Started my portfolio last year with SCHD, VOO, and VUG after watching one of your videos. In terms of share price, VOO is way up (22.25%) and VUG is waaaaay up (39.62%). Thanks for the education!
Isn't VOO and VUG similar in the sense both are investing in the S&P 500? What is the difference? I thought it is generally advised against to invest in multiple ETFs or Mutual Funds?
There is 55% overlap with the holdings in VOO and VUG. 1 is tech heavy and the other is financials heavy similar, but not the same. VOO tracks the S&P 500; VUG is just focused on large cap growth stocks. VUG is a bit more volatile, but with a higher upside potential. VOO is a bit safer. I’ve never heard anyone advise against multiple ETFs/mutual funds. You just have to be aware of overlap. You don't have to act on every forecast, so I'll suggest that you work with a financial advisor who can help you choose the best times to purchase and sell the shares or ETFs you want to acquire.
I'm sure the idea of an investment-Adviser might sound controversial to a few, but a new study by Motley-fool found out that demand for Financial-Advisers sky-rocketed by over 42% since the pandemic and based on firsthand encounter I can say for certain their skillsets are topnotch. I've accrued north of 880k within 16-months from an initially stagnant Portfolio.
I actually subscribed for a few trading courses but it didn't help much, been getting suggestions to use a proper financial advisor, how did you go about touching base with your coach?
Certainly, there are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with ‘’Marisa Michelle Litwinsky’’ for about two years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look-her up.
I just switched up my Roth IRA to 50% SCHD, 25% SCHX, 25% SCHG, and my Roth 401k is 70% vanguard S&P 500 index, 20% vanguard growth index, and 10% vanguard international index. Seeking best possible ways to grow $350k into $1m+ before retirement, I'm 55.
Those sound like great picks! consider financial advisory so you don’t keep switching it up, top 3 payers for the month were $OHI, $KMI, and $EDP... not bad for 350k
You have a very valid point, I started investing on my own and for a long time, the market was really ripping me off. I decided to hire a CFA, even though I was skeptical at first, and I beat the market by more than 14.3%. I thought it was a fluke until it happened two years in a row, and so I’ve been sticking to investing via an advisor.
I'm intrigued by this. I've searched for financial advisers online but it's kind of hard to get in touch with one. Okay if I ask you for a recommendation?
I've shuffled through investment coaches and yes, they can be positively impactful to an individual's portfolio, but do your due diligence to find a coach with grit, one that withstood the 08' crash. The only real difference is the expense ratio. Go with SPLG if starting from scratch, otherwise keep VOO, if youdon't want to get hit with capital gain tax, and buy SPLG going FORWARD.
I've heard the stock market often does well during election years. I recently inherited a lump sum and want to invest it wisely to take advantage of this potential upswing. Do you have any tips or strategies?
A good portfolio should have three basic things: ETFs for diversification, dividend stocks for cash flow, and leading tech stocks. When starting especially with a lump sum, it's a good idea to talk to a fiduciary advisor for expert advice.
I believe every Investor should start with ETFs for a solid foundation, then diversify across asset classes and maintain disciplined, regular investing to minimize risks and maximize growth.
You don't need to find the next NVDA to succeed in investing. Just choose top-notch ETFs and partner with a financial advisor like I did. I turned $100k into $40,000 in annual dividends-a significant milestone for me today.
I'm cautious about giving specific recommendations as everyone's situation varies. Consider independent financial advisors like "Melissa Elise Robinson" I've worked with her for 6 years and highly recommend her. Check if she meets your criteria.
Options traders should go with the largest volume. But, for the regular long-term investor just go with the lowest fees. For a regular brokerage account you can just switch and start contributing to SPLG. No need to sell. In an IRA you can sell and save, it adds up over the years.
Thank you!! I've been asking people to looking this to see if there's anything I missed. I'm 4500 shares strong in splg. I'm hoping long run I can get that voo dividend when splg price Rises
You basically already do get that VOO dividend, VOO is currently $517.35, and SPLG is $66.18. For one share of VOO, you can get 7.81 shares of SPLG. This means that with essential 8 shares of SPLG, you'll get the equivalent of 1 share of VOO's dividend since both VOO and SPLG have the same dividend percentages.
For the Newbie if you are actually trading in the crypto space and you don't have a sound mentor. Then you are certainly going to get liquidated in 90% of your trades. Yeah that's sad truth. I remember when i just got into crypto back in 2019 but later in 2020 i ended up selling it because i have lost alot trading all by myself without a guide. Yea splg has been great! Earlier this year was almost up 40% now it fell a little to 28% since market head winds hit! Works for me either way! Mutual funds are ok just 7% on them! Hands down splg etf is the way to go!
I’ve tried investing in various things that didn't work out as I hoped. I'm now considering ETFs as a more reliable option. What are the best 5 ETFs for a rookie investor looking to invest a lump sum? let's say $500,000
JEPQ is my favorite so far. It pays monthly with over a 9% yield and also has stayed fairly level. The down side is that it was incepted in 2022 which means there is not a lot of history. I also like FEPI and SPYT.
An ETF with more risk and payout is QDTE. It pays weekly but is higher risk because it just came out this year. The fund is based on covered calls which make money in any market, up or down.

