@@Merc_CW the event was the crash between Bottas and Russell at Imola 2021 as others have stated, but when Toto was talking to Sky F1 TV, in the interview where Toto publicly says about the Clio cup, it was either post race interviews at Imola, but I think more likely it was at the next Grand Prix after Imola. As Toto then had time to tell Russell. Apparently on their plane journey out of Imola, Toto gave Russell a big dressing down and it was there where he said to Russell about the Clio cup.
I have an interesting one for you guys: McLaren "allegedly" paid the $100 million fine for Spygate in 2007. That's no small amount. Under normal circumstances, that would be enough to make a small team go bankrupt and deeply damage a big team's chances at winning for the following years. However, McLaren seemed to have no issues developing the next year's car, which would eventually take Hamilton to his 1st title. Considering how little of an impact the huge fine seemed to have on the team's performance, I believe McLaren did *not* actually pay it. Instead, the reached a secret agreement with the FIA in order to waive it and have them tell everyone they had paid. What was the deal, you might ask? Well, imagine you're the FIA back in 2007. McLaren, the drivers and constructors championship leader, got caught spying on Ferrari. They got disqualified from the constructors' but, If they then were to go on to win the drivers title that year, that would look really bad for F1 and its credibility. So, and here's my belief: *I think that McLaren threw away the 2007 drivers championship intentionally, in order not to pay the $100 million fine for Spygate.* That way, everybody would win (well, except for Alonso and Hamilton): McLaren wouldn't have to pay an exorbitant amount of money and the FIA wouldn't have to deal with the bad press of having a cheating team win the championship.

The flaw I find in your theory is that the 2008 cars were merely evolutions of the 2007 cars which as we know mclarens car was already fast. So regardless they would be fast in 2008. I believe they did pay that fine n it took from what they could pump into the development of the 2009 car hence them having a down year that year
RE Senna 1990. I remember reading a few writings from the time that suggested there was no mechanism to deny Senna the title after the collision. He couldn't be disqualified from a race he hadn't finished, the race couldn't be awarded to Prost and there was no precedent to disqualify Senna from the championship. Maybe as a result this was toughened up - such that Schumacher championship 2nd place DQ in 1997 was possible?
True but also a lot of Schumi antics in 94 helped. I guess when 3 people are crowned champion with a few years by taking out there rival it sets a nasty precedent
@@nytarT1 I did read that Williams had ideas about protesting the 1994 result but elected not to because they were still recovering from Senna's death, wanted closure on the season- and also they had the constructors title, which was always Frank's #1 aim anyway. It was probably these incidents combined that led to the FIA putting their foot down and making it clear a driver could be DQed from the championship as a whole. I reckon Abu Dhabi 21 would have finished much sooner had that not been the case.
this is correct. I believe Schumacher in 1997 paid the price for his antics in 94 but also paid for the cumulative 89 90 Senna Prost final race antics in a bid from the FIA to stamp out dirty title deciders. Proof is in that Villeneuve was able to finish the race in jerez 97 and win the championship however the whole world was disgusted by schumis conduct at the time and the FIA still went above and beyond and just booted him out of the entire 1997 season. I believe left to his own devices, Balestre would have done the same to senna in 1990 but I think his hands were tied after 1989....Senna would have quit the sport if they did and thats a price the FIA wouldnt be prepared to pay and in his shrewdness I think senna knew he could get away with punting him of the track :) Prost 1 Senna 1

Mercedes was ahead of everyone else from 2014 because they were the only manifacturer that knew how to build hybrid engines. In fact, they started testing them in 2005 on road cars. I know that an F1 engine is a totally different matter, but at least they had a basis to work on. Moreover, Bernie admitted indirectly that F1 switched to hybrid engines in order to keep Mercedes in F1 (yeah, they already wanted to quit after 2012 bcs of the mediocre results they had as Mercedes expected already to win when they came back in 2010. Merc had already some poltical power because they were and are still an F1 sponsor because they provide safety cars and medical cars ). And the rest is history.
I hate how people called their cars illegal. Although the cars were fast, they were within rules. No illegal engine, no plagarism of the car, no illegal parts, no illegal driver aids.
Afaik, this actually happened. Most manufacturers (especially Renault, who were champions with Red Bull) had already began R&D of inline 4-cylinder engines, as it was the most probable step as far as the paddock was concerned. Mercedes, who had already spent around a billion dollars on their hybrid v6 technology proposed this as an alternative, and soon, threatened to quit F1 if the 2014 regulations went with the inline-4(s). This is also corroborated by just how ridiculously bad and underpowered Renault & Ferrari engines were that year. Mercedes essentially had a decade and a billion dollars worth of headstart. It took Ferrari until 2019 to claw back the horsepower deficiency (which was soon deemed illegal, so technically it took them until 2022). It took Honda until 2021, and Renault until 2022* (they seem to have the horsepower this year but lack reliability, so they're still a little behind).
It was early after the 08 financial crisis so Bernie didn't want to lose more teams I guess. I'm surprised that all the teams signed up for these expensive complicated and heavy hybrids. Renault wanted them. So they deserved to get their a$$es wooped.

