Do you think cheating in one game means you should be banned in all games? Or just the game you cheated in?

In all games? No, but you should be recognized and treated as what you are: a filthy cheater.
❤ U Karly
Once a cheater always a cheater. Don't take her back bro.
I think it should be an instant Permaban for that particular game’s community, and then I would like to see communities use some kind of a marking system that identifies those that have cheated in other games before, sort of like how if you get a speeding ticket it goes on your driving record. That way communities can be armed with the information they need to make their own decisions
Dash said it best. If you're caught cheating in a game, all of your other runs should be put into review. The fact that tiki deleted his whole channel shortly after being called out is suspicious. Now that his runs cannot be reviewed, its safer to assume that they were faked as well. An honest person doesn't hide evidence
the fact that he had the foresight to download the run is 10/10
Literally so smart!!
"I walked 10,000 steps today."
*"1, 2 , 3, 4... NO YOU DIDN'T!!"*
"It was only 9,999 and a half"
"You didn't meet the cat lady at 9:24:50, that means you're lying!"
I walked 6 miles a day not a lie though it’s a part of my everyday workout well 6 days a week
@yordlopbased
The validity of your GameFAQ was directly correlated to how awesome the ASCII art was at the beginning of it.
you definitely knew it was a great guide if the art was awesome
Yup, seeing that ASCII art made me know I was about to read a trustworthy guide
@dougEdoug169 are you perhaps related to the published author Douglas Douglas?
💯 it was literally like the cover of a book
The GOATs had elite formatting and table of contents.
Hitting the nuke button within a day of someone being suspicious of you is actually insane
Actual rage quit 😂😂. They think I’m cheating? GET ME OUT OF HERE NOW 🚀 🚀 💨 💨 🏃
When that someone is Dash, it's like that mob boss finding out his son shot John Wick's dog.
Pfff lol meme exploding at 2:07. Loool whatever, he will a beard next?
He was a *little* suspicious
“Call me suspicious of THIS”
Guy knew he was going to get caught and panicked
I have a feeling TikiLiger has some kind of anxiety disorder. Because someone going completely scorched earth like that screams panic. And panicking after some mild suspicion is a bit hair trigger.
Whoever and wherever this guy is, I hope he's okay.
This is as wild as the people who caught the Mario64 cheaters by counting eye blinks 👁️
These cheaters never realize. Speed runners are inherently autistic. It’s in their blood 😂😂
I admire the dedication of those gamers who dedicated their time into finding them bcs it shows a true care for the art.
Honestly this one is crazier because of how massive the game is
Uh,wait,what?That was a thing?
@chee.rah.monurB yeah lmao
"Let's check this run real quick."
Meanwhile the run in question: 6+ hours long.
To be fair it did appear he was watching at double or 1.5 speed. So thats only about 3 hours then.
@LostMediaArchiversGenXit looks like he skips around a bunch too
Well it's a speedrun, so compared to the regular game, it is quicker
@ManicShorty he was making the joke that even though it's a speedrun it's still that many hours
And 9 hours of streaming only got him 2/3 of the way through
LET ME EXPLAIN about me failing to count the steps behind the log: I'm a drummer, we always count too fast.
As you counted I legitimately went - yep that's 20, recount - yep that's right.
Are you rushing or are you dragging?
Sounds about right lol
That means you have no pocket bro
It feels like that mistake was prophetic. To mistakingly think the speedrunner had incorrect steps early on only for that to actually be what catches them later on.
10:03 "Let's check out this run real quick" *Proceeds to carefully review 7 hours of footage*
I was thinking the same the same thing. Not many people would consider watching a 6.5 hour video 'quick'. I'll just quickly run this marathon.
0:16 Nah, mate, I'm pretty sure everyone pronounces it "game facks"
Can confirm. GameFAQs is GameFacks, and that's a fackt.
I used to call it game fack yous.
Some savages call it game eff ay cues
Yes, and I still use it that website to this day
Yeah, the site developed by Fred Fuchs.
