I have always admired your musical style, creativity and passion. While I thought the maximum fame days were cool, I actually prefer you now. Absolutely laid back dude with a ton of music talent and passion. You seem to have found your groove in life and I like it.
@@MistabishiTVHahaha, I feel the same way about fame. That's when the pressure and demands and fake people all arrive and start expecting things. It's exhausting, and takes the joy out of music. You're deeper than that. I'm glad you found your own way.
I really appreciate that you stick with the one machine for a long time, mastering your technique and wringing out every thing possible. Makes it easier for poor kids like me to invest in an Electribe knowing I can make slammers (hopefully) like you
I own all sorts of gear, worth thousands of dollars (including Elektron gear) but the Electribe 2 Sampler is my favorite bit of gear! I think Korg messed up the promotion on these, they are really underrated bits of gear! My best tip after 4 years of using mine? Keep resampling samples with FX, this frees up the FX for more effects + increases polyphony.
Yes mate! 👏 We've waited so long to have some idea into how you're using the Electribe. That's one wicked demo as well. Definitely looking forward to Part 2!
@MistabishiTV I've got the Synth model. Trying to think of anything that might be overlooked. I think at the end of the day, practice and skill/talent are what separates the lot of us from what you achieve with these units.
Your dedication to this great, but misunderstood and overlooked, machine is inspiring. Always hoped you'd give us more of a look into your process one day!
Your mastery of both the EMX1 and 2 is so inspiring. I have both too but am much more used to the EMX-1. Haven't gotten to the stage where I'm comfortable enough with the emx2. Thank you for the motivation :)
yesh mate ! like this new format/series. very insightful. would be great to hear your thoughts /workflow on the EMX. it comes with different limitations but i dont know anyone out there who pushes a device beyond these limitations quite like you do. im still picking apart and analysing the patterns in WRITE:READ. that whole project is like a codex haha
All it really needs is more memory imo, the little MPC500 had (up to) 128GB of RAM when it was released 20 years ago! Why Korg only put in 24mb of RAM, I'll never know!
Because it's not a media player. It's a groovebox, so it's about making music with one-shots, synths, and loops..With 128gb of ram you may as well just upload your entire record collection to it and use it as a fancy ipod.
@@MistabishiTV Hmm, not sure if I really agree, I often find myself changing stereo samples to mono (cause there's no room). Having said that, everything's a compromise. I had the MPC500 for a while, but didn't like it (despite it having 128MB of RAM). The Electribe OS is a lot more fun, plus you get knobs, 16 pads and great FX. The export to Ableton feature is really handy too!
@lundsweden ah sorry was it 128mb not gb on the mpc? Yeh. I suppose it could've been higher memory, but once you've scrubbed the machine of all its preset samples you get a decent amount of space to play in I think
@milkmannheim not used it personally but watched a review. Sounds nice. Expensive tho, you could buy two electribe 2's for that... maybe even 3 if you dig around in the second hand market long enough.
@@MistabishiTV yeah price is a big difference....but if money would not be important...you think it would do better the job as the electribe 2 ? thanks
@milkmannheim better/worse depends on you! D2 is quite similar to E2 but I don't know it inside n out so can't really say if it has more functionality for what i do with these things. People make good, finished sounding, full sets with them solo so they must be worth a go... ruclips.net/video/oX4tWcGAo78/видео.htmlsi=Daz3nPL2SIy_ZSJe
My new goal is to use my Electribe ES2 Sampler to also be the sequencer for my SH-4d since the 4d has no song-mode. Hopefully the Electribe can be the song-mode for the SH-4d so that I'm not floundering around like THIS all the time m.ruclips.net/video/EzN0_RMxlk8/видео.html And if the Electribe can't effectively serve as song-mode for sequencing my SH-4d, can anyone recommend an external sequencer that CAN be song-mode for the 4d?!? Shame on Roland for not including this basic function.
Great! Do u mind the machine always quantizes, it realy cant capture your natural swing when recording parts? I see ur using swing (it got grooves also) but thats always machine swing not human. Thanx
you can make drums sound off-grid at higher bpm's. if i'd doubled the bpm of this track but made it sound the same, (effectively turning each 4 pattern into a 2 bar pattern) i could program beats so they hit in places that sound like a human timing error.
@@bukaglasna It's something I really hated about the Electribe at first, but those groove templates can be applied and adjusted per part, it's a very powerful feature, if a bit back-the-front compared to other machines.

Thank you! Btw every time I get anywhere near the popularity-contest/fame side of music I burn it all down and start again haha.

Haha that ending. "Yeah alright" sounds like such an off to the pub moment
OMFG I LOVE THIS TUNE. Sounds like something I could hear off Fat of the Land Prodigy!
This is so inspiring!!! I love the castle living, EMX 2 wrangling EDM genius!
the legend is back with the most underrated groovebox yes!!
The smooth automation is everything

Man your work on electribe2 is mind blowing! awesome stuff! Would you consider making a pattern pack for e2 users?it would be really awesome!
When new electribes series?

Do you ever still use the Emx? Your music on that was insane
⭐ was just thinking that
keep meaning to do something proper feature-length on that machine again... but i still use it yeh. it's starting to become an expensive antique now!
