+Rodney Harper You would have to be to take on a show like 'Wicked'. I cannot imagine the sheer amount of work that goes into supervising all those wigs!!
Thank you guys for your dedication to the craft of wigmaking and styling for theatre. I started in theatre and was trained in England for 5 months in the 90s by a master wig maker who was self taught in Bristol Tall blond Peter Owen, I have lost touch, but I respect and owe him immense gratitude for setting me on a successful path with wigs in Toronto, I now work in film and my years working in theatre has set me apart from film hairstylist because of my wig and period styling. I now teach these valuable skills to salon hairdressers who want to work in film. I no longer make wigs but I teach the fundamentals of making and working with wigs and period styling. I miss the theatre atmosphere and the culture. Keep posting more videos.👍👏👏🙏🏻❤️❤️
I saw wicked on tour and it was magical and alpha is such an inspiration . I was wondering if any of the actors and or actresses have any rituals before going on stage
wow i am an actress and i think getting my measurments at school is a lot, this would be a flurry for me o.o i loved watching them make wigs, my fav part of any costume
@awesomechic99100 The Behind the Emerald Curtain tour is still open! There are select Saturdays available this fall/winter to take this behind the scenes look at the making of WICKED. Be sure to visit the official Behind the Emerald Curtain website for more information.
What amazes me most is how well the hairline is. The hair looks like it's actually growing out of their heads :D.
maddie clarke I’d be willing to bet they’re lace front wigs. Lace fronts tend to look more realistic, as the lace gives a more hairliney type thing.
maddie clarke well sweetie welcome to the world of lacefronts
@@carmelamorano6296 it's true but I think it isn't only a lace "front". The whole wig is a lace wig so it takes even more time to make them 😂
at 4:27 you can see he has a Wicked tattoo
Jared the wig supervisor is a really good friend of mine and HE IS FIERCE!!!!!!
+Rodney Harper You would have to be to take on a show like 'Wicked'. I cannot imagine the sheer amount of work that goes into supervising all those wigs!!
I always thought they used the actors actual hair for Wicked (especially for Glinda) but I guess they just have amazing wigs
Anybody else find it ironic that the wig supervisor is bald? XD
the first thing i said was "oh yes, of course, he knows about hair"
Haha,I know right? He did a very good job though and Wicked is such an amazing show that I don't even care.
totally agree with you and he definitely knows about hair
I guess it explains his interest in wigs lol
well I guess that makes me as odd cause I was into costuming but was (and still am) good with tees and jeans 😁😉
You know, its the little things that make Wicked so awesome.

Am I the only one loving how sparkly the hair pins are on the wigs!?
Loving the wig at 04:23
beautifull wih
*wig
+Sam Barker I know, us in the real world could never wear something so prettty
+DSM Productions (official) true... it takes me 15 mins to sort out my real hair lol
+Sam Barker that is quite quick compared to others but a good human hair wig would take seconds and no 1 could tell.
These need more Katie!!!!!!!!!
This is the only stuff i enjoy learning about in the summer :)
Honestly, I thought they took existing wigs from previous shows and used those again. But now that I think of it, that probably wouldn't work.
I love learning this stuff about Wicked!!!
I saw wicked on tour and it was magical and alpha is such an inspiration . I was wondering if any of the actors and or actresses have any rituals before going on stage

What they do with the wigs after they replace the cast?
Andreina Barreto they take them apart and reuse the hair or the cast can buy their wig.
@coreyavefl2009 Glad I could help. :-)
Dear Wicked, BRING IDINA MENZEL BACK!!!!!

David Pontrella she’s a bit too old now lol
I hope those people who had to put each strand of hair are rich!

The wig supervisor is very ironic, he works with haira but he has no hair
So are all the wigs full lace? Why couldn't they just make a frontal or a 360 hairline?
Is Jared single? He's cute!