One my father told me and avidly believes, is that Ferrari sabotaged Irvine's 1999 season because they wanted Schumacher to win Ferrari's first title back on top again after all the efforts he put in with the team.
I mean, if their stupid brakes didn't fail at Silverstone, Schumacher would have easily won in 99, considering how close Irvine was to Mika and how far ahead Michael already was in the standings compared to him by Silverstone.

My conspiracy is Ricciardo and Redbull 2018. Daniel had announced he’ll be moving to Renault and then he magically has mechanical retirements in majority of the remaining races. In a season when he won 2/6 races at the start. Could’ve been a challenge to take to Ferrari and Mercedes. Maybe not all season wrong but Daniel could’ve gotten P3. In my opinion Redbull sabotaged Daniel.

Di Montezemolo (ex-Ferrari team boss) had such a dislike against Michael Schumacher that he was finally able to outfox him politically in 2006 and become responsible for his early retirement. The Italian team principal always wanted to turn Scuderia Ferrari into a Real Madrid of F1, with the two best in one team (much like McLaren in the 80s). His first attempt was to get Häkkinen next to Schumacher in a Ferrari. Schumacher, with Jean Todt and Ross Brawn on his side vetoed the idea and while they were winning races and championships, they had the biggest say in the team. But when Schumacher's winning streak came at an end, Di Montezemolo went at it again. Massa's 2006 season would be temporary, because in 2007 Schumacher would be paired with Kimi Räikkönen. When Schumacher and Todt did not agree to that, Di Montezemolo finally had the German where he wanted him: "Either you'll race alongside Kimi or you won't race at all, it is cheaper to buy you out than it is with Kimi." At Monza, against his will, Schumacher announced his retirement. But the foundation of this under the surface fued was that the feathers of Ferrari were strutted by the trio of Schumacher, Todt and Brawn and not by the narcist Luca Di Montezemolo. Personal friction drove the GOAT of the sport towards an early exit.
He had nothing personal against Michael. He just wanted his power back, which he had lost over the years to Schumacher, Todt and Brawn. But in the long run he shot himself in the foot. McLaren was adament to cut costs and would give 2nd seat to test driver De La Rosa or talent Lewis Hamilton. 4. In the end, teams decide which drivers they take on.

I have a conspiracy regarding this years Ferrari: there are a lot of similarities between the Haas and the Ferrari and this is not a coincidence: since Haas have the most wind tunnel time this year, Ferrari made a deal with Haas, so that Haas tests some of Ferraris designs and concepts and share their findings, this way they have way more wind tunnel time than Mercedes or Red Bull. This would explain why Ferrari is still ahead without any major upgrades and why Haas are financially stable after losing their most important sponsor. 🤔
HAAS has always been financially stable. They’ve always had a security blanket. Gene Haas is a very very very rich man. It was never that the team/him didn’t have money. It was that he didn’t want to spend the money when he could get someone else to foot the bill, hence chasing sponsors. Now that he sees that not all money is good money, and the moral of the team can be heavily influenced by who’s in the car, he is going to invest more in the team, and the team will stabilize to where they were in 16,17,18.
Haas and Ferrari definitely shared Data but its a fact that Ferrari have been working on the 2022 for a very long time. Longer than RedBull and Mercedes who were in a title fight last year
That's an interesting idea but I don't think they will risk it because after the "pink Mercedes" scandal it's a bit harder to just rip off fundamental hypotheses without the CFD proof of what you want those fundamental concepts to lead to and achieve in terms of downforce levels.
I got 1 crazy conspiracy: Ferarri FORCED Michael Schumacher to retire in 2006 because Luca de Montezemelo (forgive the horrific spelling😂) was afraid that the dream team of Schumacher, Todt and Brawn were trying to take control of the team from him. I fully agree with the 89/90 theory, it makes a lot of sense and I think everyone knows how whether Prost liked it or not, he was in the FIA’s pocket for many years. I also think there’s a lot more “interesting” events that went on with Mercedes/ Hamilton than they or anyone let’s on as far back as when they were designing the PU for 2014
My F1 conspiracy: Lewis didn’t have covid in 2020 and Mercedes faked his illness to give George Russel a race to test him as a potential driver. Lewis had won the championship and returned to racing for the next Grand Prix without many complications or lingering symptoms. Also, covid at the the time was rampant, so nobody questioned Lewis testing positive.
Danny Ric’s 2020 with Renault is definitely a top 3 season in his career, his dominance over Ocon, getting the team’s first Podium since their return to F1, and nearly taking them to a P3 in the Championship was amazing
Here's 1 for y'all: Ron Dennis is a lot more dodgy than anyone suspects he is. I reckon he absolutely knew about Spygate from day 1 and tried to bully Hamilton, Alonso and De La Rosa into not snitching to Max Mosley (Alonso, being Alonso, just did whatever the hell he wanted and reported it anyway). I also reckon that he is deliberately using his influence as the UK's business ambassador (he fell upwards into that job after McLaren due to his Tory connections) to try and get McLaren to fail financially. I feel like he probably really hates the way the team is now where it's run by a globally-minded American with a marketing background that puts a huge amount of importance on community and fan interaction. There's also a possibility that he was the person who tipped the British press off about Max Mosley's 'parties'...
I'd believe that, but I also think every team owner in F1 is a lot dodgier than we think. Historically, people like Flavio Briatore and Tom Walkinshaw were running teams. If they were in any business other than F1, they'd have gone to prison for their frauds and dodgy dealings

