Chris was my maths teacher in my second year of high school. Poor man. We were horrible to him. But he taught me "Stay on the sunny side"which I sing to myself whenever I feel miserable. I also met him on a Moratorium march and realised that he was not just a teacher... Reedy River i one of my favourite Australian folk songs and i love the whole musical.

Sadly we lost Chris in 2004. His music is absolutely brilliant.'Reedy River', 'Do you think that I do not know', 'Rain in the Mountains' are just some of my favorite Lawson poems put to music so brilliantly by this musician.

I first heard this in the 1950's when a copy of the first record of the show came to New Zealand and we thrashed it over and over at student parties. The songs still play in my head at instant recall.

I'm ever grateful to Chris for introducing me to Eric Bogle in the 70s. Often drive past his old home in Epping with happy memories

I knew every word to Reedy River, Condamine & a word perfect before 3yo...mid70s; very proud my dad Barry Collerson featured in Bew Rheatres REAL version in early 70s...joking but as dads RR started its run before my conception I think, def b4 my birth I've had no chance to know anything earlier...BEAUTIFUL RENDITON....any way u could teach me how to plY this & Condamine so I can perform them informally with Dad @ Goulburn (Dad has sadly quite advanced dementia the will be his last hurrah....&3 chord wonder has o take n guitar...no worries, u can play ANY song G D C if ur voice can sing it. Swing at Tamworth Bush Music Fest (not the country1...I REMEMENER MY BLUE BMC Tshiet from it), parents madly searching for their under3 yo, then they heard a very young. voice, on microphone, singing Rreedy River word perfect ($ apparently ok pitch....then)I & make knew only 1 two yo would choose that, AND I WON A LOLLIPOP CROWN
I'm having g impossible time getting any REEDY RIVER BSHMEN on iPhone or iPad...iTunes counts cassettes as pirated, but Dad never released CDs....ANY USEAS PLS PLS....not to mention the joke selling RRB CDs on eBay $99-PIRATED. Again Aloved the track
