She's a hybrid alien entity that is part spacecraft computer core, part mineral lifeform, and part a bio-mimicking self-aware psychic gestelt powered by antimatter. One that is sometimes a floating crystal, sometimes a half-cat/half-rabbit, and sometimes a humanoid girl. Chronological age standards are pointless to apply and our only concepts for introducing non-human entities into intimate relationships come from misguided forays into pleasure-seeking experiences at the expense of non-sapient Earth creatures. Honestly, Tenchi doesn't bother me. We see enough of his character to know that he'll treat them all well. It's his grandmother, Airi, I would be concerned about.
@@atigerclaw All of what you said is logical, but logic isn't intimacy. When many people watch or read fiction, they want to relate to characters. Tenchi was a relatable character in the first two OVAs. So were the others. They really changed up the story starting with OVA3 and onward, overly complicating things with politics and adding characters and making the originals pretty much irrelevant. Now, the same person we looked to for restraint and strength, even during the times of the largest temptation, has not only decided to marry multiple girls, including a woman AND HER DAUGHTER AND GREAT GRANDAUGHTER, a girl AND HER SISTER, but add on a computerized space ship that served as your PET for some years. It may not bother you for someone to marry their cat, but it's not going to go over well with some people that a character they once looked up to is having sex with their cat on a beach along with other girls (Even if the cat could take a humanoid form). Tenchi watched Sasami grow up. That's also another thing people might take issue with. It's one thing to be older than a girl. There are always age gaps. But when an older guy watches a girl grow up from age 8 on and then has sex with her once she becomes old enough? That may have happened in history, but that doesn't mean people want to see it now. Incest happened a lot throughout history too. Doesn't mean we want our heroes sleeping with their sisters. No amount of "titanium crowbar" throwing is going to change the fact that while THEY are aliens, WE are NOT. All of them look human, act human, speak perfect English (Or Japanese or whatever language they SHOULDN'T know). They operate like humans, eating and drinking and sleeping. Sasami even has an episode where she needs comfort because she begins puberty...like a regular biological human girl does. So don't throw out standard principles when they are operating under them, but throw them out when the show decides to break them with polygamy, incest, and beastiality? It's just weird man. It is.
@@YophiGames There are two problems here: The first problem, here, is that you use the example of Ryo-Ohki being a cat. Your cat doesn't possess a genius level intellect. Your cat isn't a crystaline space battleship computer core. Your cat isn't half crystaline lifeform, half psionic matter-antimatter gestelt polymorph. Your cat isn't _sapient._ Ryo-ohki has looked like an adorable abomination to nature for the longest time, yes. But Ryo-Ohki isn't a _CAT._ I would like to point you at mythology now. Humans have a pretty regular habit of coming up with creatures that very obviously what they thought a human x [creature] crossbreed would be. Centaurs come to mind. Sphinx comes to mind. Beowulf just gave me a call, had a nice chat there. And pretty much most of the stories involving Zeus can be summed up as: "Zeus no!" "Zeus _YES!"_ So if the worst offense of Ryo-Ohki seducing Tenchi after all this time (because given that creature's enthusiasm for loving the hell out of Tenchi, she went after HIM, not the other way around) is that she 'looked' like a cat-rabbit hybrid until she wasn't, that's actually downright tame. RIP your poor virgin brain, BTW. The second problem, is not really your fault. But you're acting like Tenchi just waited until Sasami turned 18 and said: 'Get in the bedroom, Sammy.' like a creep. So much are you just distracted by the prospect of Doing the Deed that you're neglecting the entire rest of the relationship Tenchi has to have with them. Nearly fifteen years of it. Yes, he watched her grow from 8 to 20+. But let's not poison the well with the phrasing of that statement. He didn't WATCH Sasami grow up, like he was looking at a clock, and going: "Soon(TM)". He grew up along side her with an age gap of about 7 years. A big deal early on. But when they're both into their twenties, it's less critical, and into their thirties? Forties? About the main concern there, psychologically speaking, would be that they would likely have a brother-sister relationship develop. I won't disagree with that. But then, let's toss in the Joker card here. Sasami _IS_ Tsunami. A goddess level entity that exists in 12 dimensions that created the universe. Age: 'ALL OF TIME'. And this careens into one of the other things Kajishima seems to be poking at in his works, and that's the extreme age differences in people with lifespans measured in centuries and millennia. Hilariously, it's ALMOST verbatum stated that: 'Earthlings tend to find it weird because their unenhanced lifespans are so short that they only ever partner with people of similar age, and for the purpose of producing offspring.' At the risk of oversimplifying a topic worth a small book, we ARE staring into a series that is seriously looking at how most people measure relationship hierarchies, 'time', and go "What if lifespans are SO long, all our socially acceptable norms go out the window?' I mean, if you want to go down the rabbit hole, Ryoko is a creeper. She's 3,000 years old. Spent 700 years in soul jail in a cave, watched Tenchi grow up, and pines after him. Washu is... flat out confusing. Because she's TWENTY THOUSAND (Always has been), can selectively have a prepubescent body or a well endowed adult body, has had multiple children across her mortal lifespan, is ALSO a universe creating goddess... Ayeka is Tenchi's great aunt by blood, was slated to marry his grampa. Mihoshi is... broken. And ALL of that was in place by episode 13, the end of OVA 2. We thank you for flying with Con Air today, Nicolas Cage will show you to the door. Watch that first step.