What I love about that mod is that he apparently doesn't only verify runs on stream, he also tries to provide the runner (and his audience) with as much feedback as he can.
The community (which I'm not a part of) is lucky to have him.
Oh that’s awesome. Many communities not only need him, but they would also cherish him I’m sure. Verifying speedruns as a stream theme concept is genius.
@TitaniumTurbine Yeah, it was great. He was pointing out little errors where the runner might have lost a few seconds here and there and explaining to the audience how to optimize. He had been streaming an attempt of his own that was ruined by a bad fight, so then he jumped onto live-verifying a submitted run.
he is also a speedrunner of this game himself. a great moderator for this game
You are a part of it. ❤
I watched Dash’s video the other day. I was kind of hoping you’d make this video and get a bigger audience on it. It’s mad cool that there are people like Dash out there who volunteer their time to help maintain the integrity of these communities.
Yeah, the amount of time people dedicate to validating runs for other people is unreal.
They are the unsung heroes of speedrunning.
Going full nuclear and erasing his online presence under his current alias could be a precursor to coming back under a different name. It's hard to believe someone who spent this many years and 125 submissions into speed running to just vanish without even a ukulele.
"without even a ukulele" is the best thing I've read today
If they reupload previous runs it may be possible to deannoyimize them with the run times.
naw nuke em. hes gonna make new personas anyways.
He’s about to become 29bob
Or... Someone goes full nuclear and just play on their own. There are people who are very invested in a hobby who just leave when things blow up. You get Magic players who can have put like $10k into the game quit from day to day.
Text files are also far less annoying than 99% of videos that gamers put out.
_dubstep_ WELCOME TO THE MOST EPIC GAMER CHANNEL _bass drops for a solid minute_
Right? I hate when all I can find is a RUclips video for something that could have been a screenshot and a sentence.
@FlorianWendelborn WE TOOK THIS SPEEDRUN *vroom.wav* and analyzed it. You wont BELIEVE the findings *nope.wav*, *bruh.wav*. Were going to see if it's real or FAKE. *jail_cell_closing.wav* But first our sponsor from honey.
@CPLWeeks instead its them speed warp running in the most insanely bad camera angle with you getting lucky if they open the map at all to show where they ended up at the end of the running. makes me mad every time >_< you are making a guide GOING SLIGHTLY SLOWER in a clear fashion is not a detriment
Let's be clear, deleting all your videos when you get exposed for cheating is the same as admitting you're guilty.
It certainly would bias anyone to assume you were guilty, if there was nothing sus about those runs then having them stay up would serve as evidence that those runs were valid, by deleting them he removed the possibility to recheck those runs which means mods would have to assume he did cheat.
mod seems like a very chill dude , mad respect
I highly recommend his ~25 min breakdown of this situation, well explained, interesting on a technical level, and dip a bit in the personnal mindset of being a mod /Empathy needed
Chill and super knowledgeable. Strong combo
I agree, I really liked his video too! Suuuper knowledgeable guy, and seems like someone I would want to hang out with for sure lol. Just got great vibes!
So a streamer said he was simply a bit suspicious about the run, and this guy responds by removing the submission and RUclips video before the investigation is even complete. Definitely not suspicious at all.
Deleted his whole channel, LoL...
Tiki: Oh no they said it's suspicious, BURN IT ALL!!!
@munchmandrifta I mean I guess he figured it would be better to just nuke his online existence and start over then deal with other people going over all his other submissions and getting slowly picked apart.
@munchmandrifta If you got nothing to hide then there shouldnt be any issue allowing to check on it.
@munchmandrifta I have a feeling they didn't just cheat in FF7, they probably also cheated on other speedruns. which is probably why they deleted the whole channel, so they wouldn't get caught for the other cheated runs.
Kinda like the guy who nukes his whole rig when the cops knock at the door. Totally not suspicious.
If you get caught cheating in 1 game every run you have submitted should be re verified.