Leclerc was just better at driving the car they gave him, it's been a fairly noticeable trend with Vettel that if he isn't comfortable with the car then he can't adapt. There are far easier ways to get rid of a driver than self sabotage, you just replace them.

My Conspiracy: 1997 Jerez: Sauber replacement driver Norberto Fontana was offered a contract for Sauber for 1998 if he blocked Villeneuve for a large duration of the 1997 European GP to retain Ferrari's engines for the coming years. Because Schumacher didn't win the championship regardless, he was not offered a seat for 1998.

I have one. Renault sabotaged Hulk to make him look like the issue for their weak 2019 so there would be a big points gap between him and Ric. This boosted Ric's morale and bringing a weaker driver in (Ocon) and for French Marketing, while Cyril wasn't blamed so he wasn't fired.
Perez to Red Bull was already a done deal when Seb signed with Aston. Red Bull just delayed revealing that to avoid the appearance of being eager to drop Albon. Horner downplayed Albon's podium in Bahrain way too much (practically said Perez deserved it) for it to have not already been set in stone. Further, Perez does not seem to hold any grudge against the Silverstone outfit despite supposedly being dropped mid-contract and left without a seat.
Regarding the Senna theory - according to the Bring Back V10s podcast Balestre wasn't at the track at Japan 1990, and was furious that Senna hadn't been punished. But it's credible to think that the stewards didn't take action because of the context of 1989.

Mine: Valtteri’s car was sabotaged a number of times on the orders of Toto to prevent him from beating or fighting Hamilton more often than he did during his time with Merc. This is on top of the sometimes nonsensical engine changes and the track position switches.

This reminds me of a video that was on early RUclips times. Like late 2000s. A man, in a ski mask, uploaded a video claiming "they" killed Ayrton Senna. He could not say who "they" were, because "they" would kill him. He claimed that somehow, without giving motive, Williams rigged the F1 car to specifically crash in exactly the way it did. But he couldn't even convince a young kid like me. But man that was a trip to watch.
I have a conspiracy of my own that may sound a bit strange: McLaren sabotaged their 2006 season by making a slower car than earlier to allow Alonso to the title. I wonder whether Alonso may have persuaded Ron Dennis to make a slower car to allow him run away with the Championship for Renault, during their private meeting at the end of 2005.
@@damoncrossan3827 Yeah but if you take a close look, 2006 was the only season in the 2000's where McLaren failed to win a single race and with the streak being a temporary one, this does invite deep discussions. Also Montoya had left the team midway through the season so he might have known a thing or two about the deal. Again Fernando Alonso was quite a competitive driver who would probably do anything to win. Assuming the fact that he was so loyal to Flavio and Renault, he might have asked for something ridiculous from Ron to leave Enstone for Woking, that's why I think the thought of McLaren sabotaging their 2006 campaign for Fernando comes to mind.

Another controversial topic about Ayrton senna that might be worth mentioning, It is for the most part believed that on his final race when he hit the barrier and sadly died, that the reason that the Williams team gave for him hitting the barrier (Which was because of oversteer correction, loss of downforce because of bottoming out, and a slight lack of grip due to colder tires after the safety car finished a lap prior, and driver error) was a cover up to hide the true reason, which was a mechanical failure on the steering column due to a poor weld job after Senna requested adjustments to be made to the steering during a practice session. People points out that if it would’ve been due the loss of grip in the fronts because of cooled down tires after the race resumed a lap or two prior, they say why didn’t the crash occur at lap 6 and not 7, another point being why wasn’t there any turn input to the right when the supposed moment of correction of oversteer took place. There’s many other things like the shaking of the steering wheel moving around and how Michele Alboreto said that wasn’t “normal” at all which contradicts the william’s team saying it was, how senna’s steering wheel slightly came lose towards his body a fraction of a second before the on board video feed cut off, and why the video feed was cut off a second before impact in the first place, and a few other inconsistencies within William’s story on the events that caused the crash during the trial against them for manslaughter. Ngl I’d like to see your thoughts on this, though personally I do believe the cause of the crash was because of some mechanical failure involving an issue with steering.

