I still find it amazing that there are still people who believe that every body works in an office or store, I work in the utilities industry as a mobile plant and fleet engineer ( fixing broken down lorries and diggers etc) almost all the people I work with dig holes and put pipe and cable's in the ground who are all hourly paid and can only expect standard sick pay, I can't work from home or be paid a reasonable amount of money to stay at home . ......
Market correction will sort the real watch/Rolex owners from the boys. Many will now sell as they will get scared that their “investment” will decrease. I have collected seriously for 25 years and purchased numerous vintage pieces as well as new Rolex steel sports models at RRP. I’d say the new steel sports Rolex watches are unlikely to fall below RRP and so this will sort those that want to own the watches and can afford to do so, having saved to buy them through hard work, from those that only want to own to quickly sell for profit. Best wishes Paul and thanks for another great video
Although the times are tough and the world is dealing with a crisis. I do enjoy listening to you and David talk watches! Please take care of yourselves!
I understand everybody's concerns... have some myself to, actually I'm in the market for a new watch, but for now I postpone my purchase due to uncertainty on my income. My ratio tells me not to fear about my health or work situation, but looking at my stock portfolio I lost some great sum of money. My gut tells me to wait for better times, or to buy at these prices with confidence or get my new watch at a better deal. Both options are better then the current situation so I wait... just like a lot, lot of other people..
Very informative video Guys, When I was a kid and worked on the markets under a wonderful old git, he drummed into me every day, "Cashflow is King" you will never forget those three words when you start your own business, and yes the old git was right.
Thanks for keeping us up to date Paul. Great to hear your opinions along with David Khalil, I appreciate the honesty and expert opinions from you both. Stay safe
Nice to hear you guys talking real about the situation we are all in......we are in prep mode now, preparing resources for our family of 6.......... Good luck to you all! ✌️
There’s now four, count them, four steel Datejust 41s at my local Rolex AD in the Midlands U.K. that’s four more than normal. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of other steel models changing hands on the current climate behind the scenes. Weird times, but if you’re in the market for a steel DJ41 take your pick.
Larry B it’s a buyers market for sure right now the tables have turned, although Rolex have shut down production to protect their employees and to protect their product. They don’t want the situation of well stocked ADs with all models freely available and people starting to demand discounts due to over supply. It’s a smart move but the pieces in circulation are coming to the surface like never before.
Well put guys! we are living in strange and uncertain times.I have followed all your videos regarding pros and cons of purchasing a Rolex and now the AD I contacted confirmed that I just need a deposit on a new Rolex submariner with delivery expected soon.
The best thing to do right now is limit movement and socializing to a minimum, and have enough food for at least several weeks as times will be hard. Stay safe and healthy everyone, now it is time for compassion and togetherness.
@@markreynolds9135 social distancing requires a together move, instead of letting it run havoc in our communities. Togetherness in that we help the people that need help, and help the most risk group of people by social isolating.
Good to hear that the flippers game and ultra hyped watch prices like £25K used steel ceramic panda Rolex Daytonas will be a thing of the past. Those greedy parasites cashing in on the watch business and causing shortages for everyday guys into watches have had their day. This is one of the very few upsides of Covid-19 so far.
Greetings from US m8. We are experiencing a bear market and prices are crashing. Sooner or later, the bubble for luxury watches was going to burst. And now it has. The flippers will be feeling the pain here very soon if they haven't already. Just how the watch game as well as economics work.
People are using those stickers to try and pass off used watches as unworn. Hard as nails Positive Paul is struggling! 😥 Yes I hope those flippers dry up now finally. People are buying precious metals now not watches.
'Herd Immunity'- It's all in the name. The public are being referred to and treated as 'cattle' in the UK. This virus is here to stay for many months at least, you'll need liquid CASH to pay for food and bills in the long run. So unless you're swimming in cash you would have to be crazy to buy luxury watches.
@@markreynolds9135 fair comment. I meant transferable money in whatever form, whether in cash or by debit card both are liquid and transferable. Although a healthy reserve of cash in hand is always advisable during times of uncertainty....because banks are not immune to financial instability caused by extreme events.
Those hyped watches will fall - just give it time. Once the recessions start, those middle income punters that were ponying up 10k for a Rolex will dry up. People haven't lost their income........YET. Luxury watches aren't immune to a huge correction - not sure where that idea ever came from.
Went down my local Zurich Rolex AD today, not much in the way of SS but tried on a Daytona white dial TT which was on stock. Not many in but a few punters about.
I hope you all are well. It’s odd that the head of NCAA sports said, “we’ve received startling information” and closed all college sports in the USA. What was the startling information? It’s odd.
The guy with Batman is going around and asking 10k and no one is buying!?Are you following the guy? You just want to stack up your stock,,, It’s funny how dealers are trying to take advantage of any situation,. Rolex will stop releasing new stock and I guarantee the prices won’t fall off until everything is back to normal,. Good try David!
Too the knob head flippers. I’ll swop you 2 toilet rolls and a small bag of pasta. For you overpriced Rolex. You in the crap mugs the financial market is going into meltdown this Chrono thing will affect all of us for the rest off this years and possibly a few years to come
every so often, the world has a correction. mother nature has thrown up this virus and we're facing another correction. all we can do is take care of our families and ourselves.
For those that have cash get ready, soon you will be able to buy your new Rolex for the proper retail price. Flippers will suffer!
Submariner in the window of my AD today, bi-metal, but I haven't even seen one of those for over 2 years.
Nice watch mind.
This Channel is so unique. No one else brings us this stuff. Keep it up, Paul.
Totally agree 👍👍

Great post.
ryan seneviratne fully agree with you mate, cheers
Local AD just has said a collector has traded in two steel Submariners and bought solid Gold GMT. What's that all about?
Although the times are tough and the world is dealing with a crisis. I do enjoy listening to you and David talk watches! Please take care of yourselves!
All the best to everyone in the U.K.
I wish everyone the best and pray we all get through this. God Bless.
This is great hope all the watches go down in price!!Then one can really buy a nice watch at a fair price.. time to buy people

Excuse the spelling error during the video guys!
Paul Thorpe Watch Dealer No problem Guv’na!
Paul Thorpe Watch Dealer you don’t need to spell good to be great that’s what my teachers told me 👍🏻
What spelling mistake ?
On a positive note from a buyers perspective. If you are sitting on cash; now would be great time to negotiate a great offer on your dream watch.
Two lovely honest gentlemen 👍🇮🇪
Interesting to look back at this just 6 weeks after the recording, chaos.

If the situation worsens, the premiums above the RRP of rolex steel sports models will soon vanish

Not sure if I should purchase my Omega Speedmaster moon watch that I've been after for some time now 🤔
I have seen Pepsi watches ceramic for about 14k to 15k

Did you steal Austin Daniel’s intro music ?
Rolex is closing it's production sites in Geneva from 5:00pm tonight . To limit risk from this virus .

Love how many people in these comments are experts on virology.

Walked down the entire length of Bond street and not one person in any of the premises.
Just staff stood around like lost souls.

Internet sales still ok.
Buy Only Rolex and Patek watches now. 👍👍
Shame, just 10 days or so later it was compulsory that it wouldn’t have happened anyway. As were in total lockdown.
I think Rolex is still good well...They have customers on the wait list to buy the hot watches.
if the situation gets worse even Rolex won't be immune to this. The economic implication can be huge.
Ann Margret will save us.
Rolex will probably close the factory due to the beer name begining with C
