Shockwave travels through liquid, gas or water upon impact or combustion... sound moves through air ; so the air vs water and land changes speed The sound of impact straight to the camera makes sense to beat the shock absorbed in water then land ... the shock wave in the air vs sound I'd think the Shockwave would push faster than the set speed of sound (volume/decibels/hz don't affect speed where the amplitude or size of an impact or boom doze increase its speed So its ,is there enough weight and speed,depth and distance and more to be more energy than 750mph or not
One of the the most awesome sights I've seen was with my Wife in 1995 (?) late at night when we we walking in our campsite in Bishop, CA. when a meteor came into the atmosphere and 'skipped" along the fringes for maybe fifteen or twenty seconds until it broke free of the Earth's gravity and continued on, into space still glowing until it was completely out of sight. There were several dozen other campers who were also privileged to have witnessed this spectacular event with us, and this remains as absolutely one of the more beautiful things I've ever seen.
Great animation! That looked real. The only thing I saw that was really a problem was that after the shockwave hit the beach the sand immediately returned to being exactly the same, footprints and all. If it had been hit by a shockwave it would have been smoothed out and pushed back.

For a meteor to be moving that slow to the eye, it must be a hundred miles away. Based on how fast the shock wave came, it was within a mile or two. This is what stood out the most to me.

I had it came out of the sky a aflame that literally reached about 20' above the ground across the street from my house back in 2020. They can reach the ground. I also don't think that that's a meteor. I think it's probably A-bomb because there is so much bombing going on out that way. They're all at wool with each other right now.
You're absolutely right, the visual is great but the shockwave speed is jarring. The ocean's horizon can be seen at 3 miles out and it looks like the meteor landed in front of the horizon.. so if a meteor would have struck at that distance, the shockwave would reach the camera within 14.2 seconds. Since it reached in just over 2 seconds, we can assume meteor landed .4 miles away. At that distance, I'm sure nobody would have been able to upload a video given that they'd have been just outside the point of impact, aka the place where everything got instantly vaporized.
And with a sharper crack like a bullets or any other objects that break the sound barrier. It's actually why a towel or whip pop like they do. The tip for that very miro measure of time exceeds Mach.

I noticed that too. In fifth grade my teacher took us outed and banged pots and stuff from like 1000 feet away to show has fast sound moves. About 3 football fields length. You could see her smack them, then the sound was just a second or two after. That looks like a couple miles. And the explosion that went up makes it look huge. Faster than sound as well. It would take several seconds to hit, or would kill you if it hit that fast.
Correct! Audio travels @ 1560ft per second so it would have been much more realistic visually and audibly if it was all slowed down and the sound and Doppler lowered and added to match!!

I noticed that too. In fifth grade my teacher took us outed and banged pots and stuff from like 1000 feet away to show has fast sound moves. About 3 football fields length. You could see her smack them, then the sound was just a second or two after. That looks like a couple miles. And the explosion that went up makes it look huge. Faster than sound as well. It would take several seconds to hit, or would kill you if it hit that fast.
You're right. You can get the feel of the speed of a shock wave from videos taken in Afghanistan.
Correct! Audio travels @ 1560ft per second so it would have been much more realistic visually and audibly if it was all slowed down and the sound and Doppler lowered and added to match!!
@@donaldphillips2648 You want to see a hell of a shock wave? Check it out. (I was doing some exterior painting near the plant when it lit up. From watching movies you have no idea what a real explosion feels like.)