one I believe at Abu Dhabi 2010, Red Bull knew pitting early was the wrong call, but still pitted Webber to give Vettel, who was their preferred driver, the best shot at the title
One conspiracy theory that crops up from time to time is that Mercedes promised Nico Rosberg at least one world title and that they sabotaged Hamilton's car repeatedly to help make that happen. These point to Hamilton repeatedly having bad starts, PU problems that left him out of position in China and Russia, then there was the engine failure in Malaysia. While these were significant moments that impacted the battle between them in 2016, it does a disservice to Nico Rosberg. Hamilton may have had his problems in 2016, but he still won 10 races that season and with Rosberg winning 9 times and in general being more consistent in finishing races (Spain, where he collided with Hamilton on lap 1 was his only retirement that season) there was a reason he ended up winning the title by 5 points.
Hamilton was never a good starter. We saw it last year as well, then mercedes upgraded their engine for better starts. And malaysia can be explained by pure luck. Rosberg was actually good that year, he overperformed

for the Mercedes Engine conspiracy: a smaller team has no chance making an engine only to scrap it if the regulations changes, this puts Merc at an advantage where they would build new prototype engines as the rules changed, it is also rumored that the MGU-H is something they had developed and lobbied for alongside KERS, again putting other teams on the backfoot, the bigger teams were also not interested in developing an engine until the rules were set in stone

Here’s mine: the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix incident where Lewis and Nico collided was forced upon Lewis by the FIA because they would be willing to pay Lewis to take out his own teammate because the FIA were tired of Nico basically dominating the season because up to that point, Nico had won majority of the races leading up the Spanish GP apart from one, the Aussie GP which Lewis had won, and thus the collision, also when Nico won the championship and had announced his retirement at the FIA gala, he had learnt about the deal that Lewis and the FIA had thus he decided to retire and not continue till his original contract which was until 2018, idk if this makes sense and it might be shaky, just some fuel for thought

Alain Prost was fired from Renault following the 1983 season, not because he lost the title and criticized the car (as they were very keen on having the first french champion on a french car), but because he slept with his team boss's wife. In fact, as a reprisal, a few mechanics were sent to Prost residence to set fire to his road car. Nelson Piquet even made jokes referencing this over the years.
So about the pole position being swapped at Suzuka Pole position had always been on the dirty side of the track at Suzuka, ever since F1 raced there in 1988. It stayed there in 89 as well. What happened was that Senna requested the pole position to be moved over to the clean side of the track (most likely because of his poor start from pole in 89) and the stewards said no. Now of course there's a lot of hearsay, some claim that the stewards agreed to swap pole to the clean side only to go back on their word. I don't belive that to be true either as there's no real evidence of it, but who knows, maybe there is some truth to that somewhere. Ultimately, it set Senna off and he wanted things to go his way and the rest is history (Before you all get on me, I'm saying this as a Senna fan)
I think saying that pole position had been swapped at all kind if detracts from what Senna wanted. In 89, Prost completely jumped Senna at the start, and he had to claw his way back to the top. Senna is the one who wanted pole swapped so it wouldn’t happen again.

In Hamilton's debut in year he was outstanding until Japan his first real "mistake" It was the spygate year McLaren fined $$100 Million. The team lost their points but the drivers retaining theirs. So towards the end of the year in Japan "It Happened" I was screaming at the TV for him to pit for tyres about 3 laps later the team called him in, he did and was in the kitty litter at the pit entrance. End of World Championship. I sent letters to many motoring editors - not one responce or acknowledgement. The memory is gone to most. So how could a driver of a punished team become World Champion?? Not possible
Michael Masi was told to do what he did in Abu Dhabi by Liberty Media. Latifi was told to spin off to trigger the safety car. There was literally no reason for him to suddenly spin at that point.
He was on the dusty side of the track, he did the same mistake in this year's Saudi GP. Also if Latifi was part of a conspiracy, why wouldn't they make him spin a lap earlier and spare us of the safety car shitshow? That just doesn't make a lot of sense

DTS didn't actually help max and therefore the statement about new fans wanting verstappen to win isn't true. Netflix made max the villain in DTS so new fans are more likely to actually hate him.
If anything, that would give them a hard time, ad Max didn't like how he was portrayed in the series and refused to be part of it. This explains why you only see stock footage of him in season 4.
My conspiracy theory is that Russell and Bottas crashed on purpose at Imola 2021 to help get Hamilton back onto the lead lap after his mistake in the gravel. The red flag helped Hamilton massively.
In 1989 Prost would have been the champion even if he wasn't disqualified in Japan. With the win in Japan he would have had 69 points (nice!) and Prost had 76 points.

