My cousin, Paula, did Ms. Wells' hair for this movie. My grandfather, grandmother and aunt were on their way to church one Sunday in 1946, when they saw a car pulled over to the side of the road at the corner of Robison Road and 7th Street. My grandfather always helped others in time of need and decided to walk up and check on them. The couple in the car had been shot, and later was found out to have been two more victims of the phantom killer. It was a really scary few months for Texarkana, and is still something that is talked about.
WoW! What happened to Dawn Wells in the movie? There's a gap between her combing her hair & the next scene she's bloody crawling thru a cornfield. How did she get bloody?
RIP "Mary Ann." Dawn Wells was so underrated and lovely: she was a Miss America contestant (representing Nevada). Watching her crawl through a corn field covered in blood is disturbing.
I just love her. I met her once when I was about 5 or thereabouts. It was during a Jerry Lewis telethon on Labor Day weekend and I had collected money. She was down at the Municipal Auditorium (I think, could haven been the CBS studios down there across from it) in Nashville helping collect the donations and giving away signed photographs. I believe I still have it somewhere. It was a black and white photo. She was very sweet. She looks fabulous too.
This and The legend of Boggy Creek take me back to a simpler time when the trailer could scare the crap out of you, I saw this at a drive-in in Borger Texas when it came out.
I was visiting with my cousin, Charles B. Pierce, and was present on the set when Dawn was crawling through the corn field. My family and I gave her a ride back to the motel when she was finished with the scene. The back set of our car looked like a murder scene because of the fake blood on her. Charlie told me it was food coloring and syrup...
this should scare you because of the fact that it was based on some things that took place in that small town but miss dawn was so courageous to play a role in this it makes me feel so afraid for her so she so talented In every aspect of it that's why I love her so very much yes I do god bless you baby girl mary Ann summers sweetness😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.

It’s sad that Dawn Wells never got to meat the actual surviving woman (who were still alive at the time).
This film was a very good film tbh I loved it. She really did pull it off I think her scene had to be the most scariest scene of the whole film.
was on tv last night but this part cut out
When was this interview? She was still gorgeous.