Agreed. I have no qualms in giving others a chance for redemption, but you have to assume that if they've done it once, they've done it before and will do it again and as such need to be held to a much higher standard of verification.
That's what they do.
This is already the standard. He was just saying that cheating in 1 game doesn’t disqualify every run you’ve ever done. There will be more scrutiny but it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve never done a legit run. The deleting of all videos makes it impossible to verify so it in fact makes every run illegitimate.
I think they’re not worth the attention and effort. Just take it all down- all they want is attention and recognition, why should we give that to them? Not like they care about the community anyway… otherwise they wouldn’t have cheated 😂
@ConjureNoonSlothagreed. Should be installed in people if you cheat once and get caught thats the end of your speedrun career
I completely forgot about gameFAQs. That was a lifesaver back in the day
lol the part where he pulls up YT and his frontpage is 2 asmongold vids is so funny, i'd be so embarrassed if that happened to me
I dunno, I didn't see a pizza and coke
everyone knows that's only for mario
lol this FFVII cheater is almost as bad as brokie TBYS sean
yeah, no Windows Media Player bar too
@Young4341-b1sbadabun's channel did a fake super mario bros speed run where the guy was drinking coke and eating a slice of pizza in between levels. Karl covered it
@moisesblandon9136 And also pointed out that speedrunning leaves little time to actually eat, let alone drink in between levels, and that doing so is like mocking the entire community by making it seem like a cakewalk.
On an unrelated note, if I should ever start speedrunning with a facecam, I will 100% always eat pizza and drink coke because it's hilarious.
Deleting the speedrun after just the slightest bit of suspicion is raised says a lot about the legitimacy of the run
Am I really watching this cheating scandal for the THIRD time? First from the mod, then Abyssoft, now Karl
LoL, I'm in same boat... Saw Dash's Video as it popped on my Timeline, then Abyssoft popped up so watched to support/boost... Now on Karl's...
same lol
LOL I thought it was the only one...Algorithm is pushing it hard
I saw Abyssoft video today on that one so I'll skip this video.
Lol first time?
To answer your question, so if you cheat at Donkey Kong yeah your Pac Man records should be ripped up as well.
I disagree. But I will say that if you cheat at one game all your records i every game should be scrutinized not necessarily thrown out
Clever Mitchell reference 8P
@drakependragon8439 But why should we continue to platform them? If someone shows you their true character, believe them.
If they wanted to be recognized for their *real* achievements, maybe they should have thought about that… I would rather not entertain efforts of cheaters 😂
@ConjureNoonSloth Speedrunning sites, are, in fact, not social media sites, and objectively correct and legitimate records of speedruns should be kept regardless of the person's reputation, as long as it's not literally hitler.
@drakependragon8439 If an Olympian is a three medal winner, but cheated in one of the three events, all three medals are revoked.
We have a real-life example of such things. Thus, yes, if you cheat that's sorta the end of you.
He may have had the world record for most cheated speedruns
I actually used some of your goldeneye faqs back in the day, they really helped me out.
I didn't even think about that, I wonder if I was using them ever without realizing it!! :o
When dude said "It should be 18 /12 steps", I knew this was out of my league to spot the cheating. Man knows his stuff.
Your likes are growing fast, I'd edit it though, I don't think you meant 18 and/or 12
@JakeCybertreks meh, I think everybody knows what I meant. Good catch though.
Out of your league? What? You cant count or something? This sort of stuff is pretty simple once you know it exists. Its not like its hard to understand.
@john_bluesyour likes are growing fast, I'd edit it though, I don't think you meant thought.
@Paultimate7I think they're referring to knowing precisely how many steps trigger certain encounters in certain areas, and not the actual act of counting itself.
I would argue that simply just deleting your entire runs on multiple games is grounds for removal of the leaderboard due to the very obvious reason of "Where's the run?"
Yeah like, am i understanding this wrong? I know for early runs 2 decades ago word of mouth could get your time posted, but these days if there's no video, why is the run still up?