So I have video ideas for you, the first one is to try recreating f1 drives hair cut, sine you mentioned that you were a barber. I think it would be a very interesting video. About Senna and Prost in 89/90, Balestre years later admitted he DSQ Senna in 89 to help Prost. Which is completely idiotic because there was still one race to go and Senna would need to win again to keep his hopes alive. In 1990 they couldn't do anything because there was a gap there and none of them finished the race anyway, it would also be extremely extremly hurtful to the sport if the championship was decided by FIA two years in a row, that's why I think they didn't do anything, in my eyes if Balestre could find a way to hurt Senna in 1990 he would but he just couldn't.
You got the hybrid conspiracy a little wrong, Bernie Ecclestone admitted that Mercedes were in fact allowed to help FIA come up with the 2014 hybrid engine regulations. And that they based it off of an engine they had already previously built, which is most likely the engine that Luca the Di Montezemolo was referencing. The result was a team that has dominated more than any other team in f1 history. Mercedes themselves admit to never running their power units at full power to hide their advantage and thus keeping it. The fact that Bernie admitted it and the resulting dominance kinda makes this more credible if not plainly true. Mercedes had such an engine advantage, they could work on crazy suspension designs without the fear of rival team is catching up. The hybrid engine era has been a sham and a farce. It seems like F1 is in good hands now with liberty, the first regulation set since they took over so far has been a pretty good success with multiple teams fighting at the front. And it seems like Mercedes doesn’t have an engine advantage anymore and they’re basically where they were in 2013 and before.

McLaren "allegedly" paid the $100 million fine for Spygate in 2007. That's no small amount. Under normal circumstances, that would be enough to make a small team go bankrupt and deeply damage a big team's chances at winning for the following years. However, McLaren seemed to have no issues developing the next year's car, which would eventually take Hamilton to his 1st title.
Considering how little of an impact the huge fine seemed to have on the team's performance, I believe McLaren did *not* actually pay it. Instead, the reached a secret agreement with the FIA in order to waive it and have them tell everyone they had paid.
What was the deal, you might ask? Well, imagine you're the FIA back in 2007. McLaren, the drivers and constructors championship leader, got caught spying on Ferrari. They got disqualified from the constructors' but, If they then were to go on to win the drivers title that year, that would look really bad for F1 and its credibility. So, and here's my belief: *I think that McLaren threw away the 2007 drivers championship intentionally, in order not to pay the $100 million fine for Spygate.* That way, everybody would win (well, except for Alonso and Hamilton): McLaren wouldn't have to pay an exorbitant amount of money and the FIA wouldn't have to deal with the bad press of having a cheating team win the championship.

The flaw I find in your theory is that the 2008 cars were merely evolutions of the 2007 cars which as we know mclarens car was already fast. So regardless they would be fast in 2008.

RE Senna 1990. I remember reading a few writings from the time that suggested there was no mechanism to deny Senna the title after the collision. He couldn't be disqualified from a race he hadn't finished, the race couldn't be awarded to Prost and there was no precedent to disqualify Senna from the championship. Maybe as a result this was toughened up - such that Schumacher championship 2nd place DQ in 1997 was possible?

@@nytarT1 I did read that Williams had ideas about protesting the 1994 result but elected not to because they were still recovering from Senna's death, wanted closure on the season- and also they had the constructors title, which was always Frank's #1 aim anyway. It was probably these incidents combined that led to the FIA putting their foot down and making it clear a driver could be DQed from the championship as a whole. I reckon Abu Dhabi 21 would have finished much sooner had that not been the case.
this is correct. I believe Schumacher in 1997 paid the price for his antics in 94 but also paid for the cumulative 89 90 Senna Prost final race antics in a bid from the FIA to stamp out dirty title deciders. Proof is in that Villeneuve was able to finish the race in jerez 97 and win the championship however the whole world was disgusted by schumis conduct at the time and the FIA still went above and beyond and just booted him out of the entire 1997 season.

Mercedes was ahead of everyone else from 2014 because they were the only manifacturer that knew how to build hybrid engines. In fact, they started testing them in 2005 on road cars. I know that an F1 engine is a totally different matter, but at least they had a basis to work on. Moreover, Bernie admitted indirectly that F1 switched to hybrid engines in order to keep Mercedes in F1 (yeah, they already wanted to quit after 2012 bcs of the mediocre results they had as Mercedes expected already to win when they came back in 2010. Merc had already some poltical power because they were and are still an F1 sponsor because they provide safety cars and medical cars ). And the rest is history.
I hate how people called their cars illegal. Although the cars were fast, they were within rules. No illegal engine, no plagarism of the car, no illegal parts, no illegal driver aids.