He probably wants some diversification. If he has QQQm in both accounts it’s redundant. They are both growth ETFs but slightly different. I’m planning on doing the exact same thing. SCHG has a much better E.R. At 0.04% vs QQQm’s 0.15%.
Totally. Schg and qqqm have different goals and fund methodologies. So I thought it was best to throw schg in as the top holding in my Roth IRA since I wanted it to be more growth focused for that account. VOO is the highest holding in my taxable followed by QQQM. I could invest in both but decided to have schd in the Roth.
I came across your channel through this video-case studies are incredibly valuable, and I'm eager to see more in the future! Building wealth involves establishing routines, like consistently setting aside funds at regular intervals for smart investments.
True. Anything in a taxable account will incur taxes on Dividends, mostly depending on your income. For me I’ll pay 15% which isn’t much since the yield is 1.3% roughly
I wouldn’t recommend selling out of all 500 shares at all. You could just switch and start putting money into SPLG if you really want to save a thousand thousand over the long run so no real significant advantage besides the very minor expense ratio savings with SPLG. I’m personally just going to stick with VOO forever
Same, I met Elizabeth stark last year for the first time at a conference in Wilshire, after then my Life has changed for good.God bless Elizabeth stark
Totally. So since VOO has a way way higher share price (over $500 per share), it will pay more of a dividend given 1 share is very expensive compared to SPLG which has a way lower share price (around $65 dollars per share).

SPLG is better priced for writing option contacts, you seemed not to mention that point. I.e. It's easier to buy and sell lots of 100 shares of a lower priced ETF.
GREAT VIDEO! They trade the same, and no reason to sell out of VOO. I own some VOO but will buy SPLG in the future for options, and I'm not sure if Schwab does by the slice on these ETFs.
Not quite. The share price is significantly different. However, if both have the same values (e.g. $10K), the total dividend payout amount should be the same.
Thank you!💙. I legit gave a call to vanguard about this a similar topic. Honestly I don’t ever see vanguard ever closing VOO or VFIAX. They have trillions of dollars of investors money, so they are making a ton of profit of the very small .03% expense ratio. What funds usually do is maybe… just maybe down the line they lower the expense ratio to .02% if there is a significant amount of outflows to compete with other ETFs. So in short. Yes they can technically close any fund if they wanted to but this is highly unlikely to ever happen with VOO or VFIAX. I can almost bet with certainty that won’t occur
Let’s see that performance and cost basis tab. Idk why you keep hiding it and not showing your account. Vanguard reveals almost no personal information…fudge a screenshot we want to see percentages and performance. It would benefit your RUclips as well. Seeing is believing and brother you show nothing.

Not quite. The share price is significantly different. However, if both have the same values (e.g. $10K), the total dividend payout amount should be the same.
GREAT VIDEO and comparison. ❤
At some point, can Vanguard decide to close VOO and its mutual fund version VFIAX?

I can’t wait to be a millionaire because of you.
Thank you Eddie!!
What are the best strategies to protect my portfolio? I've heard that a downturn will devastate the financial market, so I'm concerned about my $200k stock portfolio.
You forgot to compare "growth". VOO wins by a long run.
Are you talking about all time?

As an lnvesting enthusiast, I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. . I’ve been sitting on over $545K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here, is it a good time to buy into stocks or do I wait for another opportunity?.
Well as you know bigger risk, bigger results, but such impeccable high-value trades are often carried out by pros.
People dismiss the importance of advisors until they are burned by their own emotions. I remember a couple of summers ago, following my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to assist my business stay alive, so I looked for qualified consultants and came across someone with the highest qualifications. She has helped me raise my reserve from $275k to $850k, despite inflation.
How can I participate in this? I sincerely aspire to establish a secure financial future and am eager to participate. Who is the driving force behind your success?
My CFA NICOLE ANASTASIA PLUMLEE a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further.
