It's a good goal to strive for! If you're used to traditional drawing, they can REALLY help you out. But some people are talented enough to make digital masterpieces with their mouse...
Kapanyo They sketch on paper, then they scan it to their digital software and go over with a line tool. Then they use a fill bucket to colour and use the line tool to draw the parts that need to be shaded. Then they fill the shaded parts in the colours using the fill bucket. They changed the hue and contrast of the photo and they add lighting by using a brush and changing the blending mode. I know this because I used to draw with a mouse but now I use an intuos comic tablet.

But it's still open for interpretation. While most artists do tend to draw Frisk with messier hair and Chara with neater hair, there is no hard evidence for that.
I know where you are getting it from, I'm just used to seeing it my way I guess. Maybe it's the bangs, since if you look at the sprite, Frisk has choppy bangs and Chara has straight ones. But as I already stated before, there is no need to get so riled up about this, I still love Alyssa's art and I actually really appreaciate her for stopping Undertale.