Afaik, this actually happened. Most manufacturers (especially Renault, who were champions with Red Bull) had already began R&D of inline 4-cylinder engines, as it was the most probable step as far as the paddock was concerned. Mercedes, who had already spent around a billion dollars on their hybrid v6 technology proposed this as an alternative, and soon, threatened to quit F1 if the 2014 regulations went with the inline-4(s).
This is also corroborated by just how ridiculously bad and underpowered Renault & Ferrari engines were that year. Mercedes essentially had a decade and a billion dollars worth of headstart. It took Ferrari until 2019 to claw back the horsepower deficiency (which was soon deemed illegal, so technically it took them until 2022). It took Honda until 2021, and Renault until 2022* (they seem to have the horsepower this year but lack reliability, so they're still a little behind).

My conspiracy is Ricciardo and Redbull 2018. Daniel had announced he’ll be moving to Renault and then he magically has mechanical retirements in majority of the remaining races. In a season when he won 2/6 races at the start. Could’ve been a challenge to take to Ferrari and Mercedes. Maybe not all season wrong but Daniel could’ve gotten P3.

But the foundation of this under the surface fued was that the feathers of Ferrari were strutted by the trio of Schumacher, Todt and Brawn and not by the narcist Luca Di Montezemolo. 1. McLaren had signed Alonso the year before (2005) for the season after (2007).
2. Schumacher (50mln per year) and Raikkonen (60mln per year) were at that time by far the most expensive drivers on the grid. Alonso drove for only 6 mln per year at Renault and saw his salary tripled when going to McLaren, but it was still only a third of what MSC or RAI earned at the time.
3. McLaren was adament to cut costs and would give 2nd seat to test driver De La Rosa or talent Lewis Hamilton.
4. In the end, teams decide which drivers they take on.

I have a conspiracy regarding this years Ferrari: there are a lot of similarities between the Haas and the Ferrari and this is not a coincidence: since Haas have the most wind tunnel time this year, Ferrari made a deal with Haas, so that Haas tests some of Ferraris designs and concepts and share their findings, this way they have way more wind tunnel time than Mercedes or Red Bull. This would explain why Ferrari is still ahead without any major upgrades and why Haas are financially stable after losing their most important sponsor. 🤔
HAAS has always been financially stable. They’ve always had a security blanket. Gene Haas is a very very very rich man. It was never that the team/him didn’t have money. It was that he didn’t want to spend the money when he could get someone else to foot the bill, hence chasing sponsors. Now that he sees that not all money is good money, and the moral of the team can be heavily influenced by who’s in the car, he is going to invest more in the team, and the team will stabilize to where they were in 16,17,18.

That's an interesting idea but I don't think they will risk it because after the "pink Mercedes" scandal it's a bit harder to just rip off fundamental hypotheses without the CFD proof of what you want those fundamental concepts to lead to and achieve in terms of downforce levels.

My F1 conspiracy: Lewis didn’t have covid in 2020 and Mercedes faked his illness to give George Russel a race to test him as a potential driver. Lewis had won the championship and returned to racing for the next Grand Prix without many complications or lingering symptoms. Also, covid at the the time was rampant, so nobody questioned Lewis testing positive.

I reckon he absolutely knew about Spygate from day 1 and tried to bully Hamilton, Alonso and De La Rosa into not snitching to Max Mosley (Alonso, being Alonso, just did whatever the hell he wanted and reported it anyway).
I also reckon that he is deliberately using his influence as the UK's business ambassador (he fell upwards into that job after McLaren due to his Tory connections) to try and get McLaren to fail financially. I feel like he probably really hates the way the team is now where it's run by a globally-minded American with a marketing background that puts a huge amount of importance on community and fan interaction.
There's also a possibility that he was the person who tipped the British press off about Max Mosley's 'parties'...

Leclerc was just better at driving the car they gave him, it's been a fairly noticeable trend with Vettel that if he isn't comfortable with the car then he can't adapt. There are far easier ways to get rid of a driver than self sabotage, you just replace them.

My Conspiracy: 1997 Jerez: Sauber replacement driver Norberto Fontana was offered a contract for Sauber for 1998 if he blocked Villeneuve for a large duration of the 1997 European GP to retain Ferrari's engines for the coming years. Because Schumacher didn't win the championship regardless, he was not offered a seat for 1998.

