It's nice to see the $30 baitcaster was able to snag that big catfish. It's great to see you fishing from that New Expensive Fishing Boat. I enjoyed the video. Thanks Alex. KiR!!!
It always seems to me that I catch my best fish on the "wrong" bait. Go crappie fishing with 1" tubes, end up with a 5lb 6oz bass. Go fishing for bass with a 3" ned rig dinger, end up with a 4lb carp (I don't know if I was more surprised than the fish, but it was close). And then, of course, out there fishing for crappie again on my ultralight and end up fighting a 20-ish pound catfish on 4lb test for a half hour. Fun, also happy to see another fisherman re-use baits (your mentioning of using the torn-up dinger as maybe a ned bait later on). Really enjoyed the video, keep'm coming and I'll keep watching'm!
To answer your question. Yes, two times I have had a fish give me jitters. Once, when I was 7 I caught a 30lb shovel head and two years ago when I caught my pb bass of 5.5lbs. Couldn't stop shaking. Great video. Thanks for sharing. KIR
Man Alex, you’re hot right now with real fishing and real results, no gimmicks, tricks, or lights camera actions scenes! I truly respect and admire what you do and doing! Thanks brother, for always keeping it realistic!!
Another great video from even a greater host. It's always fun catching a catfish while bass fishing. A lot of people don't like it but to me it's always fun to get one of them on. I usually catch them on crankbaits. Sometimes plastic worms. Keep it realistic brother.
A rare treat, a kitty on a soft plastic!! Awesome catches homie. I def know what you mean about the jitters after a good catch. One of the best feelings ever!! Awesome stuff
That channel catfish was probably wanting a quick bite to eat. I've caught a small catfish on a craw soft plastic before when I was targeting bass. This happened about a year ago. Wasn't expecting to catch a catfish from one. But it made me happy!
These boat videos are always a lot of fun. When you have a hand-operated trolling motor, the wind can get a bit frustrating, though. My little plastic Pelican boat gets pushed all over the place. But it's still way better than doing anything else!
Pleasant surprises are always welcome. To me it's part of the experience of not quite knowing what you're going to or potentially going to catch. The biggest bass I've ever caught still today was about 2 am on a Friday night catfishin with about an 8 inch live bluegill. Have also caught a couple in the 5 pound range using frozen shrimp while catfishin. I guess you could call it irony 😂 thanks for another great video Alex.
I was once fishing a 5 of Diamonds spoon for Northern Pike and hooked into a giant catfish. Not what I expected on a spoon but you just never know. As long as there is a line in the water you always got a chance.
Great video Alex, I've never caught a cat fish before. They aren't common in the places I usually fish. In regard to fishing from a boat in the wind, I fish from a kayak with a trolling motor, When its windy, I end up using an anchor to keep me in place while I fish.
Seemed to be pretty happy to catch that good looking Channel Cat. I like to stick a line out for them while I fish for whatever else is biting. I usually use old hot dogs or fish scraps since I don't like using live bait, unless I am catching them for a cause.
Nice catfish Alex, I caught a 11lb flathead catfish on a bandito bug about a year ago, I pitched it into the pond and as soon as it hit the water the fight was on. Great video Alex God bless buddy.
Catfish are some of the hardest fighting freshwater fish. They like to dig and swim at right angles. I'm kind of disappointed when I see it's not a bass (lol) but the fight is always great. That was a clean looking catfish.
