Hi, great vdo tks! My Pdx 8 snare goes softer when I hit it very hard - its like half the volume, any ideas why, my others don't do that. TD - 11KV. Thanks.
Maybe you can try to hit exactly on the sensor part 4:03, if it sounds louder than the other part on the drum head, it’s probably the sponge has become thinner, if so just replace with the new sponge
Hello.. it’s depend on your drums model, each drum head has it own size/type of sponge, like mine is 19x20mm sponge. you need to check your model first and try to find it on E-bay or Alibaba
@@derekwei2025 I got a used one listed as "Fullyt working".. came to me and the Mesh Trigger sponge was melted.. how the hell did it even melt. Good thing its a quick fix, unless I have to change the whole piezo.. its less sound tho compare to my brand new pads.. I also ordered a 10" Lemon tom, if plays well I probably will sell 2 of my pdx-8s and get the lemons for floor toms.. I really hate the plastic ring
Mesh cleaning, take a soft brissled tooth brush, dedicated it for this purpose, use a tiny drop of mild dish detergent on the brush, get the brush moist to create suds and gently begin to work it around to dislodge any debris. Run it under the sink, you can speed dry it by sort of waving it around in the air, or leave em for an hour or two as you surely don't want them damp when you put theem back together, hope this helps.
Those on that link don't look right. I've seen some on ebay that look similar. Like someone made their own. Were they actually decent quality, or should I just DIY my own?
Thank you very much, its solve my pad problem.
Good job😀👍
Will the same dimensions also work on the pdx-6?
i have problems with my pdx12 snare, would be posible to take a pdx8 foam and change on pdx12
Hi, where I can buy this sponges?
Ali Express

@@derekwei2025 ok tks.
Thanks! What type of sponge can I use? Is it a high density sponge?

If DIY, I think is the high density sponge
Yes DIY with some similar sponge works perfectly, cone or round shape
excelente, como se llama la pieza de repuesto ? / what is the name of the spare part?
It is snare drum trigger sponge or trigger cone
@@derekwei2025 what measure is it?
19 x 20mm
@@derekwei2025 muchas gracias
@@derekwei2025 what happens if you buy 28x20?
Aren't they supposed to be dual triggered?
nope pdx-8 and pdx-6 are single triggered
Derek, what's the dimension of the sponge? Ebay listing shows 20mm dia X 28mm height. Will this work for Roland PDX-6 and PDX-8 pads?
The original size is 19 x 20mm for PDX-8
When would you say its time to change the piezo?
It usually very durable, unless it totally soundless i think

Could you please share a link from where you got the replacement foam from?
You could get it from Alibaba, Taobao or eBay, just type Roland trigger sponge. And the comment below got mentioned the sponge size too
What did you use to clean the sensor?
Electronics cleaning alcohol
@@derekwei2025 Regular alcohol would damage the piezo?
@@trevorbelmont4633 I couldn’t advise on this, better use the cleaner for electronic/pcb board
@@derekwei2025 I have contact cleaner for electronics, im not sure if thats what you meant by it
@@trevorbelmont4633 it should be okay if it’s for electronic uses
Do they have a specific size for that? And do you have a mesh cleaning video?
The actual size of sponge in 19 x 20mm
sorry if you had to say that a number of times in this video hehe :D thanks anyways
@@trevorbelmont4633 Not a problem

My snare is works well so far after replaced the sponge. it's more convenient on just buy and stick it on.
I'm the first view!!!
Could you send me the sponge part number only ?
Not much different then an Alesis drum, looks like Roland uses heavier gauge wire than Alesis does in their drums.