Perez to Red Bull was already a done deal when Seb signed with Aston. Red Bull just delayed revealing that to avoid the appearance of being eager to drop Albon. Horner downplayed Albon's podium in Bahrain way too much (practically said Perez deserved it) for it to have not already been set in stone. Further, Perez does not seem to hold any grudge against the Silverstone outfit despite supposedly being dropped mid-contract and left without a seat.
Regarding the Senna theory - according to the Bring Back V10s podcast Balestre wasn't at the track at Japan 1990, and was furious that Senna hadn't been punished. But it's credible to think that the stewards didn't take action because of the context of 1989.

This reminds me of a video that was on early RUclips times. Like late 2000s. A man, in a ski mask, uploaded a video claiming "they" killed Ayrton Senna. He could not say who "they" were, because "they" would kill him. He claimed that somehow, without giving motive, Williams rigged the F1 car to specifically crash in exactly the way it did. But he couldn't even convince a young kid like me. But man that was a trip to watch.
I have a conspiracy of my own that may sound a bit strange: McLaren sabotaged their 2006 season by making a slower car than earlier to allow Alonso to the title. I wonder whether Alonso may have persuaded Ron Dennis to make a slower car to allow him run away with the Championship for Renault, during their private meeting at the end of 2005.

@@damoncrossan3827 Yeah but if you take a close look, 2006 was the only season in the 2000's where McLaren failed to win a single race and with the streak being a temporary one, this does invite deep discussions. Also Montoya had left the team midway through the season so he might have known a thing or two about the deal.
Again Fernando Alonso was quite a competitive driver who would probably do anything to win. Assuming the fact that he was so loyal to Flavio and Renault, he might have asked for something ridiculous from Ron to leave Enstone for Woking, that's why I think the thought of McLaren sabotaging their 2006 campaign for Fernando comes to mind.

Another controversial topic about Ayrton senna that might be worth mentioning, It is for the most part believed that on his final race when he hit the barrier and sadly died, that the reason that the Williams team gave for him hitting the barrier (Which was because of oversteer correction, loss of downforce because of bottoming out, and a slight lack of grip due to colder tires after the safety car finished a lap prior, and driver error) was a cover up to hide the true reason, which was a mechanical failure on the steering column due to a poor weld job after Senna requested adjustments to be made to the steering during a practice session.
People points out that if it would’ve been due the loss of grip in the fronts because of cooled down tires after the race resumed a lap or two prior, they say why didn’t the crash occur at lap 6 and not 7, another point being why wasn’t there any turn input to the right when the supposed moment of correction of oversteer took place. There’s many other things like the shaking of the steering wheel moving around and how Michele Alboreto said that wasn’t “normal” at all which contradicts the william’s team saying it was, how senna’s steering wheel slightly came lose towards his body a fraction of a second before the on board video feed cut off, and why the video feed was cut off a second before impact in the first place, and a few other inconsistencies within William’s story on the events that caused the crash during the trial against them for manslaughter.
Ngl I’d like to see your thoughts on this, though personally I do believe the cause of the crash was because of some mechanical failure involving an issue with steering.

One conspiracy theory that crops up from time to time is that Mercedes promised Nico Rosberg at least one world title and that they sabotaged Hamilton's car repeatedly to help make that happen.
These point to Hamilton repeatedly having bad starts, PU problems that left him out of position in China and Russia, then there was the engine failure in Malaysia. While these were significant moments that impacted the battle between them in 2016, it does a disservice to Nico Rosberg. Hamilton may have had his problems in 2016, but he still won 10 races that season and with Rosberg winning 9 times and in general being more consistent in finishing races (Spain, where he collided with Hamilton on lap 1 was his only retirement that season) there was a reason he ended up winning the title by 5 points.

Out of all your conspiracy vids, my favourite is your George Russel 2020 Sakhir one, simply cause once you add all the pieces it does create a very odd picture adding to what you said about the car carrying Lewis (and for that matter Nico) to the titles, co-relating to Bottas in that Merc being nowhere, but now in Alfa Romeo he is sky high and “MaFIA”, where they seemed to be let off the hook many times. Here’s mine: the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix incident where Lewis and Nico collided was forced upon Lewis by the FIA because they would be willing to pay Lewis to take out his own teammate because the FIA were tired of Nico basically dominating the season because up to that point, Nico had won majority of the races leading up the Spanish GP apart from one, the Aussie GP which Lewis had won, and thus the collision, also when Nico won the championship and had announced his retirement at the FIA gala, he had learnt about the deal that Lewis and the FIA had thus he decided to retire and not continue till his original contract which was until 2018, idk if this makes sense and it might be shaky, just some fuel for thought

