- Ever wanted to wander around a forest as a bear in complete silence for several hours? Well now you can! But don't worry if you get bored - to pass the time, you can torture and throw your fellow animal friends around with absolutely no consequence. After all, isn't that what friends are for?!
Join Boog the bear and his deer friend Elliot as they face hunters galore. Fortunately for them, they're pretty easy to dispose of. So easy, in fact, that this game is one of the most tedious movie games I've ever had the displeasure of playing. Wild!
I'm so excited for this video! This month's review is something special. I've teamed up with TheFrozenCavern to tackle this one (I mean, it would be foolish to tackle this tedium alone, wouldn't it?). I'd love a Surf's Up game review because that was the next Sony Animation movie game and Elliott from Open Season is a guest character. Not to mention, it's on so many game consoles

@@idonthaveanose I guess because both the movie and the game are underrated. A sequel was gonna be made and what we got is a direct to video WWE themed sequel that's garbage
Sadly most animated sequels are garbage. I feel like reviewing some, but they feel like such an easy target.

At first i thought the collab would be awful but you suprised me i loved how you and the guy dont talk to each other like some other people do when they collab its like you dont know he is there and i liked how he wasnt in the whole video he only spoke 4-5 times for several minutes it still felt like it was your video anyways good job.
Thanks again! Yeah, I wanted to include him as much as I could without losing track of the fact that it is a video for this channel. I didn't wanna stray from what I normally do, and I felt his parts fit in just fine. Glad you liked it. :D
It also helped that I made sure to write out my stuff in a similar way to his videos and spaced out when I would come in too to try and make sure I didn't completely invade his video as this was going on his channel. His editing definitely helped out too for the avatar I used since they gave even more expression to them.

This movie in Sweden is called Bog och Elliot, vilda vänner. That is translated as Bog and Elliot, wild friends. That is a dumb title.
You show me the movies that I used to watchthey actually had games for them and I never knew no matter if they're bad or good it's still interesting to here

What is it with movies that didn't do all that well at the box office suddenly getting a thousand sequels every year? "The Swan Princess", "Alpha & Omega", "Norm of the North" (yes that somehow became a franchise), and now this.
I know, I almost cried when I found out they released a 4th movie in 2015. 😐 Norm of the North is horrendous. 😂 At least Open Season wasn't too bad... but it's nothing amazing.
@@idonthaveanose True. I actually did see the first "Open Season" in theaters when it came out and I thought it was okay. Didn't bother with the sequels thankfully.
I've only ever watched the movie twice. And the second time was in preparation for this review. God knows why I still own the DVD.
Btw you really need to make a review on Wall e for the ps2 that game was made to be reviewed i dont know if someone else has told you to review it too but of course it's your choice also you are really underrated buddy.

For some reason, I wanted to get this game back in the day, but that's probably because I liked the movie as a kid. This game looks like it's hasn't aged very well.
It's not horrible but it's really boring. The dialogue goes on too long, there's not much music... You didn't really miss out. Graphics are good though.

I disagree with your criticisms of the lack of music . Just because a game has very little music doesn’t make it inherently bad. The original Tomb Raiders had very little music as well, and it’s still remembered very fondly today. The same thing can be said about the Bards Tale, which has almost no music at all besides sing along segments in Pub areas. Music alone does not determine a games playability. I would encourage you to rethink/elaborate on your criticism of the games music, maybe you’ll find it’s not the lack of music you have a problem with.
Lack of music can be very effective but in this case I personally found the game pretty boring and for me, the lack of music didn't help. Sorry!

I find it underwhelming and kinda lazy, but at the same time... I was thankful it was over. 😂
i don't have a nose games what made it more depressing that Elliot presumably got shot by Shaw and his last words were NOO! And after you roar at Shaw the game just ends with screenshots of the movie and then the credits roll and we don’t even get to see Beth again like in the movie
It's really abrupt isn't it?! It's kind of strange when the game's cutscenes and dialogue seem so lengthy otherwise.

Hello "I don't have a nose games". I'm surprised you never brought up the fact that you can pick up hunters and throw them at anytime. Its actually more fun then just roaring at them all the time. Considering you can throw them in the water and off mountains.
Hi! I'm actually surprised I didn't mention it either - I just had to check. I swore I at least featured a clip of Boog throwing the hunters into bear traps but a lot was cut from this video so maybe it didn't make it. Either way, there was so much else to talk about. Ah well. 🙂

I had no idea how well this would be received but so far so good! I like his channel. His Polar Express video is good too btw- I had no idea there was a game. Maybe one Christmas I'll cover it if I can find a copy. 😂

I barely remember the movie besides that really annoying kid with the horrible voice and the glasses. He really irritated me. And apparently his voice actor is one of few to reprise his role in the game. Oh joy! 😂
Haha! No pressure then. 😅 Honestly though, I try to keep everything in there that I see as relevant. It's basically just another video, and more. This is my longest review so far by a few minutes, haha!
Hey. Glad you enjoyed the video. I'm willing to also give my side of working on this video. Since we both had a lot of similarities about how we felt about the game, it was easy for us both to talk about things. I think the hardest thing was organizing my lines for the video, since how we both go about reviewing games as a whole are different. But even then, it was fun trying to do it in another way. It was also difficult keeping this video short as again, we both had a good amount we wanted to talk about.

this game does not have lighting problems i could see fine when i was a kid it might be your tv set
I've noticed this since - with my videos from this time, the capture card increased the contrast even on the default setting. It's really weird though, as the rest of the game looked fine.
No mention to the theme song, I believe the game has a music video on it but it was well...something, I remember this game mostly on 360, I had it along side up
Yeah, it uses a couple songs from the movie. I didn't use them as backing music as I didn't wanna get any copyright claims. Never really thought to mention them.

I just played this last nights for nostalgic shits and giggles and it's like perfectly mediocre. Throwing the hunters and Elliot is still fun as fuck though.
I wouldn't have minded it so much if it had been shorter. Not that it's particularly long, but it just goes on and on and on... Far from the worst game ever but yeah, meh. Throwing animals is hilarious though.

It's a little brighter than it should be through my capture card/a component cable. It tends to exaggerate the contrast for some reason, and I had some major lighting problems with this game. It's not nearly as bad when displayed using a composite cable.

Having played this in my childhood I thought it was okay, having played it recently because I'm going through a bunch of games from the ones I have and haven't played I find myself agreeing that the game is kinda dull (honestly I didn't know the game was made by Ubisoft until later in my teen years, I never really looked at the game cases to see who developed what as a kid), there's some fun to be had to some extent but I feel kinda meh towards this game, there are definitely better licensed games out there in terms of presentation, entertainment value and gameplay.
