    I wish that at the end you replayed both before and after for a direct comparison. I find sound editing harder than photo/video editing.

    You explained the parametric equalizing for me in my car audio. Here's what I've learned 5 minutes in. I wasted $160 on cabin speakers

    I found AB's voice a little flat or muffled. it could have done with some boosting in the higher frequencies.

    I just purchased a Rane PEQ 55 for home audio use. Once EQ is set up like in your demonstration do I just leave and forget or will I have to shape it for every different song I listen to? Thank you.

    My Wiim Pro+ stream/dac has parametric EQ. any advise on using this in general? I'd use the EQ just to play music, not to edit audio tracks

    @4:05 you said there is a nasal type sound at 800 Hz. How did you figure that out that the nasal sound is at 800 Hz?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  Год назад

      The EQ graph shows the frequency in Hz. AB is subjectively describing the sound as "nasally" >Mark

    Your previous tutorial I just watched re equipment and getting started was super helpful! This video however uses the kind of vocab that has beginners lost in the first 50 seconds. Please keep in mind that people watching your video are very likely brand new to all of this. 50 seconds in and I have no idea what you’re saying because you’ve said “frequency, gain, boost, Width/Q etc”. Please please simplify and break down the vocab so beginners can understand what you’re saying.

    Great video. Extremely helpful. I'm learning this for Premiere Pro. Question: When testing sound, is it best to use a headset or the speakers from the computer?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  3 года назад

      Use whichever method you find comfortable. AB is using a quality pair of monitors. Headphones will provide a degree of isolation from ambient sound in your workspace. >Mark

    I'm confused why graph in EQ shows some frequencies going past 0db, isn't that clipping?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  3 года назад

      Audible clipping distortion will not happen at the 0dB demarcation. There is typically more headroom available depending upon the vocalist or instrument and the musical material. EQ is also a mater of personal taste and preference. >Mark

      @@BandH i found out eq amplitude levels on y axis are actually gain levels not audio's volume. so it represents gain from -15db to 15db

      well, EQ'ing is like sculpting or making way to the other frequencies not to clash each other. Its kind of making a puzzle pieces then fit them together. Its Balancing

    I’m using Adobe audition. This is really useful when recording to audio cassette. Always needs some boosted highs.

    For a beginner this is difficult to understand next time take a bad audio preferably recorded with camera mic and tweak it so we can see how good this stuff is

    Are you serious that eq-ing was terrible and spiky I would have expected less attack than that, the problem is when you duck down the whole vocal sounds worser