Alain Prost was fired from Renault following the 1983 season, not because he lost the title and criticized the car (as they were very keen on having the first french champion on a french car), but because he slept with his team boss's wife. In fact, as a reprisal, a few mechanics were sent to Prost residence to set fire to his road car. Nelson Piquet even made jokes referencing this over the years.
So about the pole position being swapped at Suzuka
Pole position had always been on the dirty side of the track at Suzuka, ever since F1 raced there in 1988. It stayed there in 89 as well. What happened was that Senna requested the pole position to be moved over to the clean side of the track (most likely because of his poor start from pole in 89) and the stewards said no. Now of course there's a lot of hearsay, some claim that the stewards agreed to swap pole to the clean side only to go back on their word. I don't belive that to be true either as there's no real evidence of it, but who knows, maybe there is some truth to that somewhere. Ultimately, it set Senna off and he wanted things to go his way and the rest is history

I think saying that pole position had been swapped at all kind if detracts from what Senna wanted. In 89, Prost completely jumped Senna at the start, and he had to claw his way back to the top. Senna is the one who wanted pole swapped so it wouldn’t happen again.

In Hamilton's debut in year he was outstanding until Japan his first real "mistake"
It was the spygate year McLaren fined $$100 Million. The team lost their points but the drivers retaining theirs.
So towards the end of the year in Japan "It Happened" I was screaming at the TV for him to pit for tyres about 3 laps later the team called him in, he did and was in the kitty litter at the pit entrance. End of World Championship.
I sent letters to many motoring editors - not one responce or acknowledgement.
The memory is gone to most.
So how could a driver of a punished team become World Champion?? Not possible

Latifi was told to spin off to trigger the safety car. There was literally no reason for him to suddenly spin at that point.
He was on the dusty side of the track, he did the same mistake in this year's Saudi GP. Also if Latifi was part of a conspiracy, why wouldn't they make him spin a lap earlier and spare us of the safety car shitshow? That just doesn't make a lot of sense

I think F1 didn't like Ayrton Senna and wanted him gone, or something bigger he probably would have been president of Brazil and he was a great person and they generally don't allow them to have positions of power to help poor people and children and he was that man.

my conspiracy theory: F1 wanted Verstappen to win the championship in 2021 as they wanted to see an end to Lewis's/Mercedes' dominance. Also the buzz around DTS which brought in new and younger fans would have complemented the new and younger 'WDC'. Lastly, I truly believe that F1 did not want to see Lewis get 8 Wdc's and solidify himself as the undisputed GOAT as F1 still want to maintain that MSC/Ferrari legacy as the greatest
DTS didn't actually help max and therefore the statement about new fans wanting verstappen to win isn't true. Netflix made max the villain in DTS so new fans are more likely to actually hate him.

My conspiracy theory is that Russell and Bottas crashed on purpose at Imola 2021 to help get Hamilton back onto the lead lap after his mistake in the gravel. The red flag helped Hamilton massively.

Hi, I have been following your channel for quite a while, the first video I saw was you breaking down drivers haircut. So I have video ideas for you, the first one is to try recreating f1 drives hair cut, sine you mentioned that you were a barber. I think it would be a very interesting video.
The second one is to try compare f1 drivers/ teams with other sports, such as, ferrari = lakers, Mercedes = golden states warriors( because they also have rich history in their own sports and dominated in the same time). Kevin Durant=Lewis hamilton (people liked both of them until they joined superteams). If you read it till the end I'm very thankful for reading this.

About Senna and Prost in 89/90, Balestre years later admitted he DSQ Senna in 89 to help Prost. Which is completely idiotic because there was still one race to go and Senna would need to win again to keep his hopes alive. In 1990 they couldn't do anything because there was a gap there and none of them finished the race anyway, it would also be extremely extremly hurtful to the sport if the championship was decided by FIA two years in a row, that's why I think they didn't do anything, in my eyes if Balestre could find a way to hurt Senna in 1990 he would but he just couldn't.

You got the hybrid conspiracy a little wrong, Bernie Ecclestone admitted that Mercedes were in fact allowed to help FIA come up with the 2014 hybrid engine regulations. And that they based it off of an engine they had already previously built, which is most likely the engine that Luca the Di Montezemolo was referencing. The result was a team that has dominated more than any other team in f1 history. Mercedes themselves admit to never running their power units at full power to hide their advantage and thus keeping it. The fact that Bernie admitted it and the resulting dominance kinda makes this more credible if not plainly true. Mercedes had such an engine advantage, they could work on crazy suspension designs without the fear of rival team is catching up. The hybrid engine era has been a sham and a farce. It seems like F1 is in good hands now with liberty, the first regulation set since they took over so far has been a pretty good success with multiple teams fighting at the front. And it seems like Mercedes doesn’t have an engine advantage anymore and they’re basically where they were in 2013 and before.
This makes sense to me. Also explains Lewis’ brazil 2021 super drive,
