Similar rain event in Woodstock in August 1969. I almost attended with my buddies, but at the last minute my friend's father backed out from letting my friend use his car. It's a lucky thing, cars were backed up for many miles from the concert area. We would have had to leave the car and walk the rest of the way. Whenever people go to summer outdoor events in the summer, don't ever be surprised if something like this takes place.

The other part of it is the event organizers and authorities failing to cancel it when all the signs were there to say they should of! The desert was flooded the week before the event was supposed to start! You can go to youtube and see a flyover of the desert before the event started! The pilot was like no way I would try and land in that! That was an aircraft with fat tires on it designed to land off runways!

The weather report said 30% chance of rain, and it rained almost the whole time we were there. It wasn't as bad as they are saying. People panicked. We left Tuesday morning. The playa was dry Monday night.