@@atigerclaw you did all of that posting and missed the point. It doesn’t matter what information you give about Ryo-ohki sir. No matter how much you TRY and insult my “virgin brain.” Ryo-ohki is not a cat…in Tenchi’s world. But Tenchi’s world…is not the real world. The ones watching Tenchi’s world…the customers…are in the real world. And yes, we all break away from the real world and enjoy fiction. That’s great buddy. But we love fiction because, no matter how weird the world we go into is, we still can relate to it. NOBODY relates to twenty thousand year old crystals. People DO relate to humanoids because…they look and act human! Ryo-ohki has NOT looked and acted human. The show skips all the years of that human intelligence. It goes from Ryo-Ohki spending time as the house pet, to sometimes being in the form of a tiny kid that still can’t speak, but only meow…like a cat…to Tenchi having sex with it. You added in all the backstory as if it changes the basics of story writing elements. No, it’s not my “virgin brain” that’s the problem. It’s bad writing by a sick human being. Hahahaha! This harem ending has long been something we knew was coming. I had your reaction back before OVA 3 came out, but then folks walked me through why Tenchi would marry them all. Politically, the marriage is a good one, hence the reason Jurai and Mihoshi's family have no objections.
Hey Astronerd Boy! (I’m the guy that emailed you about subspace on the ships if you remember like 15ish years ago 😅)! Still here and still a big Tenchi fan!!
@@AstroNerdBoy Yes! I’m still here and still a big fan. I was around 13 at the time and didn’t really understand subspace and how it fits into a ship so I emailed you about it! @@PopJPT First, thanks for the support! And hopefully I got back to you on the e-mail. I'm horribly bad about that these days. As to the Bioroids, yeah, that would make for an interesting anime adventure. It is a shame that more of the written stuff isn't adapted for anime.
Wow. I commented on your website a couple of times, including your review of Tenchi AI (I was sad that Kiyone wasn't included). As for this OVA debacle, it's part political as you said, but...really, mostly a copout on the part of the writers. There really isn't any reason for Tenchi to marry ALL of the ladies. But yeah, that's the fantasy, I guess... For me, I prefer how Tenchi Universe closed with its two surreal movies, Tenchi Muyo in Love 1 and 2.
Universe definitely cleaned up a lot of the issues with the other iterations that I had. No more inbreeding crap, Tenchi was Jurian but not related to Aeyka, and Ayeka, being the chief love interest this time, was actually a more bearable character to watch. Heck, they gave us more Cabbit love with Ken-Ohki, which is always nice.
@@ambientwishwalker8908It seems like he still does my favorite line from the end of the movie "When I draw I feel things I lost touch with but are still there in my heart" he was able to remember Ryoko through his paintings and like wise Haruna.

I didn't like it when ryo ohki got a humanoid body, I felt like it ruined the character a bit, but seeing ryo ohki grow up and fuku grown up salvaged it for me. Season 3 already had HUGE red flags as to where things were going. After the second OVA series & Universe, I was largely done with Tenchi, the second & third movies along with 'Tenchi In Tokyo' killed my interest long ago. But I did have a good long laugh reading newer seasons' synopsis that seemed to describe Tenchi's life becoming an anime version of 'Big Love' LOL!
lol agreed but I am biased as to the fact I wanted a genuine fleshed relationship with Ryoko. Which was heavily suggested throughout the series and alternate versions
@@SimpleMusingsNot being biased, but I would include Ayeka as well, after seeing almost everything related to Tenchi in Muyo I can confidently say that the relationship between Tenchi and Ayeka is also special as is his relationship with Ryoko
@@schroederthepianoboy4498 There's a reason I kinda enjoy RyoAyeTen as my personal OTP3 polycule (mainly thanks to Universe...) I guess what is worth to me is we only see Ryoko's and Ayeka's offsprings in this ep (even with Ryo-Ohki being pregnant in same ep, eww god)
this is today's reality, and sacratism is now considered discrimination. How I see it, all the women were okay with it and gave Tenchi their blessing. Futhermore, Tenchi hails from a family with great wealth to support his loved ones. You cant hate on that.
