- Just a video showing how I replaced my rivets that were backing out and/or corroded in my locker lid. Very easy job for anyone to attempt on their own. I hope this is helpful to you. Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe.
Thanks for this video man, I am also glad you showed the good and bad because we all know it happens and you showed your fix to it. Thanks this actually helped me a ton.
Great video,, Aaron. Sure made my day a lot easier. Like you, the aluminum rivets on my 1999 Ranger boat have corroded. Thanks for teaching me how to make this repair! Got it done in no time.
Another way to solve this problem is to use a washer on the back side of the oversized holes instead of drilling new holes… but you got it did and we’re able to get back on the water so it’s all good 🤙.... I work on military aircraft and run across this problem almost every day so the washer trick comes in handy and keeps you from having to drill extra holes in the part. Great video 👍🏼
Good video. Easy to understand. Appreciate you doing it!
Great video. This just happened to me on my 2014 Ranger z118. Ran across your video and will use it to guide me for replacement. Thanks! Roll Tide!
Hey man, great video. I have this problem with a couple of compartment doors on a 2003 Ranger 185VS. Thanks for the video. Roll Tide Roll, McCalle, AL
Well done man. I’ve got an ‘06 Z20 and the cooler lid has come off. Now I have a good idea about how to fix it. I’ll check out your other videos too.
Thanks man, I hope the repaid goes well and easy. Whenever I can get back on the water I'll make some more videos
Good video. I have the exact same issue.
aye brother good to see your back making video's again.
One piece of advice. You need to add another shock to the other side. There is to much resistance on the side that tore out. Boat manufacturers corrected that issue on newer models.
Man i was all in to the video , then i seen that shirt , lol come on man
Lol
would't it have been easier to just pop the clip off the strut and take the strut off the mount?
stratosjeff I didn't know you could do that. Good suggestion though. when I did my rod locker, once the 3 screws came out the shock came loose.
yeah, at the top or bottom of that piston, there are clips, you pop them off and then the piston comes off a ball mount, cool video though, glad you got it working again!
Why not just use a larger rivet to fill the larger worn out hole.....
Carolina Garcia I tried that before and it didn't work.
Could you not have popped the clip on the has strut to take it off, instead of removing the bracket? A lot less effort and body contorting to get those screws out haha
@@rickc9036 yes but I didn't realize that at the time
@@HookEmUp2012 we all learn the hard way bud. Don't ask me how I know haha good video. Trying to determine if I want to take rivets out of some trim on my transom
What about the rubber our champion needs some work and we are addressing that first
Big_ Brams220 what rubber?
dang quick response but the black rubber trim that are in the compartments
like at 4:22 the rubber trim that's in the compartments
Big_ Brams220 I'm om here watching some videos myself...looking for inspiration for the next one lol. oh the compartment seal...that might be glued into place. I'm really not sure. Try the Champion Boats Board on bassboatcentral.com I'm sure someone has done the exact same thing you're trying to do and posted how to do it.
hey thanks
