- In this meditation, Lynn guides us into a practice that assists in quieting the mind. Have you ever noticed when something has your full attention you don't notice anything but that to which you are giving your full attention? This is a natural way to quiet the mind. We begin by scanning our bodies and giving our full attention to any vibrational sensations, sounds, etc. We drop the habit of trying to figure out what the sensation is or where it is coming from or why it is there. Simply being the one who notices all the comings and goings of sense perceptions... the witnessing Presence... the awareness in which the whole world comes and goes. Thoughts may come during this practice because we cannot control thoughts; however we can prepare an environment where thoughts are simply seen without our involvement or turning thoughts into an identity. This is an opportunity, perhaps for the first time, to have the direct experience and recognition of this natural spaciousness essence we call awareness; where all perception simply happens, where all thoughts come and go. The entire dance of life happens within this spacious awareness; beyond body-mind identity; the natural effortlessness of being.
