Idk if it’s that deep… maybe if those lines were used in “one more time” about showing love while people are still here. In this song though. I think that might be a stretch/searching for meaning that isn’t there.
Not really. The song is basically about mental numbness and not physical pain and both Bennington and Cornell suffered from depression which is not a feeling of pain, but a feeling of nothingness, no purpose or joy, that is what the song is about when they sing "I feel more than you'll ever know" cause people cannot relate to that feeling@@johndough3809
The double bass by Travis (can't believe he actually did it and unheard of because he doesn't like or use it) makes this so good. The chorus by Tom is great. Pain and shame pronunciations are bombtastic.