@mikeymoughtin Videos can get lost for different reasons, like when Twitch deleted a lot of old VODs, it’s not fair to remove the verified runs just because the submission is gone.
@gandalfgrey91 circumstantial evidence in this case though. I get your point but in this scenario there is no denying what happened here
@CooperHayes-o2s In this case its now up to the mods if they want to reverify. If they want to reverify, they can’t, so it automatically becomes invalid.
@gandalfgrey91 okay i guess if it's a verified run taken down by an outside force, sure. but someone willingly taking down their own video should at least put an asterisk on the run
14:54 I like how the recommended video is Karl's 4 hour Completionist video.
And right after he says “call me suspicious of this” 😂 10/10
I mean, he's a speedrunner so it seems logical that he follows Karl Jobst
And the classic redlettermedia review of Star Wars. From 9 years ago, when creators were not self censoring. Worth a watch.
ratrotgold though 😬😬
The original video is a must watch. The dude go so in depth that is actually really interesting to watch. Even if you don't know anything about FF7 speedrun like me.
Love to see Dash getting the positive glazing he deserves with all of this spotlight on him as the guy who caught this. Dash is always doing his verifications on stream, giving tips and advice on improving.
I watched the original Dash Retro stream, Dash Retro video, Abbysoft's video, and now I'm watching Karl's video lmao
if you don't call it game"faks" you weren't there
That's a fakt
If you call it game"faks", you're wrong. No one pronounces CIA see-a or SEC sek.
This is true lol even at 8 years old reading super long walkthrough we knew it's game faks
@daystar1995I found the guy who wasn’t there.
@daystar1995 Buddy, sometimes in life, there are little nuances or fun community things like this. Back then, we all called it “GameFAQs” (game-faks).
There is no “wrong” in this.
Lol I literally just finished the Abyssoft video and hit refresh
bro is very late on this subject 2 different recommendations before this one
Heh, I got the original Dash Retro vid rec'd when it came out, then saw the Abbysoft one as well.
me 2 !!!
This is Abyssoft GT
Mad respects for dashretro. Damn the dude goes next level explaining runs
Am I the only one who called it Game F-A-Qs back in the day? I remember downloading walkthroughs since the 90s.
I would interchange between that and “GameFaks”
10:03 lets check out this 7 hour run real quick...
"This kid is quick..."
I love that this is framed around praising Dash, not hating on Liger. Even stories like this can be presented in a positive way.
Great video!
Very true. Was even kinda wholesome in a weird way.
The hate would be well-deserved though.
@Opcjonalle true.
Karl out here still doing his Jobst!
Even after taken a whooping from Billy Mitchell
@C@Colevid19 rent free
@Colevid19bros still paying Billy with this video lol
@Dougbert nop.
@Dougberthe’s got to pay him somehow.
Cloud looks like SSJ Gohan at the cell games.
Love how your 4 hour video is the top recommended watch for him.
0:41 I remember printing out entire text walkthroughs
Me too!
My boss comes into the main office, slams down several POUNDS of copy paper yelling "What the F@ck is Final Fantasy XII?? This is 4-5 Hundred pages!!?!"
Oops. Only meant to print 1 screen of game faks 😮
Hahaha he was pissed!!
Librarians hate this one simple FFVI 100% Complete Walkthough
I still do that now, I have one set aside for Obscure the Aftermath cause it's easier for me to read along to those while i'm playing on PC rather then having to use a video walk through on a second screen and then going back to PC.
@jadedheartszYeah going back and forth is honestly tiresome I feel that
Todd Todgers could dodge these encounters
Todd could start in 2nd gear in CVT and EVs
Well, of course. He'd be moving at mid speed between walking and running. That way you don't get any random encounters.
Dodd Dodgers could todge these encounters
@pierre-philipmartin2009 This literally made me burst out laughing
@chriswelcome8102 This literally made me burst out laughing
18:45
"What if I am running the game--"
*EQUIPS CAT*
😹
@MatéDrinker swapping to your secondary is faster than reloading.
You must gather your party before venturing forth.