Agreed. The very spirit of the series is so different past OVA 2nd. I would expect this from American shows, but not Japanese. I am hoping the will remake the series or reboot after OVA 2 but yeah, who am I kidding.
I hear, yah! To me, I always felt it was a cop out that Tenchi chose all the girls in the end!(It also always grossed me out that Ayeka and Sasami are technically Tenchi's great aunts.)
Politically, a harem marriage is the best bet. Tenchi is the most powerful entity in the 3rd Dimension. He's even more powerful than the Choushin sisters. By Tenchi marrying Aeka and Sasami, he now has a tie to Jurai and the ruling House Masaki (which he's already a part of in an unofficial stance, but marrying the sisters furthers that connection). Tenchi marrying Noike gives him a 3rd tie to Jurai and a connection to House Kamiki. Tenchi marrying Mihoshi gives him a connection to Galaxy Police and the powerful Kuramitsu family. And while the Kuramitsu family and Jurai are allies, Tenchi marrying Juraians and a Kuramitsu furthers that bond. Tenchi marrying Washu means that the most gifted scientist in the galaxy, and creator of the only weapon platform to invade Jurai, won't be using her tech against Jurai ever again. To that same end, Tenchi marrying Ryoko and Ryo-ohki, the pirate and computer unit managing the powerful warship of the same name, means that these two have officially gone from enemies and terrorists to allies and family. So while it may seem a cop out for Tenchi to marry his harem, for Jurai, this marriage is a very good one for them on a political basis as it secures the most powerful military force (Tenchi and his harem) as allies, not enemies.
Finally, i see someone reacting to this the way i do, otherwise, I noticed everyone so positively excited about this scene, I felt like I was an alien on this planet. Is it normal when their kids will find out they are made by group s*x? Also, some of these girls are related? This kind of relationship is immoral. I know it's a harem anime but I thought, the girls were aware, that in the end only one of them will be with this guy. Are they sl*ts or wh*res? how can people be comfortable with these characters after this scene?
Stop being a child. Most of these women-girls are hundreds of years old, think of a grandma with amazing plastic surgeries. Plus finally we get a decent ending and not the open ending of previous animations.
Child I don't care about them. Ryo ohki is not them are they and did mention the others. Sasamu is far older than tenchi but a child but she was not mentioned
Most of these women are not actually hundreds of years old. Noike was regressed back to a child so she lived her life as a baby and met tenchi when she was 20. Sasami and Ayeka were in suspended animation for 700 years, so their bodies are still young. Sasami was biologically 8 years old when she met Tenchi, physically and mentally. He watched her grow up and then had sex with her AND her sister on a beach...AND her pet cat/rabbit...AND her sister's rival AND that girl's MOM. That's not a decent ending...that's WEIRD okay 😂. Come on, you aren't about to say it's not, are you?
I wish they'd continue one of the other Tenchi series. A second season of Universe would be so fun to see right now. None of the Ai Tenchi Muyo crap, though. The only thing they did correct with that show was bringing back Petrea, but then they DIDNT bring back KT Vogt!
@@shihoblade No she isn't. Her body was stuck in suspended animation for 700 years. Physically and mentally, she was 8 years old when the show started. Thank you for that. I will but I did this on a humbug because I found it was funny that happened. If I am to do videos it would be on themes I see in anime that people tend not to talk about. Uramichi Onii-San looks like the next one because that show is special

A mortal mind will definitely feel off when in a new environment like knowing the god in that sides universe finally isn't a virgin 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Well my mind is already beyond the human limit's that's why it's killing my body because it's not strong enough to take the stress. But I'm already afraid to train it because my finger tap can become a stab or slap with little effort so I suck at my controls. And as for my mental resistance I can at least create Eldritch Horror in my mind and say to my body to ignore the pain. As for the side effects too much intrusive thoughts like it can be a world problem scale level. It's also pretty good and fixable enough for positive and negative impacts with the cost of sanity and views.
