Birding in Ecuador 2015

- I spent two months volunteering as a guide at Bellavista Lodge in northwestern Ecuador January and February 2015. During my time I managed to capture some video footage of the forest wildlife and birdlife, which I have finally got around to editing into this video.
Ecuador forest wildlife is awesome to see. this country has the most beautiful birds in the world. Thanks for sharing a lovely video Ben.
Only just now stumbling across this nice video. It shoots me back in time, to Aug 2005. I spent a few nights at Bellavista, moseying along the tracks on my own. Missed much, as you do without a guide, not knowing any sounds. Still got some good birds, but seldom good photos if you catch my drift... But, thanks to some more or less shitty photos I got ID later.
Returned to Ecuador 3 more times after that. 2011 we were all over the place with Jonas Nilsson as a guide. Main focus was the south, but we had a few days both in NW, NE and Napo WC. I had bought a little videocam that I tried to use, while mainly birding and just taking photographs. The result is as bad as you can imagine, when you try to serve too many masters and don't have the physical stamina to carry all necessary equipment (as a TRIPOD for instance).

Wow, wow, i have no words for such a majestic nature on earth. The colors are so so amazing. I'm motivated to capture such birds with my lens. Great efforts friends.

Оказывается райские птицы поют очень плохо, не мелодично и не приятно на слух.Но зато у них красивое, разноцветное оперение, да еще и разнообразной формой. Чего нельзя сказать за наших, скромно " одетых" пташек, но замечательных певцов, пением которых просто заслушиваешься.И даже наши красивые пестрые дятлы и красногрудые снегири поют так себе: какие-то резкие звуки и щелчки, как и тропические ихние собратья.А чем неприметнее птичка, типа соловей или дрозд, тем прекраснее она поет.