The cat is the real expert here, he's just his hands.
@moviemaker2011z Remember the basics of CQC (Close Quarters Cat)
I wonder if he’s deleted all of his runs so he could reupload them under a different name later
If people keep a record of the run-times reuploding more than like 5 of them under a different name should raise suspicions.
@economicprisonernot really there are tons of people with identical times
Dash's video is worth watching just to see how much game knowledge that man has, it's quite impressive to witness.
I love it when cheaters get caught.
I am a firm believer of using reason. If you delete all your speedruns, there is only one potential reason besides a freak coincidence: Some of them were cheated, and he decided that since this one would bring major scrutiny to the rest, he would not be able to get away with the classic "I only cheated on that run, trust" strategy.
It makes sense then to delete his speedrun digital footprint. He can just come back to it in a few years under a different name, because we all know people like that never truly learn.
Right. And as for Karl's question, "Do you think cheating at one game should get you banned from the leaderboards on all other games?" My answer is yes.
If you create just one cheated speedrun, that says something about your attitude towards speedrunning and the speedrun community in general. IMO the greatest thing about speedrunning is the community behind it; it's collaborative just as much as it is competitive. If you cheat, you cannot have any respect for this community.
@cmshap Especially as there are methods of cheating in some games that are undetectable or have enough plausible deniability that they very much rely on an honour system, and you break that trust at your own peril
@cmshapthe "just for that game" boundary seems pretty arbitrary. If you are DQing runs that were probably legit within one game, on the basis that some others in that game were cheated, what is the justification for not doing the same in other games?
I used to be a believer in reason until I studied law... you don't need to touch the issue where YOU have the onus of proof to prove they were a cheater - you can sidestep it by making a decision that gets the same outcome by a far easier, uncontroversial method: every record that requires an uploaded run as proof can be removed simply because the proof is now absent. Leave the hard issue to some other judge in some other court 😁
I will give them the benefit of the doubt, that they where afraid of a pile on hate storm so they panic deleted everything.
But yeah I case this is the end of the story it's very likely
17:28 wow, he is REALLY good at making circles with his mouse. it doesn't even look like he's focusing on it. he's a machine
😂
I read your comment just as he was circling
@eurologicI think there's a new feature where timestamped comments have a high chance of appearing when you're about to watch them.
I did laugh more than I should
@johnybalohny you’re right it’s been like that for a while
I love people like DashRetro because people who dedicate themselves to have such a high understanding of something like this are incredible. And the fact that Dash can take it and make it understandable for people outside of the scene is what brings people in to communities. Every scene needs players like Dash and I always appreciate these people.
Happy to watch someone else explain this one. I caught the site mod make his video on this cheater but man that was a hard watch. I need more presentation than a stream rip. Props to everyone regardless
Speedrunners are like Gamblers.
They know when to walk and when to run.
Know when to hold’em, and know when to fold up their entire RUclips Channel.
24:29 He's such a stand-up guy he doesn't even need a roll of duct tape!
now he just needs to say that his account was hacked and that's why his videos were deleted
A cheater is a cheater. You can't say it's only a half.
Ah yes GameFAQs good times 🙂
I always thought the only people more insane than people who speedrun 5+ hour games, are the people who verify each run and watch it in its entirety. Speedrun moderators provide a service that rarely sees appreciation and takes up so much time.
What about the people that cheat at a 5hr+ speedrun to gain a few seconds? 😂
And not just watching it, but jumping back to count steps several times
@OvenFridge i mean they only have to cheat a run one time. For a game like FF7 has to have so many submissions, even known runners and record holders have to be screened. The person cheating at a 5hr+ speedrun is banking on a moderator not catching a small moment, and they go undiscovered all the time. DashRetro just happens to have an encyclopedic knowledge of a game that has had many years to be more or less "Solved".
@spoobini Which is exactly why he nuked everything. The one nerd that knows his stuff found him 😂
Because these speedruns rely so heavily on the honor system, a person who demonstrates that they have no honor shouldn't be allowed to participate.
