  • Two and a half months of trail camera action from the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park in southwest Florida. I had the trail camera on a waterhole in the swamp until the summer rains forced me to move the camera to higher ground.

It's good to know that there is someone out there who is absolutely not afraid to stomp through the swamp and endure all the mosquitoes, so that I have the opportunity to discover this fascinating world from my sofa.. Thank you very much for that.

Great catch on the doe and bear gnawing bones to replenish their calcium after nursing their offspring. Those ghost orchids certainly are beautiful, thanks for adding that to the video.

I had to watch the gator segment again - one of the coolest things you've ever captured. That pair were monsters and undoubtedly very territorial over their pond. You got away lucky.

Lots of critters gnaw on old bones to gain the minerals. Not something that is actually seen in the wild very often, i'm guessing. Great capture ti get the bears doing exactly that. Also, great to see three more very young bears out there. Great vids, Tim.

This was worth the wait! All those animals in CLOSE UPS! The mama bear was eating the antler of the deer, probably for calcium, since she has three cubs.
Both of those spots are worth future efforts. We got to see some animals in their living room, like we've never seen before. Thanks for sharing them with us; I know it it a lot of work, but you show me things I will never get to see.

But then, we don't have huge reptiles in Colorado.

Everybody snacks on the deerbones, even the deer... I'd read about them eating bones and shed antlers for the calcium, so it was neat to see it. And the bears! Those little "Mooooooom, I want some" whines from the cubs were so cute! You could easily see that she was still nursing those three; she probably needed the calcium pretty badly herself. Hey-- please be careful about the gators, okay? I grew up in Florida too and I know they like to lie submerged for long periods; last thing you need is to step on one in knee-deep water, you'd end up featuring in an "And He Was NEVER SEEN AGAIN" memorial video! Nobody wants to get death-rolled.

Your slogan should be 'I wade through mosquito and alligator infested swamps so you don't have to'. At the first rustle of a bullfrog I would have been up one of those trees so fast..... It looks like a slice of paradise until you see the 113 degree temp at noon - bet it's 90% humidity too.

    Hello from France,
    Sorry for translate
First I want to say that I love all of your videos. Your films are wonderful. Every week I check if you post a new one. I was very saddened to see that you wanted to stop. But I understand because it takes you a lot of time and money. Yet I hope you will continue. My aunt lived in Florida in Tampa, and since I was a child, I heard her talk about the Everglades. That I imagined populated by alligators, mosquitoes, pelican and Hibiscus. Thanks to you I discovered a very rich state with bears, puma, deer, coyotes, and Opossum and Orchidaes and many more. I am amazed, you live in a paradise. Your films are truly scientific evidence. They help save the planet's fragile ecosystems and prevent urbanization and the drying up of wetlands. I never imagined Florida to be so wild. With so much animal life. Do not stop your movies, ask for subsidies or help. Florida is unique and you show it. And you are very pleasant, your movies a real pleasure. Thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you.

10:55 - That might be the coolest gator footage I've ever seen. Sincerely. You don't normally see a gator sliding just beneath you (the camera) nor talking to another gator unless it's a baby calling for mom.
Really cool footage, Tim. I could not have walked through that gator water to get the camera. Lol
19:44 - Lovely footage of moma kissing bambi.
21:44 - Moma bear and the three tiny cubs.. wow! And to hear at least one cub whimpering.
I think this might be my favorite to date.
    THANK you, Tim!

Every vlog is a super exciting unusual captures of FLA critters going about their lives. This gator footage needs to be shared with proper accreditation along with the panther footage to a wildlife section at a university. Wanted to see that roar & water shake by the bull but, the circling dance was just an incredible capture. Bears don't seem or rather black bear moms seem to been in high resource areas with triplets & quints every other bear vlog on the toobe. Tim your eye for choosing the everglades hotspots to set up on is better than a lot of researchers and or wildlife professionals. Uneventful H season & Be Well & Safe

Your videos are just plain fun. I really enjoy this look at a wild area that is accessible but still wild and so different than what I'm used to in the Oregon Cascade Mtn. foothills. I gaurantee there's no 'gators in Oregon woods. Plenty of bears and cougars but not one 'gator, and lots of blacktail deer. Thanks a bunch.

The bear-mama chewed up some of the deer bones. She may need calcium after her 3 cubs! Bears are omnivorous ...so that is no surprise. Black bears are known to have attacked humans, even though that is rare. Black bears are tree climbers and have escape routs. That makes them less aggressive by nature. Beautiful video once again, Tim. Thank you! You are a brave man wading around in the world of gators! You know they were watching you! Some big boys, so stay alert!

Never having used a trail cam ruclips.net/user/postUgkx2sTDdZXomuxedMg_HothfjSXjR3rpPkA before, I was very impressed with the quality of the images and videos. The sensitivity of the camera can be adjusted as well as the length of video recordings. Once I found the sweet spot, I was getting great clips of deer and other animals almost every day. I was worried about battery life but have been running off the same 4 aa batteries for over a month. The SD card is easy to remove and connect to a computer. I have a Mac, and the AVI files open natively in QuickTime and are easy to save and share. This is a great, budget-friendly trail cam.
