GJIROKASTER! A Magical Stone Village in Albania

Gjirokaster is a medieval looking village in southern Albania. The first sight we saw was the Ali Pasha bridge which is an old stone bridge about 30 minutes walk from the town centre. The bridge looks as though it could be straight out of a fantasy world located at the base of a rocky valley in the wilderness. We also visited the castle which is a must see while in Gjirokaster. The castle is filled with relics from war times and offers panoramic views of the village. Definitely consider visiting Gjirokaster while in Albania, it was one of my favourites.