I agree.
It’s not like they’re being banned from playing the game.. they’re just being banned from being *recognized* for playing the game. All they want is attention anyway, why entertain their bullshit?
surprised he deleted the run considering he'd already been caught live on stream.
Props to Dash Retro!
another awesome video Karl, good work mate
This video made me lose No Nut November
You going back to your roots. I'm glad you're back mate.
Legends assemble.
I think Dash is more on a PhD level than a bachelor, holy hell.
Considering the Bachelor Defense I had to endure today, I tend to agree 😂
One of the few times that these speedrun moderators catch something so early because they actively check the run
I guess maybe people might think a run is easier to cheat on if it's 6h long, since there will be fewer people actually checking it.
2:04 interesting conversation going on in the chat there...
booooy we are so back, finally a cheatrun video again! i am happy for you for taking some mental health time
"Let's check out this run real quick" enters a 6 hours speedrun 😂😂
9:05 excellent wording …”before this recent unpleasantness…”. 🤣 it’s perfect!
This comment was previewed to me as he was saying it
My brother and me had a physical FF7 walkthrough and stategy guide in magazine format, that we bought at our local game shop. It contained all the secrets, materia, all the bosses/enemies and their strengths and weaknesses, chocobo breeding tips, etc.
We spent so much time with this game and that walkthrough magazine... Oh the memories... Good times!
Those were the days! My favorite was Super Mario RPG. The guide magazine wasn't strictly necessary, but finding all of the hidden chests was definitely easier with it!
Yep, I’m pretty sure I have the official walkthrough somewhere, it had concept art and stuff, it was beautiful! I loved those physical walkthroughs.
@elizabethwoodley4340 I still have my official Final Fantasy VII guide book and it still contains the handwritten annotations I made back in the 90s.
It's like a kid watching corn for the first time and caught by parents
Speed runners are a different breed of gamers
All the cheater needed to do was claim cosmic bit flip!!
"It's fitting that this instance of cheating was caught in a winter setting because, for Tiki Liger, this has been a very chilly day indeed."
I saw abysofts video about this from earlier and when the guy goes there should be a battle here and there was a battle right exactly where he said it would happen my mind was more blown than watching an actual speed run
Dash looks like a real good dude. I hope that's the case
i love that people know the game so much that they can manip the enemy encounter rng
RIP Kao Megura, always remembered, best FAQ Writer for original FF7, May he enjoy the remake in heaven.
I don't think I would have ever managed to breed a Gold Chocobo in FF7 without GameFAQs.
God I miss using the ALEX walkthroughs for Silent Hill and Resident Evil.
Kinda magical looking back. The mystery of it all.
When I was in like 6th grade or so, I got detention after being caught by a librarian trying to print off entire walkthroughs for every game I owned. She caught me with like a textbook size stack of paper and lectured me about wasting paper... but then let me keep them because otherwise she was going to just "waste them" in to the recycling... I spent detention reading them 😂😂😂
All it takes is chocobo sage and a notepad.
I still remember that guide telling you how to manipulate the RNG so you spend the least amount of time to get the gold chobobo haha. Good times.
I wouldn't have even known if it werent for the strategy guide.
Nah, I'm okay with a full lifetime ban across all platforms for cheaters. Why? Well, tough shit. Plenty of people got there without cheating, you don't get to come back into good graces any more. Pro sports do this all the time; no reason not to do that here.
The stakes are much lower than a pro sport. Lifetime bans shouldn’t be that big of a deal.
Exactly. It’s easy just don’t cheat. If the consequences are high this will discourage cheating.
Fully agreed. Once caught cheating, the person ought to be perma-banned.
That's a fair point. Though I think even if he doesn't get banned from the other games, his runs should still be removed, since the videos were taken down.
please go ahead and provide a demonstrable solution that adheres to these two criteria being met
1 - communities which host their own leaderboards instead of using SRC, like goldeneye, mega man, doom, etc.
