i think if you have an otherwise good Saturn, exalted/own sign/mooltrikona/friends sign, 8th house Saturn is also good for sitting meditation. I have a good Saturn in 8th and I have always been able to sit in meditation all day without a problem. I know many people who cannot sit for half a minute. 8th house is transformation and mysteries, so it can bring good discipline, endurance and patience with regard to those matters. So much so, my teachers noticed I like to sit and so they say, "No, don't do that, in your case that won't help you anymore, you need to just do brief meditations, you are too fixated on long meditation, that will not help you." I always say don't be paranoid about Saturn, if you work things out with Saturn it will give you everything, it is connected to the rainbow and the rainbow represents all the colors, the whole universe, Saturn can just transform and be the loveliest planet. If you are in Saturn dasha or important transits its a good opportunity to work with Saturn, I am 5 years into my Saturn dasha, its difficult but it is also very good for my development.

Sir, I am aries ascendant with retrograde jupiter in lagna and with saturn in 8th house scorpio, rahu in 12th house, pluto-sun-venus-combust moon-combust retrograde mercury in 7th house, mars-ketu in 6th house. I am going through saturn dasa since Nov 2009. I had 7.5 saturn, saturn return in 8th house scorpio, repeated activation of 8th house as saturn transits are going on. Too much of intense energies due to loss of job,marital issues, loss of my sibling for a tragic road accident, relational issues with family and relatives, betrayals and facing cold-hearted people always.
