Did a Masters of the Air tour with Donald Miller in 2022. They were just wrapping production filming, he told us that both Hanks and Spielberg were sticklers for complete accuracy. Can’t wait.
They do a great job. I do have to laugh, however, because the bomb group identified at the end of this clip is incorrect. The 389th didn’t arrive in Europe until June 1943 and didn’t strike Wilhelmshaven until November 1943. Bucky Egan also didn’t fly with the 389th when he went over early; he flew with the 305th. More than that, though, the 389th didn’t even fly B-17s - they flew B-24s. Makes me wonder. Still, looks visually fantastic and I'm very optimistic that this is one of few errors.

Someone cast this man as Indiana Jones please. I always thought no one other than Harrison Ford could do justice to that character, but Austin Butler checks all the boxes. He has the looks, the charisma, the deep voice, plus he is an excellent actor. I wish I was a Disney executive right now, I would make it happen no matter the costs.

I am the grandson of a bomber navigator from the European theatre. I’ve spent a lot of time researching my grandfather’s missions, which culminated in his Lancaster being shot down and only 3 of 5 of his crew bailing out successfully. I can’t relate to these characters. They seem like well paid actors not people trying to retell important stories. It’s lightweight. But perhaps I am biased.
What's with the shirt colors? Maybe it's the lighting, but those class-A uniform colors look gray on Gale and black on Bucky. Only two colors (with slight variations of those as well) were worn back then, khaki, and olive drab, which looked almost dark brown.

Master's of boredom! Hanks usually hits on these, but this is a mesh of every other Hanks war epic. But it' lacks the great characters and compelling storylines. By the third episode I didn't care who made it back.
What was that?.. it's sad how much has changed since Band of Brothers. This feels like a bunch of over confident, make up clad, unlikeable characters. Everything is too clean cut and polished and egotistical. I'm surprised it went in this direction. The directors seem scared that no one will tune in if they produced a gritty realistic war drama with normal looking and normal acting people.