2 - cheaters who have been caught but just change their screen name and continue going submitting times to a different game
i can tell you it simply doesn't exist because you can't force communities that don't use SRC, to care about what SRC thinks should be the case
in the mega man community for instance, there are banned runners and they don't show up on the SRC leaderboards but they do show up on the MM community's own leaderboards because they simply don't care what SRC moderation thinks lol
as for the second one, there is nothing stopping anyone who has cheated, from simply just wiping everything and returning under a new alias after laying low for a while
this happened in LTTP for instance, someone got caught cheating, left and came back under a completely different pseudonym, integrated themselves with the community and became on good terms with the moderation team and they just didn't care to continue upholding the ban since there was no reason to believe any of their new runs were cheated
the fact is, speedrunning is not some standardized activity like an actual sporting event, it is entirely grassroots and nothing can or will change individual game communities from doing whatever they want, and no amount of people in the peanut gallery being like "yer all dem dere cheaters needa be run outta town!" will ever change anything lol
I remember printing out those walkthroughs because the computer wasn't in the same room as the games console. That's some proper nostalgia
19:00 Sweet little kitty wants some hugs! 😍😍
3:33 Didn't start with "Now legends" at the ad read, unsubscribed.
Remember? I still use Game FAQs
Same! Though I never imagined I'd live to see the day NES wasn't in the "More systems" navigation drop down.
Great site for guides, horrible forums though, moderated by power tripping incels. In fact the moderators pretty much killed a lot of traffic to the site with how horrendous they are.
same
@crystalwater505 yeah there are some creeps on there so i've not commented on the forums much as a result despite having been a member for around 15 years now.
@crystalwater505 Incels or wokies? I've not really bothered with the forums
Spending so many hours every day moderating runs is an insane dedication.
Why would anyone want to allow a cheater to still participate in any speedrunning community?
I like this Dash fellow, he seems like an honourable and nice guy, and holy shit does he put in some hours!! All for the benefit of the speed running community for a 28 year old game! Legend tbh!
Thise FAQ guides are major nostalgia for me
Sometimes dead in the middle of these video's I tell myself "wtf am I watching". 🤣
Dash seems like an awesome dude. There's just something about listening to people who are passionate about a topic and he explains everything so well. Thank you for the video! :)
10:03 - "let's check this run real quick."
Looks at splits, 7+ hours 💀
21:22 The video description stating "I'm really proud of this one" is cinema
How tf did I forget about gamefaqs until just now?? Maybe im older than I thought
5:40 I accept your apology, but will be comparing your content with Abyssofts involuntary.
I already watched Abysoft's video about this last night but I'm gunna watch this one too just to see Karl's take on it.
Same
I feel we need to pause for a moment to applaud Dash's absolutely perfect mustache!
As soon as I saw the log, I went "there's a likely splice point"
Erasing himself from the Internet is fine with me.
Coming back to the Internet sneakily and under a completely different alias is not fine with me. Too many cheaters have done this already.
@Connie_TinuityErroryeah, well I can do that regardless of what they choose to do with their main account.
programmer here, actually the biggest things stopping you from having a successful career in programming are 1. no one wants to hire you because you don't have 100 years of experience, and 2. corporations thinking an AI can replace you, and it can't, so they hire someone cheaper instead after they fire you.
Programming is also a skill that is useful in a lot of other jobs. You don’t have to be a professional software developer. At work I can see a clear divide between people who process their data with python and people who are stuck with their excel formulas.
@terriplays1726 I know that many other professions use programming, met a few physics student who were learning to code, but he specifically said a "successful career in programming" so I assumed he was talking more about if you want to mainly be a programmer.
also both of the examples you gave are about data, as a programmer I dealt with data, data structure, UI, server, web development, and package creation, so there is a huge difference in the needed knowledge between those who use programming in their field and those who programming *is* their field.
I just played FF7 for the first time earlier this year. What a one-of-a-kind game
I think that while he may not have cheated in every upload, the trust is gone and must be earned again. Thought that be very difficult..
