Let me just say this, I played football with AJ for 5 years in elementary school and early middle school and he was undoubtedly the most gifted player on that football field. So crazy to see where he's come. We will be seeing a lot more of AJ in the following years!!!!!

@PNW-87, the three main lifts of powerlifting are: Squat, Bench and Deadlift. He mentioned his deadlift 1RM as 665lb and he also mentioned his bench 1RM. I'm pretty confident he's doing squats for 1RM, too. So, yes, he is POWERLIFTING. Most likely he performing the hypertrophy, strength and power phases, successively. Plus, he mentioned his 1RM on both the deadlift and bench, collectively. Powerlifting is beneficial for wrestling as my sons and I are living proof, along with A.J. Ferrari. Facts don't care about your opinions.

    • @youarerightboss

It’s people like you who degrade this sport with baseless knowledge and senseless accusations. AJ Ferrari has been at the very top of the competition for his entire high school and now collegiate career - they have tested him like crazy. Also, as a physician I feel that I am inclined to share with you a few additional facts that could easily contribute to his physique - genetics...genes determine most of what a person is able to do PHYSICALLY and a lot MENTALLY, AJ has insane fast-twitch muscularity and he has an ungodly work ethic. Furthermore, most guys who take steroids, such as testosterone, are only trying to reach those same levels that you see in kids when they are peaking in their upper-teens and lower-20s - AJ is a true freshman with more than enough natural testosterone in his body to look like he does, and a lot more people could look similar to AJ if they had his discipline and work ethic. Lastly, you would have to be an idiot to gloat about a 665 deadlift and 600+ pound squat, ESPECIALLY while looking like a Greek God, if you actually were taking some kind of performance enhancing substances. I think it is fairly obvious to anyone who is evaluating this kid objectively to see that he is just build different and he is proof that not all men and women are created equal. Deal with it.