OVA 1 and 2 of Tenchi Muyo were peak. It all goes downhill after that. OVA 3 4 and 5 were not well recieved. It alienated fans because of all the research you had to do to follow along. The spin offs were made canon and the anime ends with Tenchi doing the deed will all his distant relatives. Even the cat computer and Sasami. A lot of the harem girls who had agency and character development just lose it and become one of Tenchi's many wives. It's a terrible way to end the main series. There are other men out there, and none of them think to move on from Tenchi. It's depressing and anticlimactic. Tenchi is such a stone brick and never really develops either. He's just there. Existing. Most of the harem just like Tenchi because he's nice or cute. I can't get behind that. A ton of characters were introduced from the spin offs and the focus shifted away from Tenchi and the main cast so much fans just didn't care anymore. So they tuned out. I was one of those fans. So I skipped to OVA 5 just to see how it would end. And I was like. Dude. No. This is bad. Like. Masaki writing doujinshi levels of bad. It's a shame how this anime was one of the first in the harem drama, and then quickly lost the plot and just drags with exposition and nothing else. Masaki Kajishima pretty much ruined any real chance of Tenchi Muyo being popular again. He was so fixated on making his naughty Tenchi Muyo doujinshi canon that he went and did it. I never want to see this series again. It turned out to be Highschool DXD levels of nonsensical. Tenchi Muyo lost what made it unique. What made it unique? It's compelling story and dramatic mystery with beautiful women. And for that it will never recover without a serious redo of the whole Ryoh-Oki story. I like harem anime, but most are supposed to be a joke or straight up fan service with risky stuff. The story isn't really supposed to matter in a harem anime. Tenchi Muyo on the other hand was a story driven anime that became a parody of itself. And I'm disgusted by it. Rant over.
I agree with you. I was never a fan of Ryo-ohki being a part of the harem. The catgirl/animal fetish thing I was never a fan of. But as a big time Tenchi fan, like others said we already knew this was coming 🤣 The Tenchi universe is vast and there are a lot of external things besides the anime like novels, interviews, etc. that really expand the universe. As great as Tenchi is, certain elements of it like Tenchi x Ryo Ohki leave a bad taste in my mouth. This show is much more mature than what you probably remember watching on Toonami 🤣🤣
Watching this as a kid, I actually didn't know this was coming. It wasn't until I found out online some years back that all of his works end in harems. But I still didn't want to believe it. Then OVA3 happened and it was all downhill from there.
@@YophiGames Yess. The story is good but kind of boring. Just happy harem life with 4 Gods so there really aren’t any REAL problems… I miss the battles and conflict from the first 3 OVAs. So don't throw out standard principles when they are operating under them, but throw them out when the show decides to break them with polygamy, incest, and beastiality? It's just weird man. It is.
@@YophiGames
There are two problems here:
The first problem, here, is that you use the example of Ryo-Ohki being a cat.
Your cat doesn't possess a genius level intellect.
Your cat isn't a crystaline space battleship computer core.
Your cat isn't half crystaline lifeform, half psionic matter-antimatter gestelt polymorph.
Your cat isn't _sapient._
Ryo-ohki has looked like an adorable abomination to nature for the longest time, yes. But Ryo-Ohki isn't a _CAT._
I would like to point you at mythology now. Humans have a pretty regular habit of coming up with creatures that very obviously what they thought a human x [creature] crossbreed would be. Centaurs come to mind. Sphinx comes to mind. Beowulf just gave me a call, had a nice chat there. And pretty much most of the stories involving Zeus can be summed up as:
"Zeus no!"
"Zeus _YES!"_
So if the worst offense of Ryo-Ohki seducing Tenchi after all this time (because given that creature's enthusiasm for loving the hell out of Tenchi, she went after HIM, not the other way around) is that she 'looked' like a cat-rabbit hybrid until she wasn't, that's actually downright tame.
Hilariously, it's ALMOST verbatum stated that: 'Earthlings tend to find it weird because their unenhanced lifespans are so short that they only ever partner with people of similar age, and for the purpose of producing offspring.'
At the risk of oversimplifying a topic worth a small book, we ARE staring into a series that is seriously looking at how most people measure relationship hierarchies, 'time', and go "What if lifespans are SO long, all our socially acceptable norms go out the window?'
I mean, if you want to go down the rabbit hole, Ryoko is a creeper.
And the more you defend it…the more it shows your agreement with the sick and twisted. It’s not insulting my intelligence, no matter how much you think, I’m your sick and twisted mind, that you have a point. I’ve had quite enough OF that mind, so I’ll gladly take the first exit of THAT airline.
Hahahaha! This harem ending has long been something we knew was coming. I had your reaction back before OVA 3 came out, but then folks walked me through why Tenchi would marry them all. Politically, the marriage is a good one, hence the reason Jurai and Mihoshi's family have no objections.

Don’t you think that the Bioroid story would make a great anime or at least movie? It would also satisfy the fans that miss the action from the first 3 OVAs.

