I'm no veteran, but I agree. It's so good I usually listen first without watching. Then watch it later and I always realize that I got the full picture by listening the first go 'round without visual input.

Ali… I like how you spoke about dignity, I’m a nurse and I treat each and everyone of my patients with dignity and respect, it makes me unable to even sleep at night when I see how the Palestinian people are being treated and dehumanized. It’s especially difficult to see the elderly people who have endured so much in their lives and to see them have to suffer and be displaced from their homes or have them destroyed just really hurts my soul. I can see the pain in their eyes, this is a time of their life when they should be able to live in the comfort of their homes and be surrounded by their family. I am speechless right now.

Yes I agree and I have written letters to my state representatives, signed many petitions and of course spread the message about BDS… you never see a Starbucks coffee at the nurses station anymore because they all know that I boycott them and I have talked about what is happening every day.
I actually got through to a secretary in Washington DC for sherrod brown and they took my message about my opinion on Palestine and what our politicians need to represent in congress, he wanted my information, they never called or even sent a letter!

Yes, saw that excellent and informative interview also. This agrees with Ilan Pappe’s recent remarks that we are witnessing the beginning of the end of the Zionist project and when these settler/colonial societies are in their terminal stage they are their most brutal and violent.

I don't acknowledge the word nazi but Britain certainly is moving towards fascism every day. look at the European vote. Peaceful Encampment of our Capitals until it's installed, or run Mascot Candidates
Single Issue Referendums with thresholds and a social contract means Communities can vote their own laws.
A Public Authority can audit police and prosecute bad cops in our own courts.
Nationalise resources and give Indigenous peoples the right of Sovereignty over them as Guardians.
This can be achieved through a General Strike or Velvet Revolution, much like the Occupy movement, peacefully occupying State Buildings until a People's Mandate can be implemented.
With the appropriate checks and balances, you could have a national digital forum where qualified professionals can debate the issues in a public setting without all the disinformation and bad faith antics, hatespeech etc.
Any vote would need to pass the 70% threshold, with a veto or _rewrite_ vote needing 30%.
The issues would be debated, the public educated, and then a vote taken. Votes that fail will have to wait a year before trying again. Any new proposal (Citizen Initiated Referendum) would have to reach a threshold of support before it made it onto the register.
This would be subject to a Social Contract (New Constitution) that forbids human rights abuses and discrimination.
That can be written in the same manner based on the core principles we all share. Councils and Boards could operate in the same fashion at Scale.
It works in a way that obligates people to better educate themselves ( that is to use logic and evidence in their reasoning ) for a better understanding of the issues, and then take collective responsibility for the outcomes. As opposed to the divisive US v them scapegoating and bi-partisan finger pointing the current Capitalist Pyramid Scheme runs on.
Enough is enough

While I agree that direct action is probably the most effective way to put pressure on our politicians to stop funding this genocide, voting is still part of the overall strategy of resistance. Both Jill Stein has been consistent voices for Palestinian rights. (Jill was even attacked by the police and arrested when she visited one of the campus encampments). Cornell West has also been so, but voting Green would be a more effective message because they will be on far more ballot lines than West, plus I think a more concentrated vote sends a stronger message than one spread among multiple candidates. If people stop making the assumption that they only have a non-choice between corporate genocidal party A or party B (Democrats or Republicans) and actually vote their values, then it WILL shake the system. Even getting 10 percent of the vote will make the Democrats quake. It's long-term stuff but the long term also needs to be addressed.
The green party in America has had decades and haven't gained any seats in Congress.
