11:00 how'd he match cut that zipper cut? 🤔 just slip piece under it and carefully cut from grass blade side downward or what? 🤔
Overlap and cut simultaneously
You never fail to impress me, David. And your crew is good at what they do

Not a fan of artifical tuff myself but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a finely done job of installing it. Looks good!👍
Thanks 👍
So won’t the staples catch in the Lawnmower Blades 🤭🤣
Nice episode Tim. Interesting to see how you make a seam. Obviously Dad can stay in Arizona, you got things covered in So. Cal!
Ty but he still does come down to socal once in awhile 😎
Are you guys not completely removing weeds and vegetation? Looks like most people I see install turf are just removing from the surface. Does the weed barrier suffocate the roots that are left over? Genuinely curious to know how weeds arent popping through the surface
I have the same question!
That looks really really fantastic compared to what it started out as 😯
Yeah made a good difference
What about Tweaker style? Where you remove every blade of turf with tweezers then tie the seem with dental floss before gluing all the turf back in place using super glue. 😂
Intense
Speaking from experience?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Np
Curious why the homeowner only did a partial stucco on back wall 🤔

The wiz kid
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Does have a better ring to it.
...did many jobs with artificial turf- Central Florida area...what people dont realize is especially here in Florida, Artificial turf gets hot...REAL HOT....+120°-150°.... no fun barefoot or for your pets!..
Ive done outside edges stapled with narrow crown 1 3/4" staples to composite boards, seams stapled into a multiple layer of plastic sheeting and mirifi fabric...irrigation staples tend to bunch up the turf if your not careful...also,consideration for excessive rainfall (like here in Florida), i might also go to a channel drain at the edge between paver and turf since you now have made all of the area in the yard impervious to water.
Sounds good
TY
Hit me back if you guys do jobs In Thousand Oaks ca
so you ended up covering over the drain tops, with the turf? or were the drain tops low enough to have gravel on top as well?
drainage? do you guys just cover them over?
What are your guys hands made of iron 😅putting the nails in by hand ✋️
Should you add a weed barrier if you have pets? I heard it leaves a bad smell
Wall needs to be painted all same color.
Yes
My only comment is related to the fact you don't service the San Jose, Ca area would be great if you could add turf to our backyard. Either way, enjoy watching your installations.
Maybe someday
I don’t see the drainage
Im a carpet installer and could totally install turf.
Yes
Did you guys take a nap on the hammock before you removed it???
We put it back up after 👌
Teamwork makes the dreamwork. Those short hair turfs are more better because you don't got to mow them as much, too.

Awesome craftsmanship. So If i understand correctly, you’re putting drains in but covering it with turf?
What are your thoughts on weed barrier? I have dogs and want to put a weed barrier but I’m concerned it won’t drain well
No need, with a good base
Thanks for the videos & tips. What base would you recommend for back yard with dogs in SCAL California?
Great job! Great crew! Excellent result!❤❤❤
Thank you 🙏
Excellent job and many techniques. I think both S and zigzag techniques are almost the same as long as you can hide the seams.
I’m glueing mine to concrete. I’m glueing the perimeter, do I have to glue anywhere else?
Where do you get your turf
That base is sand or concrete mix or specific sand can you let me know the name thank you
Just wondering, dont you need some of that weed blanket control?
No
No need
What do you consider short blade height?
Este
Straight seams.. if it’s put together well, you won’t see them no matter the line
👍
💯💯💯
Where did you get the artificial turf? How much per yard? Roll? Please and thank you
Home Depot
Where to get good, affordable turf is the question. The few small pieces I bought have fallen apart after a year - Edit - found your comment on another comment on where you bought the turf
Home Depot
Why didn’t you put the drainage below the gravel at dirt level as the water will need to fill up that area to get above the drainage hole to be useful. Asking because I am doing that now and would like to install correctly.
might not drain as well
Thinking about getting turf installed i see in video that you went up to the block wall does the footing get in the way for tacking it down with the
nails and staples so its nice and snug or is it better to have a paver border off the wall a foot or so just curious thx
Depends on depth of footing
What is the name of the tool at 12:35 in the video? I have a carpet tucker, but think I may want to pick one of those up just in case.
Same thing
If your Name is Jose your nick name is CHINGON.
Actually Joe or Manuel
How much would something like that run for? thanks
Depends
Cool vid , got some turf for my shitty sunless backyar gona give it a shot
Cool
American gardena always look so soviet with all the concrete. Concrete walls and floors! You guys could really use some nice Yorkshire stone flags or something for character. Then again my garden walls are stone and were built before the states were united so you'd probably think they look messy. Different strokes for different folks. Looks like some good work though guys.
You have walls from before 1776?? lol I doubt that
@@XrpAndy Yes, I do. I live in York, Yorkshire. Our buildings here on stonegate make 1776 look like yesterday, our city is literally built inside castle walls and my local pub, where I was drinking just last night, also on stonegate, was built in 1664. My friend from Chicago was married here recently and he got married in the merchant adventures hall, which was built in 1352. I'm giving you the names of the buildings and streets so you can a) Google them and b) have a look on Google maps. The rear wall in my garden is from the 11th century. 1776, like I said, is not very long ago buddy.
@@yanceyboyz damn that’s pretty cool.
Does the artificial turf act as a weed barrier as well, or will weeds still grow here and there so to speak ?
Love the way it looks and the craftsmanship 👍
Yeah it’s does just around the edges weeds may pop up
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Yes, if you want to prevent weeds from growing, you need to deal with the soil layer, such as compacting the ground, or paving the cement layer
What’s the life span of the turf?
20 years
Nice❤
Like always you guys are the best.
ty
Ok I officially don’t want to do this myself
👍👍
Good job guys
ty
Gorgeous!
Thank you! Cheers!
Should’ve done the wrong whole backyard in concrete. That fake grass is cancer
Saves water and labor
