Caroline, It was especially great to hear about your family today. It made my heart smile mama to mama I can relate to growing pains. My Riley wore size 12 shoes when he was 15. At sixteen I took him to his yearly physical with his pediatrician who has been with us since he was born. I asked if he was about done growing after they informed me he was 6ft 3inch. Dr Bauer laughed and said of no he’s going to be the size of a small bus. They grow til about age 21. He said they go into hibernation and then there will be a major final growth spirt. Riley graduated at sixteen and joined the ARMY. In April 3 years ago. So he went off to boot camp. When we went down to fort Sill OK to pick him up from boot camp, he had turned into a man. He had grown both physically and emotionally. I was not prepared. He such a empathetic, well mannered, responsible man. He was before. But now. He was the man form. I was so proud when he came running up to me and picked me up and hugged me. And mama is not a lightweight. Three years later he’s been promoted 4 times already. He’s a specialist. He’s deployed for training now. And when he gets home, he’s been told he’s being deployed long term. We are not allowed to know where. He’s wanted to be in the service since he was termite. It all started with one of those big dictionaries of war plans that you can get at Barnes and noble. I could and would love to tell you the rest of the story as it’s remarkable. The piece that made me start was when you were talking about your son’s scarf that you found when cleaning out all the winter wear. Well I was doing the same recently. Riley had this hat like Elmer Fudd always wore. He found it when he was 3 and begged me to buy it. He called it his pilot cap. It was an adult cap. Santa brought it that year. The same year Roudolph and the reindeer left hoof prints in the driveway and a red velvet ribbon with a big sleigh bell attached.Riley was over the moon.

Hi Caroline I’m a new subbie. I love your style of cross stitch and all the different things you’ve shown here. Your FFOs are AMAZING! I also enjoy your Evertote channel that you share with Carrie. In fact I found that channel first. Also, I knew you were Canadian but I didn’t realize that you’re so close to where I live now, in New Hamburg.
I would say that I’m a little past beginner as a cross stitcher because I’ve only made one FFO. The PDF pattern was purchased from Etsy by my daughter for my 3 yr old granddaughter’s room. A design with Jim Henson and seven other characters stitched on 14 ct Aida was a big challenge for my first project because she wanted the whole thing to be bigger. I didn’t know much about stitch count but knew that I didn’t like the look of 10 ct. In the end, I had to enlarge by drawing each character. After a year, it’s finally done!! i laced it, and framed it myself on an 11x14” frame. Certainly learned a lot by trial and error but I’m very happy to move on to something a little bit more my taste, I’m mostly a sewist, but I’m grateful to have found this wonderful new craft. Now I’m really 🤪looking forward to learning new things from you as well as a few other cross stitchers here on RUclips that I can relate to. Talk about a rabbit hole! Lol! Hugs 🤗 💕

Congratulations on that adorable project bag!! I am stitching Forest Flower now.
The EPP project bag you received is perfect. What a thoughtful gift. Just wanted to add the Inklingo is great for high volume of the same fabric hexies but did you know there are acrylic quilt stamps in hexagons that work best for scrappy quilts? They are see through so you can even fussy cut. There is a shop here in The Netherlands that created them. If you need links, I can let you know. They also stamp the sewing and cutting line and are fun and fabulous yo use.
I am already pulling up the new collaboration to look at it. And I was not going to order anything until I finished a few WIPs first. 😬 Oops...to cut to resist!!
    Happy stitching 🧵

Well, I do know that these products were specifically made and marketed for this purpose but I’m sure you could stitch on anything! The count on most linen napkins would be much higher I think - the count on my square is around 28 holes per inch
