What Ballard mentions at about 10:00 is what sets coaches like Steichen and coaches like him fun to watch when he puts a team on the field. He adapts to his roster. It's great to plan for the players you'd like to have on the field and get the guys in the draft that you think will fill holes, but at the end of the day if you can't adapt your game plan to the players you have available you've already. Only a handful of NFL coaches seem to be able to pull this off. I hope we can retain Shane for as long as he wants to coach!

I’m interested to see if Ballard learns from previous seasons. Where he has left a position group unaddressed. It’s cost the Colts in the past. You must exhaust every option to bring in additional depth to that secondary. The Colts are close and not is the time to push them in. Nice two year window maybe even three to win one.
Previous seasons were completely different gotta remember that, you cant go all out if we were rotating qbs for 6 or 7 of the yrs it just wouldn’t be smart, these next few seasons are where we see what hes made of he already rebuilt the roster from where it started
He mentioned that he’s looking at some Vets, and you can only assume he means DBs. Waited to see if they picked a DB early, and now have some decisions to make. Simmons would be a great Safety pickup for a year or two. Gilmore could also make a return for a year if he wants. He’s losing a little more every year at this point, but he’s still solid. We would be in a pretty good spot after that
It’s also payed off in the past. Recently with the O-line. Now it’s back to being good.
This is up to the DC in my opinion. We played so much cover 3 which is outdated in today’s league and doesn’t allow for a good display of talent. Hoping Gus makes a scheme change and allows the young guns to shine and prove how good they actually are

@@mikaelhaggard8031 I am a new Colts fan. Started last year. They did very well considering injuries and a new coach. This year they will dominate. What happened in the past doesn't count since I am making that claim based on today, not many years ago. He is the best GM in the NFL now (today). At the end of this year's season, that will become apparent.

I haven't been a huge fan of the Colts draft targets the last few years, but I think Latu will be one of the best defensive players drafted in years. I really think he will be that good. It's too bad you're still stuck with Anthony Richardson

Ballard always makes me think he's trying hard and he wants to win but he's not really sure of his own ability. That's probably justified given the Colts record under his tenure.