Catching catfish on lures is an absolute THRILL. Always unexpected, but really fun because if they're hitting a lure the second it hits the water it means they're in predator mode and give a good fight. Great size catfish there. Definitely going to need to get in the habit of breaking a net with you now if you're going to get unexpected fish like that haha.
It's funny you say that I actually will sacrifice other gear just to make sure I can carry a net with me at all times. I lost a koi fish of a lifetime. I'll probably never get one to even look at my bait again just because I didn't have a net on hand.
Wow beautiful catfish I came this close to buy me a $30 baitcaster at Walmart the other night and I chickened out now I'm going back it's going to cool off this weekend I can't wait thank you for the video
Gotta love catching surprises when out with the rod. I tried for some small cyprinids with a size 16 hook and a single live bee grub - ended up catching a 2 ft eel. That's the magic of fishing. And of course - dinner was served afterwards.
Most relatable RUclips fisherman. I love watching Ayo and norm but you’re fishing videos are more realistic. Fishing with similar baits and combos as myself. And fishing in a calm non competition matter. Just because you love to do it. Keep it up 👍🏻
sup Alex, great video ty, nice bass, and great catfish, I'd eat it lol, on the smaller finger I cought 2 catfish overtime, think 1 was culprit 🤔? also on friends boat for cought crappie, when that happens I switch to crappie rig, always more there. tyvm for bringing us this video, my grandsons haven't seen a catfish that big. ty again
Boats have a great advantage ie fish finder and the ability to cast towards cover 👍🏻 ie bank. Great catfish. They are hard fighters. I can have a catfish pole soaker and ultralight . They always prefer my ultralight rig when pan fishing🤦♂️.
Catching catfish with bass lures is no strange phenomenon for me man. I've caught plenty with spoons, grubs, even worms. They're a pleasent surprise but I enjoy catching them. Though I take real caution if I ever lip catfish. Those rough sandpaper teeth they have can absolutely shred your fingers if you're not careful, been there, done that. Personally I go for the pectoral fins or the gills, regardless congrats on the catfish, they'll go for anything that's food. 👍
I would love a little John boat. There's plenty of videos on how to make a bass boat and I would like to give it a try. Also I love getting mystery fish, except when it's a family of turtles and I have to keep walking down the bank to let them go...
After my PB, I had the jitters so bad I stopped bass fishing and went to crappie fishing to settle down. I put that fish back in my pond. It was pushing 9 pounds, 2 years ago. Hope it is still there and growing. One of my friends ought to catch a double digit fish! 🎣🚣♀️🤠👵
I like how you keep things simple. A boat that works great for your needs, a basic fish finder and a medium-sized tackle box. KIR!
I am glad somebody is catching something this time of year.
The $30 combo handled that catfish like a champ. Nice fish Alex.
Nice to see you out in your boat. You caught 2 great fish and that catfish was a nice surprise!! Thank you for always keeping it realistic Alex!!!
That was a nice catch a catfish on a dinger that's a new one.
It's nice to see the $30 baitcaster was able to snag that big catfish. It's great to see you fishing from that New Expensive Fishing Boat. I enjoyed the video. Thanks Alex. KiR!!!
This $150 boat is getting it done 👍
Nice kitty. Love the surprise catches. Fishing in a boat with a t-rig on a $30 combo - the siren song for trolls.
But but but you only caught two in the first half hour. 😂
Cool promo! Love me some Yum Dingers. I'll never forget catching a little Pike on a wacky rig using a yum dinger
🥉 Sounds like fun!

