Breakfast Flight in a MOONEY

- This is sort of my first try at making a flying type video and not a "building" video. It's a lot more difficult than making the build videos with the Cruzer! When I watch a video from someone like Trent Palmer, it looks so easy to make an interesting, action packed video that isn't too long and boring. Well, it's not as easy as it looks! I hope you like this one. I'm open to your comments on what you might like or don't like about the video. Don't just thumbs down it without providing me feedback!
Four of us from the airpark decided to create our own fly-in breakfast by packing our own food and flying to Oscoda Co. Airport (51M) and setting up a table and chairs and hosting our own little fly-in. Enjoy the footage and my attempt to tell a short story!
Please SUBSCRIBE and give the video a thumps up please.

Nice setup 👍🏽
This is what flying is about.
I agree. This is what makes aviation so much fun. I plan on doing a lot more of this kind of impromptu flying stuff this summer, although it will be in the Cruzer since I sold the Mooney.
I WANT TO LIVE IN A HOUSE LIKE THAT SO BAD ❤
Enjoyed watching this, awesome to see the social side of aviation.
That's what it's all about!
Awesome! You are a true gentleman.
Loved the steep turn footage from the wing! I'm gonna use that!
Awesome dude
What a great video! I have a question about your Mooney, though. I'm looking at a M20E, which is the same size as the C I'm pretty sure. I have myself, my wife, and my 13 year old son to haul around. I'm 6'1", my wife and son are both 5'7". Is the Mooney big enough for us? THANKS!!
I had a C model Mooney and it's a fairly small interior. I'm not sure about the E model. Best thing to do is go sit in it and try it on for size! There's not much space at all between the front and rear seats.
@@KitplaneEnthusiast Thanks! It's my understanding that the only difference between a C and an E is the C has a carbureted 180hp engine and the E has a fuel injected 200hp engine. I may be wrong, though. I flew in a C about 20 years ago and I don't remember there being a problem. I had just been in a C172, and the cabins were pretty much the same as far as I remember. I'll have to go sit in one I guess. Thanks!
Enjoyed this video! Nice to see what you’re up to :)
Thanks Reagan!
Good stuff, keep it going.
Yaay, love that Mooney!!
Feedback: I think one of the things that makes Trent's vids interesting is that there's a personal connection (a lot of it is selfie video) both with him personally and with a few of his flying buddies. The other element I think that runs through them is a real enthusiasm for where they're going, what they're doing and for the planes they're flying. Because he's a drone cinemaphotographer by day, he brings a lot of editing experience to his videos as well. Lots of detail information and detail shots and unusual photographic viewpoints. Who came to this thing? Can we meet them? What did you have for breakfast, did you cook it there with hotplates? Did we get to meet the guy from the airport? How are the personal interactions between the flyers? Did we get to walk around at least one interesting plane of the bunch? Why do they own the planes they do? And so on.
Part of Trent's fun is going somewhere cool in an airplane that you can't get to any other way. Flying to a nearby airport to sit on the ramp is probably less than inspiring unless you *make* it so.
Thanks for the good feedback! I'm hoping each video I produce gets better and better!
Awesome! Do you guys have airport/airfield tax everytime you touchdown somewhere and if so how do you pay the bill?
No our airports are funded by the outrageous taxes we pay in the U.S.
Lovely video. Please tame me with you next time.
Steep turn photos were great
I nice video of a nice little gathering. Thanks! And very few aviation youtubers think of showing the glamorous task of cleaning away the bugs. There's little to no mention of it in "High wing Vs Low wing" discussions, either!
Nice!! gotta get that Cruzer up next
is it a Zenith Cruzer or an ICP Savannah ?
Love your build videos but this is a nice change of pace from them. When you get your Cruzer flying would like to see more of these. Maybe some Stol videos in remote areas.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad people also enjoy these kinds of videos too!
Nice video!! What type of cameras are you using? Any ND filters?
GoPro 7. One camera has a prop filter from nflightcam.com
Very envious of the variety and opportunities that the many airstrips offer in the USA and Canada.....and the acceptance of air parks too. I live in a City of 6m and we only have two private airfields and no hanger space at all. Big opportunity to develop private aircraft ownership.
Love the wingtip point of view! How did you mount the camera?
It's a GoPro 7 with a suction cup mount! Stays attached even when I'm doing 350kts in the Mooney!!
@@KitplaneEnthusiast So you've only tested it up to 350kts?? :D
Enjoyed the video. Nice job! Good antidote for cabin fever 😁
Some of your friends seem to have also mounted cameras, do they use that footage for personal purposes, or do they have a youube channel? Those would be a nice ones to check!
By the way cool video, I enjoy this adventure trip kind of stuff so my suggestion is to do this again soon!! ;)
The Glasiar pilot (Brian) has a new channel about touring Michigan by air. I'm not sure how much footage he got on this trip, but he has a channel called Glasair Guy. Here's a link: ruclips.net/channel/UC1EEUuXgvsfgKFBx6n00DKg
I'm the Aeronca Sedan pilot. I have a channel, but not very much content yet.

Raw eggs were part of the breakfast? 😃
How long did the trip take (in total)?
Hour there...hour back...hour on the ground...
