I feel like what a lot of people miss in this scene is that it is very likely this is the first time Diana has ever seen someone die. Thats a pretty big deal
What people *really* miss is the moment she watches the bullet pass right by her, and kill one of her fellows. She could have easily stopped that bullet, if only she'd known she had the power. It makes all her future bullet-deflections that much more powerful.

It has also another symbolic signification: this is the first time a Amazon has ever die on Themyscira and the first one to die in millennia. Not to mention how easily she die, just a tiny bullet and that woman that has trained in combat for thoussand of years is gone, just like that, barely fighting. I think it was very disturbing for the amazons how easily guns could kill them despite their trainings and to have their first combat after thoussand of years of peace. Hence why Hippolyta wanted to murder Steve right now and there.
what people miss in this scene is that he can go on that island and do get protection and the germans who obviously even for ancient standards are abandoning a sinking ship have to fight their way on land.
The women jumping down the cliff with the ropes is an awesome scene.Along with the Amazon Women riding out on the horses. Patty is a phenomenal director executing her childhood WW origin.

Lol Amazon's was far more than prepared while Germans in this are not even for fighting they are a scouting unit in reality these Amazon's won't even stand a chance
.....if germans saw arrows, they'd just paddle back out of range and just take their time picking them off with their rifles. I get that it wouldn't make a good "action" scene, though it wouldve been a lot bloodier.

We don't see very often girls as warriors fighting in movies. When i see girls fighting and they are depicted so well (according to greek mythology) makes me feel so proud about our abilities. Imagine if women could fight so well on the batterfield.❤️

It’s a fantasy movie obviously if such events were to take place in reality the Germans would easily crush the Amazonaians. They need to loose for the essence of the movie.

They look absolutely as amazons should, but with all their history and military nature, they should know better than to leave their cover on the high ground, and just snipe the riflemen down.
Amazons are warriors instead of soldiers though, they don't really drill in tactics and strategy as much as individual skill, as such their strategy naturally developed to play into that. They are used to being superior fighters to everyone they face, so it makes sense to close into melee and finish the fight quickly.

It's a brief moment, but I like that bit at 0:46 where Diana is staring in total confusion at the sight of a dead amazon. At the moment, she's not even really sad, because she just straight-up can't wrap her mind around what's happened to her. Death is something she probably only ever read about in books, something she knew about as an abstract concept. But, in practice, it's utterly alien to her. The idea that someone, especially someone she cares about, can just...stop existing? It's easy to forget how sheltered she has been during her upbringing from the world, but moments like this remind us how, despite having lived for centuries at this point, there are so many basic things about life that she hasn't been forced to understand yet.
After we got home from the movie theater, my sister yelled SHEILD to me. She literally tackled me, and fell atop of me it was hilarious.
