Cool reaction, remember these parts have other songs in between them connecting them.
The Wall is a continuous piece of music where all 26 tracks blend together. You have to listen to the entire album to understand it. Like picking a chapter in a book and expecting to understand the plot

Even though it's not technically one of the three parts of this song, The Happiest Days of Our Lives, which is right before Part 2, is an important part of the song. Really as others have said, the whole album should be played as one piece, but especially The Happies Days of Our Lives and Part 2 should be listened to together.

Part 2 is the only part that was played on the radio. You would only know about Part 1 and Part 3 if you listened to the album The Wall (1979) or watched the film Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982).