2:15 You need help. You're sick! 😂
The best part is that it was foreshadowed early in the ova's and we all thought it was a joke
Tenchi Universe is still the best of them all aside from Ova 1 and 2
Agreed and Tenchi Forever! The Movie was a piece of art great ending to the series. If they ever reboot it should be the universe series.
@@Savagewolver I'd say Tenchi still would have had two wives- Kyoko and Ayeka. Even the opening suggested that it had to be the two of them .
@@zabykat bro that movie made me cry in the end. He spent such a great time with Haruna but he can't keep her memories. Damn it hurts.
@@ambientwishwalker8908It seems like he still does my favorite line from the end of the movie "When I draw I feel things I lost touch with but are still there in my heart" he was able to remember Ryoko through his paintings and like wise Haruna.
What makes it worse is if tenchi becomes kami in the future and makes the three goddesses, then he is in fact washu and tsunami's father, ryoko and ryo-ohki, and fuku's grandfather as well as mihoshi's ancestor
He's nasty
its because Ryo Ohki was a FULL Grown adult and they are MARRIED.... but still I get your point here
I didn't like it when ryo ohki got a humanoid body, I felt like it ruined the character a bit, but seeing ryo ohki grow up and fuku grown up salvaged it for me. The only remaining issue is that ryo ohki is still making cat noises instead of speaking which puts it in bestiality territory instead of mild fury.

I laughed so hard at this scene as well nice vid!
@@schroederthepianoboy4498 There's a reason I kinda enjoy RyoAyeTen as my personal OTP3 polycule (mainly thanks to Universe...)
I guess what is worth to me is we only see Ryoko's and Ayeka's offsprings in this ep (even with Ryo-Ohki being pregnant in same ep, eww god)
this is today's reality, and sacratism is now considered discrimination. How I see it, all the women were okay with it and gave Tenchi their blessing. Futhermore, Tenchi hails from a family with great wealth to support his loved ones. You cant hate on that.
worst part is, that this part was edited out of the Crunchyroll version, I seen OVA 5 twice and missed this.
Lol didn't even see that version and that is even more interesting
@@SimpleMusingsfor me my ending is sometime after the 90s, it's weird unless it's just marriage but no relationships or sex if that makes sense?
I'm glad I'm not the only one, these are not the same characters I remember watching. Ryoko would never in a million years would be a part of this.
Also Ryoko and Ryo-Ohki are technically Washu's daughters. Washu Hakubi is also Mihoshi's great great grandmother plus the sister of Tsunami.
@@AstroNerdBoy Yeah but politics doesn't always help 😏
But if kami tenchi created the choushin does that mean that they are his daughters?
Short answer: No. Nothing is Sacrid.
Nothing is allowed to die.
So come sasami’s turn, will a fourth gen jurai ship pop out?
On God fam, I understanddddd him marrying erbody else, but damn it 😤 they just had to add ryo-ohki 🤦🏾♀️ that's where I draw the damn line bruh
Same here 😆
wait so ryo ohki's triplets.......are tenchi's kids
If you mean the ones in this episode, those are the cabbit clones from GXP.
It was a great ending. All the fans who are shippers are happy because all of the combinations came true.
Except the fans who desired that Tenchi marry one of them and not a cat/rabbit. 😂
Are they sl*ts or wh*res? how can people be comfortable with these characters after this scene?
agree with this video. I get it, it's a harem anime, but they didn't need to go there. Oh well.
It kinda was always canon just was no shown for western audiences till now
I've always really disliked Sasami and Ryo-ohki being included in Tenchi's harem. Unnecessary and kinda creepy.
Why? They are both older than him. Sasami is older than Ryoko....
@@shihoblade No she isn't. Her body was stuck in suspended animation for 700 years. Physically and mentally, she was 8 years old when the show started. She may be an adult by the time he marries her, but he met her when she was 8 years old. And Ryo-Ohki is a cat/rabbit. It being older than him doesn't make sleeping with your house pet cool.
This is great. You don't do videos? You should do more.
Thank you for that. I will but I did this on a humbug because I found it was funny that happened. If I am to do videos it would be on themes I see in anime that people tend not to talk about. Uramichi Onii-San looks like the next one because that show is special

@SimpleMusings sorry I don't really check my chat comments lol.
And as for my reply.
True.
A mortal mind will definitely feel off when in a new environment like knowing the god in that sides universe finally isn't a virgin 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well my mind is already beyond the human limit's that's why it's killing my body because it's not strong enough to take the stress.
Rant over.

But as a big time Tenchi fan, like others said we already knew this was coming 🤣
The Tenchi universe is vast and there are a lot of external things besides the anime like novels, interviews, etc. that really expand the universe.
