They carry pathogens similar to rats. Although Rats are far worse than cockroaches in terms of the pathogens they can carry. She grew up trying to keep the place clean but her mom was too obese to help so my wife would cook, clean, do her homework, mow the lawn and go to school. When we got our own place she was in tears because she didnt hear rats scratching in her walls and under her bed. She works out like crazy at the gym and never makes excuses. Shes badass. The amount of these that we get is surprising, at LEAST one every week. The worst part is that more often than not, the customer is upset with ME for bringing the PS4 back to them immediately, double-garbage-bagged.

My manager used to run a repair shop, and he built his own device for taking care of cockroach infestations. It was dubiously named "the suck and blow box". Basically it was like a sandblaster, with holes on the front to slip your hands into that were basically long gloves. Lines ran in through the walls of the enclosure that gave you compressed air, and another that was hooked to a vacuum. You could handle the device entirely in the enclosure, blow all the bugs out, and suck them all up with the vacuum. Was a good idea actually. Unfortunately we don't have the space for such an enclosure now.

One thing I heard you could do was to vacuum seal your ps4 in a bag, then stick it in a freezer for a couple of hours. Roaches can't adapt to the cold very quickly, and they freeze to death. This also kills of the eggs and such.
This could very well be a bad idea because of condensation and the like, but the way it was explained to me that vacuum sealing the device in a bag prevents condensation, tho idk if that's true

Not to mention, in a couple weeks back at their house, it'd be reinfested and broken anyways. They'd come back and be like, "you didn't even fix it!" A lot of these people with infested consoles have gone blind to their roach problem.

This is a big risk when you're buying used consoles directly from the previous owner. I took that risk with a used 360, and it was working fine for years. But lately, it began sounding pretty loud, so I brought it to a console repair shop I trusted, because they fixed the disc drive on my Xbox One X before, and told them to take a look at it, clean it out, and apply new thermal paste. And when I went back after a month or so, they told me it was roach infested, so they just closed it back up, bagged it, and did nothing else to it. I was so emberassed. I didn't see any roaches anywhere in my home, there were none in my One X, and didn't notice any in my PS2 when I've put a hard drive in. But somehow those little buggers stayed inside that 360 for years. Ugh, I hate them...