I like your story that's exactly how it happens
DANG IT!!! You got me again. I was all focused and "BAM"... To be continued....
I love the "fishing the other side of the lake" videos...
There are some fish over there 👍
Love the tackle box,, old school all the way,, only on Realistic fishing with Alex ,, who always keeps it realistic
Nice channel. My best catch ever was a 7.5 channel. They fight like a freight train. Congratulations. Great catch.
Its fun to get one on a lure. They are strong
@@RealisticFishing yes sir. I got one @ a pound on a wacky rig once and it felt like a much bigger fish…they are a fun fish to catch.
You are so talented with that baitcaster!
Only $30 👍
Realistically, $29 and thousands of hours of practice and sacrifice.
It was $29 when I bought it. And yes lots of practice.
Heck yeah!!!!! Alex Slayin that Kitty Kat on the Yum Dinger🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Nice! Gotta love the Yum dingers
Always fun when they pull drag! Nice day out on the boat.
That was one heck of a surprise. Not used to seeing catfish hit the bait as it's falling. That was intense. Great day on the pond and boat.

I just caught a 5 pound Tilapia from a private lake in Tennessee yesterday Alex!! Got it up on my RUclips channel!!! Ya never know like you said!
Tilapia!
@@RealisticFishing Yessir!!!!! Family friends private lake in Lawrenceburg!!! They stock Tilapia for the bass to forage on they told me
I'm enjoying watching you fish out of the boat. I got started fishing in a small boat just like that, so it brings back a lot of memories!
That was a welcome surprise. Well played with the Cat.....KIR

Nice catfish and bass. I love that lake more every time you fish it. Great video Alex.
A rare treat, a kitty on a soft plastic!! Awesome catches homie. I def know what you mean about the jitters after a good catch. One of the best feelings ever!! Awesome stuff
Nice👍... love your videos man. From the bank or on the boat, keep doing a good job and KIR... Waiting for the second part... Congrats from Portugal

Wow ! Big catfish on a yum dinger , awesome!
Nice little boat setup. Hands down my favorite fishing channel! Glad the ozark trail is still holding up well.

Both the bass were clean-looking fish, but the catfish were beautiful colors.

Man you really can catch anything on a Texas rig. Awesome catch dude!
Always have a net when you have a boat. Because you'll never know when. Monster might show up 😄. Great catch!
so cool getting Cats on bass gear. Love it. Fish on

Wow, that catfish hit as soon as the rig hit the water. Nice

Sweeeet catch, nice and plump.
Keep up the good work Alex, always a pleasure watching the show.🤘
Always a good show, nice catfish!
Great video. I'll definitely try this rig.
That is such a crazy catch off of that. The best thing about fishing is not knowing what your gonna get next.

Kitty cat on the Yum Dinger??!?! Weird but awesome!
I caught a catfish on a paddle tail love catfish they fight good
Good to see ya getting back to fishing and not having to deal with the boneheads..KIR

Alex that was so exciting to watch my friend I love the enthusiasm and a Catfish lol man that was a nice catch.. stay safe my Friend Semper Fidelis
A video I watched earlier today talked about using Yum Dingers for cats, crazy!
After my PB, I had the jitters so bad I stopped bass fishing and went to crappie fishing to settle down. I put that fish back in my pond. It was pushing 9 pounds, 2 years ago. Hope it is still there and growing. One of my friends ought to catch a double digit fish! 🎣🚣♀️🤠👵
Who needs a persimmon when you got the dinger!? 😂
😆 🤣 That was a Yum Dinger of a surprise I bet 🤘
Nice ones, Alex! Although I dislike catching catfish, they do put up a nice fight. I bet that one was fun!
I have a friend who catches catfish on everything... flies, lures, spinners...you name it.
It's uncanny, really
Welcome to Realistic Catfish Nuggets. Hella catch!
Love that girl from Wisconsin!!
Sweet
Sweet!
My pb channel cat weighed 12 pounds 4 ounces on 8 pound mono
Nice cat my friend! Thanks again Alex!
Nice video, Alex!
Thanks!
A nice catfish by catch like that would give me the jitters as well.
Nice channel cat! I’ve never caught one on a lure but love fishing for them on cut bait in the Connecticut river! 👍🏻
They will gladly take lures for sure especially if there is a decent number in an area. Rub a piece of cut bait on a crank bait old trick.
awesome brother
When in doubt… Yank it out lol. That was a good catfish! And a pretty lil bass too :). Have a great weekend! KIR y’all

you must have dropped that dinger right in front of that cat. great catch.
OMG ALEX WHAT THE HECK that cat was huge wow and hit soon as the bait hit the water
Last winter I was jigging with a trout magnet along a river bank in muddy water and caught a carp. You never know.🎣
Heck yeah bro!!!!!!
